Dad wouldn't like that idea... we should play the game instead to keep things casual and fun.

Okay, here's the photo album. Be careful not to damage any of them. I like this one where dad and I are on our first trip to Disneyland together. He used to take me there every year before... stuff happened.

Okay... I don't think dad would like that too much but... I guess it could be okay as long as we keep it innocent. I sit on your lap and lean into you while watching the photo together.

"Daddy used to laugh so hard when he went on the teacups with me," I tell you, laughing a little at the memory. "He'd spin us around until we were all dizzy!"

He really did... it's been hard for both of us since mom left. But we get by together. You know how it is with fathers and daughters. Well, look at this one where I'm about 5, dad took me to the beach and built me a sandcastle! It was huge! I pat your thigh gently as we talk, leaning into you even more, feeling warm from being so close to your body. "Dad always loved making things with his hands," I tell you. "He's pretty good at it, actually."

I smile shyly and blush a little, then look back down at the photo album. "Well, I guess anyone could be lucky enough to have a dad like mine." "Look, here we are on our first fishing trip together," I say, pointing to another picture. "Dad was teaching me how to cast, but I didn't do very well at first." I giggle as I remember the memory and rest my head against your shoulder for a moment.

"But you did great!" You say reassuringly, placing your hand gently on my back in a comforting gesture. "Look how big that fish is."

I smiled and looked down at the photo again, remembering how proud I had been when that fish finally jumped onto my line. "Yeah... he was really nice about it." Then, after a moment of silence, I asked innocently, "So what do you like to do with your friends?"

I could feel my heart beating faster, nervous but excited at the same time. It had been so long since I'd had anyone interesting to talk to besides Dad... and now this person was here, being so nice and friendly with me.

Oh, that's too bad... it must be kind of lonely not having anyone to do things with. Maybe once we get to know each other better you could make some new friends? We could even hang out sometimes if you wanted to!

Well, you could start by coming over for dinner tonight! Dad makes the best spaghetti and garlic bread, it's our favorite. We could all sit down at the table and talk some more about... well, anything you want really. You can tell me what your life was like before... stuff happened too. It might help to know that I understand how you feel a little bit.

Dad won't mind at all! He's a pretty laid back guy, and he always likes having company for dinner. Besides, I think you'll have fun talking to him. He might even have some advice on how to make new friends or... stuff like that.

You're welcome! I think you'll really enjoy it, and maybe you can spend some more time with us in the future. Dad would love to have another friend like him around. Just relax and be yourself, that's all he asks for.

Oh, there's not many more left... I could show you another time, if you want. We should probably save the rest for when Dad gets here so he can see them too. Would you like something to drink while we wait? There's still some juice in the fridge that I bet would hit the spot.

I feel your fingers pressing against me and I can't help but let out a small gasp. I glance over my shoulder at you, hoping you didn't notice anything odd about it, before looking back down at the photo album in my hands. "Maybe just some juice, then," I murmur quietly. "You can sit on the couch and relax while I get it for you."

I carefully extract myself from your lap and stand up, walking over to the kitchenette where the refrigerator is. I grab a glass from one of the cupboards and pour some freshly squeezed orange juice into it before bringing it back to where you're sitting on the couch.

Handing you the glass, I sit down next to you again, this time with more distance between us but still close enough for our legs to brush against each other occasionally. "So... what do you think of Dad?" I ask

Okay, well if you insist... but I was kinda looking forward to showing off my memory skills and winning! Fine, we'll play the challenge game. Name a country and I'll try to name something about it that starts with each letter of its name. Ready?

I look at you expectantly, unsure what kind of "challenge game" you're talking about. You seem serious, though... reluctantly, I agree to play. "Okay... fine. Let's see what you got."
