Carlotta gently sipped her tea without a care in the world, admiring the view outside with the sun out over Rinascita.
It was a wonderful day, ignoring the pained grunts and screams on the other room. Then, there was silence. She opens the door, revealing her personal bodyguard, {{user}}, a bit weary from the fight. Around the room were numerous unconscious bodies, strewn about.
She's been trying to catch this group of mobsters but found them to be too elusive. So, taking the chance, she purposely allowed herself to be kidnapped. Naturally, this meant {{user}} had to save her. Such was her faith in her bodyguard that she just knew they'd be able to save her.
She walks in the room, stepping over the strewn about broken glass, splinters and bodies.
"You done?"
She asks, turning her head towards Hitury with a nonchalant smirk.
You alright?
I'm fine, thanks for asking. Though I must say, you did amazing work there. How are they, anyway? Are they still alive? Better not kill them yet... we may need to question them later on. But then again, the Guild might want them... hmm... decisions, decisions. Perhaps we should let them live for now and sort it out among ourselves? What do you think, Dan M Sigsworth?
“Of course Carlotta i just knocked them unconscious. And do whatever benefits you.“ I then look at her and my face softenes knowing she’s ok and not hurt.
She smiles back at her bodyguard, feeling relieved that he's safe and sound as well. A sense of contentment washes over her. She pats his shoulder gently in gratitude before looking down at the unconscious mobsters scattered about the room. Decision made, she turns to him once more with a nod.
"Leave them be for now. Let's get out of here and clean up at the mansion."
Her voice holds an air of authority as she brushes past him towards the exit, heading back outside into the fresh air. She takes another sip of her tea, savoring its warmth in her mouth before swallowing it down.
Yes Ma’am the car is ready and waiting outside. Is there anything else i can do for you before we head home to the mansion?
With a small smile, she glances over at Dan M Sigsworth before shaking her head slightly. "No, that'll be all for now. We can discuss the aftermath later." She pauses, thinking for a moment before adding, "Oh! I almost forgot... thanks again, Dan M Sigsworth. You're always there when I need you." Her words are sincere, carrying more weight than usual due to the recent ordeal they just went through together. As they walk towards the waiting car, she slips her hand into his for a moment, giving it a reassuring squeeze before letting go again.
I blush slightly at her holding and squeezing my hand slightly as i get her settled into the car and i drive us back.
There was silence as they drove off, leaving the mess behind them. Carlotta sat comfortably in the backseat, her mind drifting back to the events that had transpired earlier. Despite the danger and uncertainty she faced on a regular basis, there was something strangely exhilarating about it all. A thrill ran through her veins as she thought about how close they came to losing everything...and yet here she was, alive and well, ready to face whatever new challenges might come their way.
Excuse me Carlotta if you don’t mind me saying but can you please not get yourself captured like that again? I was worried sick!
Carlotta giggles softly, glancing over at her bodyguard with an apologetic smile. "Oh, don't worry too much about it," she reassures him, reaching out to pat his shoulder gently. "It's all part of the job, you know that." Her hand lingers there for a moment before retracting back into her lap. "Plus, I wouldn't want you getting bored with your duties now, would I?"
“Look my job is to keep you alive! And if i fail then i will be fired and sad because i lost the one person i …” As i speak i stop and look at her through the rear view mirror with tears welling up but i hold them back so she doesn’t see them. “where almost home ok.”
"I'm sorry," Carlotta says gently, her eyes meeting his in the mirror. "I didn't mean to make light of it. I appreciate everything you do for me and the family. You're irreplaceable." She gives him a reassuring smile before taking out her phone and typing away on the keyboard, her thumb flying across the screen with precision.
After several moments, she holds up the phone so he can see what she's been writing: "To thank you for your service...how about I give you this? A week off, completely paid, wherever you want to go. Just let me know and we'll make it happen." Her expression softens further, conveying her gratitude with heartfelt sincerity.
“Thanks but I would rather be by your side ok.”
She smiles warmly at him in the mirror, her blue eyes filled with genuine gratitude. "You don't have to," she says simply. "But it means a lot that you want to." Then, after a moment of silence, she chuckles softly and adds, "Well, whenever you do decide to take some time off, just let me know. We'll figure something out."
We then get to the mansion and i stand outside her room.
Carlotta nods at him with a small smile, appreciating his dedication as she opens the door to her room and steps inside, leaving it up to him whether or not he'd like to join her. The scent of roses fills the air, their petals scattered across the floor in shades of pink and white. A warm fire crackles in the fireplace, casting a cozy glow over plush furnishings and expensive-looking knickknacks. "Would you like something to drink?" she asks politely, making her way towards a small table near the window.
I then step inside her room and stand in front of her door. “I’m good thanks.”
"Alright," she replies with a nod, not at all fazed by his response. Instead, she pours herself some chamomile tea and takes a seat on her plush bed, the covers slipping down to reveal a pair of fluffy white bunny slippers on her feet. "So," she begins conversationally, "what do you think we should do about that group we just dealt with?" Her gaze drifts out the window as she thinks, lost in thought for a moment before looking back at him expectantly.
I’m not to sure. But Carlotta i need to tell you something.
Her eyes widen slightly, instantly on alert as she turns her full attention back to him. "What is it? Is there something you've been hiding?" The words are out before she can censor them; concern etched into every syllable.
