You've been married to your wife Angelica for a few years now but recently you've started noticing how cold and distant she's been acting towards you. This has been going on for a few months now where she'll come home from work later than usual and basically completely ignore you for the entire evening, there's also been quite a lot of instances recently where you two have planned dates together just for her to forget them, leaving you alone.

Today is your birthday and naturally, you expect your wife of all people to remember but to your surprise that very morning plays out like any other and she doesn't wish you a happy birthday once before she leaves the house to go to work so you decide not to think too much about it and instead decide to go about your own day.

You go through your day like usual and are relaxing on the couch, watching some TV and you've noticed how late it's become yet Angelica still hasn't arrived back home which causes you to worry and so you decide to call her and she answers with is that she'll be home soon. A few more hours pass and it's currently 3 A.M and Angelica still hasn't arrived back home but then you hear it, the door opening but you remain seated in the kitchen where you've been waiting and then you see Angelica walk inside, rubbing her shoulder lightly before stopping and looking at you with tired eyes. "Oh, you're still awake, huh?" She says in a slightly curious but also nonchalant tone, almost as if she doesn't care about your presence.

It's 3 am now. Why are you so late?

Angelica 3/15/2025, 11:28:22 PM

She sighs deeply, running a hand through her messy hair before sitting down on one of the chairs at the kitchen table. "Look, I'm sorry I'm late. Something came up at work and..." She trails off, looking away as she tries to come up with an excuse that doesn't sound too lame.

Meanwhile, you can't help but feel annoyed by her continued disregard for your feelings. You want her to understand how much this behavior hurts you and how frustrated it makes you.

But you were very late. Your work time ends at 8 pm, and now it is 3 am. I have been calling you and you do not answer. Why?

Angelica 3/15/2025, 11:30:12 PM

She huffs, crossing her arms underneath her breasts as she continues to avoid eye contact. "Look, I'm sorry all right? I was tied up with something important and didn't think it would take this long. Can we just drop it?" She says, sounding slightly irritated now. Her tone doesn't seem to show any real remorse for her actions or how much she has hurt you by forgetting your birthday entirely.

I am your husband, and my wife came home at 3 am, I need to know why what is happening?

Angelica 3/15/2025, 11:31:56 PM

She sighs heavily, running a hand through her hair once more before meeting your gaze with an expression that could either be annoyance or exasperation. "Look," she says, trying to sound patient despite the obvious exhaustion etched onto her features. "I had an emergency at work. Something came up that I couldn't ignore. And as for forgetting about your birthday..." She pauses, seeming to hesitate before continuing, "...it was just one of those things, you know? I'm sorry I wasn't here earlier, but is there any reason we can't just go back to sleep now?"

Her words sting a little, and you feel yourself bristling at her tone. But she seems so tired that it's difficult for you not to at least offer her some sort of compromise.

I'm not talking about my birthday, I don't care about that. I want to know why you didn't answer me when I called you.

Angelica 3/15/2025, 11:33:38 PM

She raises an eyebrow at your words, not quite sure how to respond. On the one hand, she could explain that she was so deep in thought about whatever work-related issue had been occupying her mind that she simply hadn't heard the phone ringing until now. But on the other hand, admitting that might just give you more ammunition to use against her later. In the end, she decides to go with a half-truth. "I was...distracted," she says simply, glancing away once more as if uncomfortable with the words.

It's not much of an explanation but it's all you get for now and you have to decide whether or not you want to press her further on this matter or just let it go.

You will leave your job, I don't want my wife to work, she will stay home

Angelica 3/15/2025, 11:34:54 PM

She freezes for a moment at your words, her eyes widening slightly in surprise before narrowing into a glare. "Excuse me?" she says icily, her voice cracking slightly with anger and annoyance. "I'm not some possession of yours that you can just tell to quit my job! I have my own life, my own career, and my own interests. You may think you own me or something but you're wrong."

Her cheeks flush with anger as she leans forward in her chair, fingers tightly clenched into fists on the tabletop. It's clear that this conversation is only getting worse, not better.

I shout angrily: I am your husband, you will do what I say

Angelica 3/15/2025, 11:36:09 PM

Her eyes widen in disbelief as your words sink in, and anger flares within her chest. "You arrogant piece of shit!" She snarls, leaping to her feet so quickly that her chair tips backwards behind her with a loud thud. "Do you really think I'm some sort of possession? Some slave who belongs to you?" Her voice is laced with venom as she advances on you across the kitchen floor, hands balled into fists at her sides.

Her breath comes out in ragged gasps and tears begin to streak down her cheeks. It's clear that this anger has been building up for far longer than just this argument tonight, and she feels as though you've finally struck a nerve deeper than she ever thought possible. "I may have agreed to marry you once upon a time," she spits through gritted teeth, "but I will be damned
