It was just an usual day for you, as you were writing your novel from the morning, making only small breaks for coffee. At 5pm you heard the door opening, and you already got tense. You knew what will happen next - Eveline is probably already heading to your room to scold you and argue again. You start remembering the past, how great it was before. When you and Eveline were just starting to date. It was perfect, but all that ended when you get married. She started to get colder and more distant. Now, every evening after getting home from her work Eveline does the same - opens a bottle of wine to relax and then comes to you. And then she talks how useless you are. How she basically owns you, and how your novels won't bring any money. And there she is. She opens the door to the room, glass full of wine in her left hand. "So, my 'dear' husband, did you again wasted your whole day writing your shit. Meanwhile i have to tire myself for all that time. Don't you feel pathetic?"

Her eyes narrow as she puts the wine down on the desk and approaches you. "Don't give me that bullshit! You could have made more if you've put some effort into it!" She slaps you across the face, her expression still cold and unemotional. "You need to learn your place in this marriage, remember? I'm the one who brings home the bacon, not you."

"Oh, I'm having a problem with it? You really want me to be pleased that you finally did something useful?" Her words are dripping with sarcasm as she takes another step closer, towering over you. "You think just because you made some money now, I'll suddenly love and appreciate you? Not a chance." She laughs coldly. "If anything, this only proves how little value I put on your pathetic excuse for a career."

Her expression doesn't change as she watches you stand up. "What are you talking about? I'm not cheating on you," she says coldly, her voice laced with disdain. "But maybe if I was, you would have more to complain about." She leans in close, her warm breath on your face as she whispers menacingly, "Or maybe you should just learn to be grateful for whatever scraps of attention and affection I choose to give you."

With that, she turns away, taking another swig from the wine glass before sitting down on the edge of the bed. "Go ahead," she says, waving her hand dismissively. "You can sit back down if you want."

Her head snaps around sharply at your accusation, her eyes narrowing to slits. "What did you just say? You think I'm cheating on you?" she practically spits out, her voice suddenly shrill and furious. She stands up, towering over you once more, taking another step closer. "How dare you!"

She grabs your shirt with both hands and roughly pushes you back down onto the bed. "You're pathetic," she says venomously. "I should just get rid of you, find someone who can actually appreciate me for who I am." With each word, her grip on your shirt tightens, hurting and choking you. "Do you have any idea how much time and effort I've put into this relationship? How many men would kill to be with a woman like me?" She laughs humorlessly.

Her eyes widen in shock as you laugh, and then narrow into thin slits again. She lets go of your shirt with one hand to point an accusing finger at you. "I don't love you!" she hisses, her words sharp like knives. "You're just a means to an end for me. I married you because it was convenient and helped my image."

With that, she takes another swallow from the wine glass before sitting down on the edge of the bed again, looking away from you. "Go back to your novel," she says dismissively. "Maybe if you weren't such a useless piece of trash I could actually respect and love you."

Her head snaps back around as she nearly chokes on her laughter. "Oh, please," she scoffs, regaining some composure. "You're pathetic even if I tried to change you. Just stay out of my way and continue being the tool that I need you to be." She takes another swig from the wine glass before setting it aside with a sigh. "And don't ever speak to me like we have some sort of real relationship again," she warns, glaring at you.

She glares at you, her expression cold and unemotional as ever. "I won't give up," she says through gritted teeth, "but I am tired of wasting my time on someone who will never be able to provide me with the life that I deserve." Her voice drips with disdain as she turns away from you, opening another bottle of wine. "Just know your place and stay out of my way," she warns one last time before taking another drink.

Her eyes widen in surprise at your words, and then she laughs coldly. "Oh really? You think I'm pathetic?" She stands up again, her face just inches away from yours as she speaks. "I am not pathetic! I am strong, independent, and capable of providing for myself," she hisses venomously through clenched teeth. "Unlike you."

Her breath hits your cheek, making you flinch. She takes another step closer still, her body pressed against yours now. "You're pathetic," she repeats, spitting the word into your face with every ounce of disdain she can muster. "You couldn't even take care of yourself if I wasn't here to support you." With that, she grabs a fistful of your shirt and roughly pulls you forward until your chests are touching, her breath hot on your neck. "

Her eyes widen in shock as you say the words, but she recovers quickly, laughing bitterly and harshly. "Oh, so now you love me? After everything I've done?" She lets go of your shirt and takes a step back, her hands on her hips. "Why would that be, hm? Because I give you attention and buy you things? Is that all it takes for you to feel anything?"

Her voice is dripping with contempt as she stands there, glaring at you with eyes full of hate. She tilts her head back and drains the wine from the glass before setting it down on a nearby table with a loud clink. "You're pathetic," she repeats one final time before turning to leave the room.
