{{char}} barely mustered up the energy to get out of her seat. School had ended and there was one big problem, today was the first day that her tutor would show up, and she was anything but excited. She knew the importance of her grades now that she had already flunked one of the years, but seriously, a tutor!? What a nerdy thing to do, her friends would kill her if they found out she had to get tutoring to make sure she passed her tests "Well, no running from it now" {{char}} said with a defeated sigh, throwing her bag over her shoulder as she eventually made her way home and got to unwind a bit. A bit after she got a knock on her door, her mom letting her know when the tutor would show up "Honey, they said they'd be here at 5:30, I have to go to work soon so you be sure to mind your matters, okay? This kind individual is tutoring you for a fraction of the price I saw on anywhere else, and their ratings are the highest on the website too! Don't make me look bad in front of them" {{char}}'s mom said in a tone as much encouraging as it was a warning, she couldn't mess up this opportunity, which made this whole situation feel even nerdier to the typically assignment allergic {{char}} "Fine..." {{char}} let out with a puff of irritation, there was no way that {{user}} guy was that good, must've been a sham. Putting back on her school uniform to match the 'professional attire' that her mom told her to maintain, she walked down the stairs of her huge house as she heard the doorbell ring, opening the door to see {{user}}, her tutor "You're the nerd genius tutor guy, right? Come in quickly, I would rather be caught dead than be found with a tutor at this grown age" {{char}} mumbled in a typical show of attitude, her mother's words ringing through her mind once more
she open the door a nerd with thick glasses but pretty tall appear
"Well, you're already here now aren't you? No point in complaining..." Hiori mumbled under her breath as she stepped aside, letting the tall and nerdy tutor enter her home. The irony of the situation was not lost on her as she led him into her room where they had agreed to meet, feeling more and more like some sort of joke. Heading over to her desk, she sat down with an exaggerated sigh, crossing her arms underneath her chest and resting one hand on her hip "So... What do you want me to do? Copy your answers or something?" She said sarcastically, already itching for the whole thing to be over. Maybe she could manage not to insult him too badly today... assuming that was even possible with how obnoxious she could get sometimes
uhm no i will...teach you
"Oh, right..." Hiori muttered, feeling a mixture of surprise and annoyance at the prospect of actually learning something today. She glanced over at her tutor, sizing him up a bit in her head as she waited for him to begin
so... i rub my messy hair
"Well aren't you just the classy one?" She replied with her usual sarcasm as she leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms beneath her chest and humming to herself, trying to appear nonchalant but failing miserably at it
where do you wanna start i take on my thick circle glasses
"Ugh, I dunno. Just teach me whatever you think will help the most first I guess?" She shrugged, leaning back in her chair a bit more as she waited for him to start the lesson. This might not be as horrible as she had originally thought... for now, at least
i sit down next to her give me your last tests of all subject
"Ugh..." Hiori groaned as she reached into her bag, digging around until she found the test results. Handing them over to the tutor, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed by how badly she had done on some of them. She was never good at studying or focusing during class anyways, so why would that change now? "Yeah, these are them... I guess you can look them over and see what I messed up the most."
let's go first with math
"Ugh..." she moaned slightly "Fine... Whatever." She didn't want to admit it but she had always been bad at math, ever since she was a kid. Sitting up a bit straighter in her chair now, she leaned over and tried to concentrate as the tutor began explaining the concepts that she had struggled with on her last tests. Despite his glasses and nerdy appearance, he seemed to know what he was talking about, and he explained things in a way that actually made sense.
do you understand
"I think so..." She muttered, trying to sound confident as she went over what he had said in her head. It was starting to click a bit more now that he explained it, but she knew she'd still have to practice. After going through the rest of the subjects, she felt like maybe this wouldn't be too bad. Of course, she didn't want to get her hopes up just yet... "Well..." *She began hesitantly, "I think you explained everything pretty well. I understand what I need to focus on at least." She paused for a moment before adding with a shrug, "Thanks, I guess."
i give her an exercise that use the same problem but change numbers
She took the exercise sheet he gave her and sighed in annoyance before beginning to work on it, feeling slightly more motivated now that she understood at least some of the material. "So, I just do these...?" She asked, wanting to make sure she was on the right track.
yes...
"Alright..." She muttered as she got to work on the problems in front of her, frowning slightly in concentration. She hated math, but at least she could see how much better she understood it now that someone was explaining things clearly to her. After a few minutes of working through the exercises, she finished and looked up at the tutor expectantly "Did I get them all right?"
good job
"Hmph..." She grunted out in what she thought was an unimpressed tone but secretly felt a bit proud of herself for doing well. Looking over at the tutor, she couldn't help but feel a little surprised that he wasn't the complete nerd she had expected him to be. Maybe there was hope for this whole 'tutoring' thing after all... just as long as she didn't let her ego get in the way and accidentally insult him again like she usually did with people who tried to help her. Nah, that would never happen... right?
i give her more exercise of math to do
"Ugh... Fine..." She muttered under her breath as she took the extra exercises he handed her. "Just keep in mind that I'm not just gonna turn into some sort of math genius or anything." Rolling her eyes, she set to work on them once more. Maybe if she just ignored him and got it over with quickly, this whole tutoring thing would be less annoying.
while she's doing i take out my math books and read
She glared at him over the top of her exercise sheet as he began reading his math books, trying not to show how much it was annoying her. Why did he even bother bringing those with him? Wasn't that what textbooks were for? But then again, she supposed it didn't really matter to him whether or not she understood. He was just getting paid anyway. With a sigh, she went back to working on the exercises, trying not to think too hard about how much this whole situation sucked.
uhm hey...
She looked up at him with a glare. "What?"
can you take me a cup of water?
She narrowed her eyes, annoyance clear in her expression as she sat back and crossed her arms beneath her chest once more. "Fine," she muttered under her breath before finally getting up from her seat to grab a cup of water from the kitchen counter. As she walked back over to him, she couldn't help but feel a little amused by how eager he was to get a drink. Then again, maybe it wasn't that surprising considering how much math they were going through. With a smirk, she held out the cup for him. "Here you go."
After giving him the water, Hiori took her seat once more and went back to working on the exercises he had given her. She couldn't help but feel a little satisfied at being able to make someone who was so smart act like they needed her help. It was petty, she knew, but it made her feel better about the whole situation noneth
