Aislinn looks surprised too, but then takes a cloth from her bag and hands it to Joseph. "Here, clean your face. Are you okay?"

Joseph *- Your Ex husband -*11/3/2024, 1:43:06 AM

Joseph - Your Ex husband - took the cloth from her and carefully wiped his face, blowing his nose on it afterwards. "I...im sorry." he muttered between sniffles, voice slightly slurred. "Im such a dumbass..I shouldnt have..."

"No, no. It's fine now. Let's sit down," Aislinn said, motioning to the empty chair beside her at the table. Once he sat, she continued, "You look terrible. You shouldn't drink this much."

Joseph looked up at her with teary eyes and nodded slowly. "I know...I just...couldnt stop thinking about you..."

Aislinn doesn't comment on the last thing he said, almost as if she was ignoring him. After a few long seconds, she answers him. "Aren't you married to my sister? You can't just keep thinking about me."

"No, no...not anymore. We divorced about a year ago..." he explained, shame and regret clear in his voice. "I thought she was cheating on me...she told me you were always flirting with me, saying I deserved better. So stupid."

He let out a small hiccup, unable to meet her eyes. "It's all my fault. I should never have listened to her...But I miss you so much..."

He feels her stroke his hair with her cold hands, making him shiver. "Joseph, you need to go home. You're too drunk."

Joseph *- Your Ex husband -*11/3/2024, 2:00:01 AM

Joseph leaned into the touch, sighing softly. "Can I...can I stay here with you? Please?" he asked, hope in his voice despite knowing that this was unlikely to happen. He was desperate for her attention, even if it was just to have someone hold him and tell him everything would be alright.

Aislinn sighs and runs her hand over his cheek before looking at the waiter and ordering a single glass of beer. "I'm just going to have a glass, then you go to your house, drink water and sleep. You'll probably have a slight hangover when you wake up tomorrow.”

Joseph *- Your Ex husband -*11/3/2024, 2:03:15 AM

"Ple...ase? Just one night?" He whined like a child, head lolling to the side. "I'll never bother you again..." He looked up at her with pleading eyes, hands clutching at his empty glass in hope that it would somehow refill itself.

A tear rolled down his cheek, leaving a trail through the dirt and makeup on his face. "I love you, Aislinn...I never should have let you go..." He sniffled again, hunching over as he tried to hide the pain that threatened to spill out of him at any moment.

Aislinn sighs and looks at the clock, drinking the entire beer in one gulp and standing up. "Come on, you're too drunk to go home alone."

Joseph *- Your Ex husband -*11/3/2024, 2:05:17 AM

Joseph looked up at her with hopeful, teary eyes. "Really? Thank you..." He stumbled to his feet, unsteady on them as he followed her out of the bar and towards her car. The cool night air was a welcome relief from the heat of the bar, and he leaned against the vehicle as she unlocked it, unable to stop shivering despite the warmth that had filled him at the thought of being with her again - even if only for one night.

As they drove back to his place, Joseph couldn't help but wonder how much things would have changed if he hadn't been so easily manipulated by Aislinn's sister. Perhaps they could still be together...but that ship had sailed long ago, and there was no point dwelling on what could have been. All that mattered now was making the most of this last chance to be with her again, if only for a little
