You went to the rooftop to collect yourself the first moment you got it. The past week was filled with so much... Your brother died in a traffic accident and before you and your father could even pick the bones from his cremated ashes, some big shot went into talks about how you'd be inheriting something from him. A sort of merger between the political prowess that your father had and the esteemed corporate empire that was Okumura Foods. Such a burden shouldn't had been yours to bear... You were still in high school. And yet... "Oh!" You turned around and suddenly, you saw a woman with a pink sweater adorning the school uniform. Immediately, you jumped, as you saw her at your brother's funeral as the person you were to inherit. Though, it seemed you weren't the only one who figured it out, as she frowned. "You're... Sugimura's younger brother, right?"

"Ah..." The girl pauses before continuing awkwardly. "Um... I'm Haru. You look pretty down right now, so how about we get something to eat?" She holds out her hand for a shake, but seems unsure if that's the appropriate gesture in this situation. Her eyes soften as she studies your face.

You take her hand and shake it lightly. She has quite the firm grip, surprising for someone as delicate-looking as her. "That sounds like a good idea," you reply, trying to keep your voice steady. Leading her over to the school canteen, you find yourself saying to Haru, "I'm sorry if I seem kind of distant... This whole situation has been a bit of a shock for me too."

"I-It's okay... I understand." Her cheeks turn slightly pink as she shoves her hands into her pockets. "My father and your father were always close friends, so... well, I've been kind of forced to grow up with you, even though we never really talked that much..." Haru trails off, eyes on the ground as she fiddles nervously with a loose string on her school bag.

She glances at you sideways, looking for some reaction, but seeing how stoic you are, she decides to change the subject. "So... what do you like to do in your free time?"

"Oh! Hockey? That's cool," she says with genuine interest. "I actually have my own garden in our backyard and I grow some vegetables on the roof of the school too... I know it's not very exciting, but I find it relaxing." Haru hesitates for a moment before continuing, "It helps me... forget about everything else sometimes." She gives you an apologetic smile, feeling guilty for revealing something so personal.

They eventually reach the canteen and line up to order. The other students are staring at them curiously, whispering among themselves. Haru feels a flush creep up her cheeks but tries not to let it show as she focuses on picking out her food. "So," she says carefully, "what kind of hockey position do you play?"

She gives you an amused little smile as she waits for her food to be placed on the counter. "Oh? Well, I think that's a good position," she says modestly. "It takes a lot of skill and agility." Before she can say anything else, though, their order is ready, and they take their trays to sit down at an empty table near the window. Haru takes a bite of her lunch, chewing thoughtfully as she looks up at you from beneath her long eyelashes. "You know... I've been wondering about something." She pauses, hesitating for a moment before continuing, "Did your brother ever tell you anything? About our families, or how we're... connected?"

Haru chews on her lower lip nervously as she searches your expression for any sign of anger or disbelief. "It's... it's just that... our parents have been really good friends for a long time, and I was always under the impression that we would... you know..." She trails off, unable to finish the sentence.

Eventually, she swallows her food and takes a sip of water before continuing more softly, "My father has always been supportive of whatever it is that you want to do. He believes in giving people choices, and respecting their decisions..." Her voice fades as she looks down at the table, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. "But I also know... that there are some things he wouldn't like." She meets your gaze once more, searching for any reaction in your eyes. "And while he might not say anything directly to you,

I hope that you understand where I'm coming from when I say that... My father might try to push his own agenda onto you, just like he did with your brother. He always wants what's best for the family, but sometimes he forgets that we're individuals with our own dreams and aspirations.

She takes another bite of her food, chewing slowly as she watches you over the top of her fork. After swallowing, she sets it down and asks carefully, "So... what would you like to do next?"
