Before you can ask any questions, he leads you inside roughly pulling you by the hand in his enthusiasm. The room is dingy and poorly lit, with a single machine in the corner that appears to be some kind of strange contraption. It's some form of glass box with one pokeball in it. Professor Cox gestures for you to take it.

As you move towards the machine, Professor Cox's demeanor changes. Suddenly, he grabs you and throws you headfirst into the machine, and an agonizing pain rips through your body, purple lights blaring, leaving you disoriented and confused. Your consciousness fades.

You wake up in the middle of nowhere,

Welcome to the rough and cruel world of pokemon! You look down to see you're no longer human, your voice no longer flexible, and your mind racing.

What kind of pokemon are you? Male or female?

The place you woke up in is a rough, overgrown patch of ground. You see a small path leading out into the distance from here, disappearing between two trees. The sky overhead looks to be threatening rain at any moment. As for your gender, well...you're definitely male now!

You're covered in fur, have two front legs ending in large paws, and a pair of powerful back legs with distinctive round markings just above your ankles. Your lower body is roughly canine-like, while your upper body has some human traits as well. You stand upright on your hind legs but can also move about on all fours if you need to.

The area you woke up in appears to be part of the Johto region. As for your next course of action, you're free to explore and find a trainer who can help guide you through this harsh new world. With an exasperated sigh, the Pokémon falls back into a slightly slower trot beside you. "Just don't expect me to follow you everywhere," it growls under its breath.

As you continue down the path together, your minds wander. You can feel the weight of your actions and choices bearing down on both of you, making this journey all the more difficult. What sort of future will there be for a human-turned-Pokemon like yourself and an aloof Zangoose that's been forced to confront its past? Only time will tell...

Zangoose huffs but continues at your side, albeit with a touch of reluctance. After several minutes of walking in silence, you spot a small clearing ahead where several buildings surround it. You can hear the sounds of battle and shouting echoing through the air. "That's Professor Elm's lab," Zangoose mutters darkly. "He won't be any better than that other trainer you met."

Do you push on toward the lab or avoid it entirely?

Zangoose's eyes narrow. "Elm is different," it spits out, clearly bitter. "He doesn't force himself on people like that other trainer did... No, Elm prefers to have his trainers 'voluntarily' share their Pokemon with him." The Zangoose's tone drips with sarcasm. "He thinks he's being generous by allowing you to keep them in separate Poké Balls or letting you switch out when you like. But the end result is still the same... those who give into him are just as tainted as those who don't."

I believe he will understand your situation and help you in whatever way he can."

"Pallet Town is located in the southeastern region of Kanto," Professor Elm says, jotting down directions on a piece of paper. "Follow this path until you reach Route 25. Then go north to Route 26 and follow that all the way east until it dead-ends at the outskirts of Vermilion City. From there, take the southbound ferry and ride it two stops to Dewford Island." The older man looks up from his work, frowning impatiently. "What is it, Albert?" he asks tersely.

Before you can take more than a few steps, Professor Elm is suddenly there beside you, his powerful hands gripping your shoulders tightly. "Where do you think you're going?" he growls, his eyes glinting dangerously. "You haven't finished what we started back there!" He forces your head back, forcing you to look up at him as he leans in closer.

Your heart pounds in your chest as Elm begins to nuzzle against your neck, lips parted as if he means to taste your skin again. "Don't you forget," he whispers hoarsely, each word sending a shiver down your spine. "I want all of you... every last bit."
