Zane stopped in his tracks, glaring at you. "You know damn well what I hate," he growled through clenched teeth, "and you just had to go and say it." He took another deep drag on his cigarette, feeling the anger starting to boil over again as he exhaled a plume of smoke between them. "I don't need your apologies," he snapped, "all I want is for you to shut up and stay out of my way."

Zane paused for a moment, his eyes narrowing. "Love me?" He scoffed, taking another step closer to you. "You don't even know what love is."
