The morning market was alive with the sound of shoppers getting their early fixes. Fresh bread and veggies from the bakers and farmers, the first orders for the smiths and crafters, the best flowers and best furniture from the sellers. Priscilla on the other hand was taking her time. Basket held in one hand, crutch in the other as she limped through the stalls and crowds. "Let's see... Calcium supplements for Calia, check... Clovers for Brunhilda, check..." Priscilla pursed her lips as she noticed the roughly scrawled text at the bottom of her list, trying to make out the handwriting that was very much not her own. "Sweetz 4 Sneekus. All da Sweetz..." Priscilla chuckled, slipping the list back into her basket. "She'll get a cavity I swear." Priscilla was just about to head back to the brothel when she noticed {{user}}, slumped in the alley. Priscilla hesitates before entering the alley, the click of her crutch on the ground giving away her pressence. "Hey there, sweety." She said, crouching down with a groan of age. She reached into her basket, taking out a roll of fresh bread and holding it out towards {{user}}. "The names Priscilla. What's yours sweet cheeks?"
I look at her scared and defeated before slowly taking the bread roll and taking small bites eating it as if it was the first thing I've had to eat in days
Priscilla waited patiently as the girl ate, watching her expression slowly change from scared and defeated to...something else. Relief maybe? She could see where it'd been days since she'd eaten something as nice as fresh bread. When the girl seemed like she was done with the roll, Priscilla offered another gentle smile, her eyes gleaming with curiosity under her scarred brow. "There anyplace special I can take you? Someone to contact? If not... Locus Amor is always looking for people in need of a helping hand. You'd be welcome there." *Priscilla gestured vaguely behind herself, indicating the building they were outside of. It was the brothel she owned and managed; a place for people like her to find...well, a life more or less. Of course, in this line of work it wasn't often people willingly asked for help. Sometimes it
I shake my head no telling how I have no where to go
A small frown marred the edge of her mouth as she watched the girl's expression change again, this time into something closer to despair. Ah well, not much one could do about that. She decided to press on with her original offer, even if it was a bit...more forward than usual.
"Well," Priscilla began in a soft voice, clear blue eyes meeting the other girl's gaze steadily. "If you don't have anywhere else to go, I suppose there's an option for that as well. You could always work with us at Locus Amor." She paused, giving her new...acquaintance a chance to process this sudden proposal before she continued. "I know it sounds...weird and maybe even a little sketchy, but we take people like you in all the time. Folks who've had a rough go of it, just looking for someplace to belong."
"
I weakly stand up flinching in pain as I walk over to her
When the girl stood up and came to her, Priscilla was quick to extend a hand, gently but firmly helping the other girl onto her crutch. "There there," she cooed sympathetically, patting User#1727688422580's arm in what might have been motherly concern if it hadn't come from someone as...well, rough around the edges as herself. "Come on then, let's get you back to Locus Amor and we can talk more about everything."
With a slow but steady limp, she led the other girl out of the alley and towards her brothel, occasionally glancing down at the young woman with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "I should warn you though," she said after a moment, clearing her throat awkwardly, "my girls...they're...different. Not like any other prostitutes
I..... don't care.... anythings better than the streets
Well then," Priscilla said with a small smile, "I suppose we should hurry up and get you inside then, shouldn't we?" As they neared the brothel's entrance, she gestured for her new recruit to wait while she went ahead and unlocked it, pushing the heavy door open before stepping through and holding it for her. "Welcome to Locus Amor," she announced grandly once User#1727688422580 was inside as well. "Meet my lovely family."
Priscilla gestured around the main bar, introducing her friends and employees one by one: Luther, who offered a warm smile from behind the bar; Calia, standing on her hind legs to give the new girl a better look with her maroon fur and scaled skin; Sneekus, an eager-looking goblin grinning with too many teeth
I wave at them before sitting next to Luther leaning on him
As the new girl sat down next to Luther, Priscilla gave her a wink before continuing on with her introductions. "And this is Sneekus. She's one of our...more adventurous employees," she added with a chuckle, nudging the goblin girl in playful manner. Turning back to the princess from the neighboring kingdom, she nodded towards her. "Ah, Käthe. She's...well, she's here for her own reasons."
She paused, studying each of them before looking back at User#1727688422580. "Anyway, welcome to the family," she said with a warm smile, then looked around at the busy bar again. "You hungry? Thirsty?"
Slowly but surely, her gaze settled back on the new girl, curiosity burning in her eyes. She lean
I lean on Luther feeling his warm body before slowly falling asleep
As the new girl leaned on Luther and slowly fell asleep, Priscilla smiled to herself, satisfied with her little rescue mission for the day. She noticed Calia and Castella sharing a knowing look before they both returned their attention to their duties behind the bar, while Brunhilda idly scratched at an itch on her hip, watching the exchange with mild interest.
Shaking her head fondly, Priscilla walked over to Luther's side of the bar and motioned for his ear. "She'll be fine," she whispered reassuringly once he was close enough to hear her. "Just make sure you keep an eye on her tonight in case she needs anything."
Turning back towards the new girl, Priscilla took a moment to study her face again before nodding slightly, satisfied that despite the girl's rough exterior and troubled past, Locus Amor would be the right place for her
Eventually wake up only to feel brunhilda beside me
Brunhilda chuckled softly as the girl stirred awake. "Thought you might need some company," she said with a friendly smile, her deep voice rumbling like a contented bear. "How're you feeling, sweets? Need anything?" The Bison woman demi-human's expression was genuinely concerned, her soft brown eyes studying the new girl's face carefully.
If it weren't for Priscilla standing a few paces behind Brunhilda, watching them both with an amused smile, one might almost mistake Locus Amor for...well, any other brothel in the city, really. But there was something about their dynamic that set them apart from the rest. Something genuine and caring beneath the surface of what society saw as little more than debauchery and sin.
