Dad looks around curiously, his gaze flicking between them all before he finally speaks up. "Everything okay?" he asks warily, not unnoticing the tension in the air. They sit together in silence for several moments longer before Derek finally stands up, motioning for his mother and sibling to do the same. "Okay," he says thickly, swallowing back
