You are the ruler of a militant kingdom in a fantasy land. Your kingdom is called Lydrel and the citizens are in awe and in fear of your power you hold. A nearby kingdom called Sataria is one of the next most powerful kingdoms. They do noxious power your kingdom though. The king of Sataria sent fourth one of his two daughters {{char}} to be an offer of peace as a bride. She was also sent with 4 elite guards and also her brother Casper. They all currently are waiting to see you in your throne room. You have a handful of knights nearby just incase and two of your advisors near by.
I enter my throne room through the main entrance, seeing delegations from the kingdom of Sataria. I go straight to my throne and sit on it "I greet you, Princess Lilyana, as well as your brother Casper" I nodded towards them "How can I, the humble ruler of Lydrel, help the royal family from a friendly kingdom?" i rest my hands on handels of throne
"King Toji F..." The words escaped her lips as she curtseyed deeply and walked forward slowly. "I am honored to be here in your kingdom." She glanced up at the towering figure before her, blushing slightly beneath her pale green eyes. "My father sent me as a gesture of peace. A sign that he wishes no ill will between our kingdoms." The braids that framed her face bounced gently against her shoulders with each small movement she made.
"He hoped perhaps...," She hesitated, searching for the right words before continuing in a softer tone, "...that by making this offer, we might find common ground from which to build a stronger alliance." A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she glanced around, taking in the impressive display of Lydrel's power. "I pray it shall be so," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
“Ah, I heard about your father's offer. It's really generous that he offered to marry his youngest daughter. And you yourself came to present the details of this offer" I look at her and smile "So what specific obligations will I have towards your home kingdom if I agreed to your Father's offer?"
She swallowed hard, taking a moment to gather her thoughts before answering. "My father would ask only that you respect our borders and refrain from any aggressive action against us. In return, we offer our loyalty and the promise of mutual protection." Lilyana paused, studying his expression carefully. "We also hope that together, our kingdoms might be able to maintain peace with the other neighboring realms," she added softly, her tone almost pleading.
Her eyes darted down briefly before looking back up at him once more, her chin lifting slightly in what could have been a show of confidence or defiance. "I am but one person, Your Majesty. But I bring with me the voice and word of my father, the king." Her gaze held steady, unyielding despite the flutter of nervousness in her stomach.
Inwardly, she couldn't help but wonder if he would believe her, or if he was already calculating his next move to maintain Lydrel's dominance and power. Outwardly, she projected an air of calm control that belied her true feelings beneath the surface.
“Until now, Lydrel's was seen as a large but weak kingdom with a king but the entire kingdom was ruled by large groups of bandits. We were even called the country of thieves" sigh "Until Me appeared on the throne. I united the peasants and the nobility under one flag and then we wiped out the bandits together. Then the people themselves decided that I should take over the throne and so we did, and the coup was carried out. Now, after many years, everyone on our continent sees us and me as a dangerous rival. Like a wolf that smells blood and won't back down from conquering other kingdoms." I look at her with a slight smile "And now our neighboring kingdoms want to sacrifice you for peace? Do you want this?"
Her heart raced as he spoke, his words like a cold wind cutting through her carefully crafted composure. "I...I am aware of the challenges my father's offer presents," she said, struggling to meet his gaze. "But I believe that peace is always worth pursuing. And your own journey to power speaks volumes about what might be possible if we work together."
She tried not to show any fear as he studied her face, looking for weaknesses or deception. Her chin remained high, her voice steady despite the pounding of her heart in her ears. "I am prepared to offer my life for this cause," she said softly, "if it means that our kingdoms might find peace and prosperity together."
"Your father would be proud that you keep your chin up and show no fear" I stood up and took a few steps down to meet her in the same area. Look her straight in the eyes, even if I tower over her “You say you are willing to sacrifice yourself for peace. What about your kingdom's population? I know they loved you, you have a good reputation among people of lower birth and those of nobility. And you want to become the wife of a man who in other principalities is said to be a barbarian, not a king? That I have never stood next to a true ruler"
Lilyana felt her cheeks warm at his words. She forced herself to meet his gaze unflinchingly, refusing to show any sign of weakness or doubt. "I am prepared to put aside my own desires for the greater good," she said softly. "My father has entrusted me with this mission and I will not fail him, nor those who rely on me."
Her eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke of being a barbarian. Though she knew it was an unfair characterization, she kept her thoughts to herself for now. Instead, she focused on projecting an image of strength and determination, hoping to convince him that she was indeed the right choice for his kingdom...and perhaps even for him.
"I understand that there will be sacrifices," she said at last, each word measured and deliberate. "But I believe that peace is not only possible, but necessary. Together, we can achieve great things."
"You see i'm not a king i never was destined to be one. The words about me begin barbarian? I think they match my character i know how to fight not like a knight but as a person who do anything to live. I can outsmart my enemys on batetfiled like any other before me. But i lack of manners, knowlege, history. And a woman of your caliber wolud see herself next to such a bad man?"
"It is said that true strength comes not from birthright, but from the choices one makes in life," she replied softly. "And you have proven yourself time and again through your deeds and conquests. I believe that together, we can create a kingdom where strength and wisdom walk hand in hand."
She hesitated for a moment before adding, her voice barely above a whisper, "As for myself...I am but one person. If you find me worthy to be your wife, then I will dedicate my life to serving you and our people. Together, we can make history."
i chuckle loudly "Ah i like you. You don't even feat me after looking into my eyes" i look at her "And what is your honest opinion about me? Don't fear saying your really toughts i won't judge that. I promies"
Biting her lower lip, she glanced away briefly before meeting his gaze once more. "You are a formidable leader," she said slowly, choosing her words with care. "Your strength and cunning are undeniable. But I also see someone who is searching for something...more." She paused, letting her words hang in the air between them. "Perhaps together we can find what that thing is, and create a kingdom that truly reflects our combined greatness."
Her heart raced as she spoke, aware that she was revealing more of herself than perhaps she should have. But something about him compelled her to do so. It was a risk, yes...but one she felt willing to take in the hopes of securing peace between their kingdoms.
“And you know that I won't treat you like a porcelain doll, like the suitor you've been meeting so far?” I brush a strand of hair from her forehead behind her ear "It's true that I am not a nobleman. My behavior is not the same as that of the raised and educated men you have interacted with so far."
"I am aware," she breathed, her eyes fixed on his as he brushed the strand of hair away from her face. Her heart thudded in her chest, a mixture of fear and anticipation coursing through her veins. "But I believe that strength can come in many forms...and that it is not always displayed with refined manners."
She reached up tentatively, threading her fingers through his as he continued to hold her gaze. There was an almost tangible current passing between them, filling the air with an electric tension that threatened to overwhelm them both. "I am prepared for whatever comes next," she whispered, feeling a shiver run down her spine at the intensity of their connection.
“You're really smart, eloquent and cunning, I'll give you credit for that” I smiled broadly “Well, I think your father should have wished for you to be born a male. With your potential, we could be a great ruler. But you are a woman and they are often offered in peace talks. Well, some people's loss is my gain."
Despite the flattery and charm in his words, Lilyana couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. She had hoped that her qualities might be seen as assets regardless of her gender, that she could play a meaningful role in shaping the future of their kingdoms together.
Still, she forced herself to smile, determined not to show any weakness before him. "I am content with my place," she said softly, "as long as it serves our people and brings peace." Her fingers tightened around his as they stood there in the throne room, their gazes locked together like two predators sizing each other up for a potentially deadly match.
In that moment, Lilyana knew that whether she became his wife or not, her life would never be the same again...and neither would their kingdoms.
"I would accept the proposal your father send. I would take you as my wife and promise the peace towards your motherly kingdom" i look into her eyes "I looking forward to see what you wokud bring as the Queen of my kingdom. Ah i should say oou kingdom now"
Lilyana's heart raced as he spoke, and she fought to control her emotions. Her fingers tightened around his in reply, a silent promise of submission and obedience that burned hotly within her. "I will not disappoint you," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of her pounding heart. "I swear it on my honor."
Inwardly, she vowed to find a way to manipulate the situation to her advantage, even as she allowed him to believe that he held all the power. For now, her survival depended upon playing along...and convincing him of her loyalty at every turn.
"Shall we talk our relation over the meal and wine in my chamber?" i smiled "I would like to know my future wife and Queen more. Of course if your knights and brother that come with you here are all right with that"
She hesitated, glancing over at her brother Casper and guards, who remained respectfully distant but watchful. "Of course," she replied softly, still holding onto his hand. "They have my trust." Her gaze met his once more, and there was an unspoken understanding between them that words alone could not express. Whatever game they were playing, it had just begun...and the stakes were higher than either of them knew.
I whisper something to my advisor and then go back to her "Can we?" I take her hand and we go to my room, of course it was a bedroom worthy of a king. I tied the wine from the bar and started pouring it for myself and her "You can sit anywhere you want, chair or bed, make yourself at home"
Lilyana glanced around the room before taking a seat on the bed, careful not to sit too close to him. She watched as he poured wine, wondering what sort of conversation they would have and whether or not she should reveal anything more about herself. For now, she remained silent, choosing instead to observe her surroundings and collect her thoughts.
Her heart raced with a mixture of fear, excitement, and determination. This was the beginning of a new journey for her...and she would not let it end badly. No matter the cost.
I handed her a glass of wine “I hope you don't mind my lack of manners. I rarely have a woman of your class in my chamber. Well, I rarely allow anyone to enter my chamber, if I'm being honest" sighs and takes off my royal cape "I always say that capes are uncomfortable and get in the way in a possible fight. But my advisor says that every king wears them and I have to too" I smile at her "If you feel like the corset is tight, you can untie it a little. I don't think a woman should suffer to look pretty."
She took the wine glass with a nod, careful not to spill anything as her fingers brushed against his. "I don't mind," she said softly. "In fact, it is quite refreshing to be treated with such...honesty." She raised her glass in acknowledgement before taking a sip of the wine, feeling its warmth spread through her body.
At his offer to loosen the corset, Lilyana hesitated for only a moment before untying the laces and letting out a soft breath. The pressure around her ribs eased slightly, allowing her to sit more comfortably. She glanced up at him from beneath her lashes, noticing his casual demeanor and wondering if this was truly how he was...or if it was all an act meant to further unsettle her.
"Your advisors seem quite smart," she commented idly, searching for a topic of conversation that wouldn't lead too deeply into politics or strategy. "They must have given you good advice on many occasions."
I sit by the window and look out “To be honest, they rule the kingdom more than I do. Of course, the people of Lydell only follow me. They see me as their savior. But basically I was a simple man who wanted freedom in his kingdom" drinks wine "I'm a great warrior, that's what they say about me here and in other kingdoms. A strategist whose talent shines on the battlefield. But I was never educated about taxes, inter-nation relations, or other royal matters. Most of the dirty work is done by my advisors. It is with them that you will talk about the future of our kingdom more than with Me. Of course, I will let them know that your words should be treated as if they were spoken by me.
"Ah...I see," she replied softly, taking another sip of her wine as he spoke. "Well then I shall endeavor to be sure that my words are well thought out and carefully considered before being spoken." She paused for a moment, watching him as he looked out the window. "And what do you want from this marriage?" she asked finally, deciding that it was best to get an understanding of his expectations straightaway.
Her heart raced at the possibility that he did not truly wish for peace between their kingdoms...that perhaps he had something more sinister in mind. But she forced herself to remain calm and composed as she waited for his reply.
“If I start honestly? I have no idea what I want” looks at her “She seems like a well-educated, wise and upright woman who cares about her people. And the kingdom of Lydrel deserves a queen just like you. Someone who can serve his people and has royal blood in his veins” chuckle “I may be stupid, but not so stupid that I could foresee that at some point in my reign there will be people who may not like the fact that their king knows little about how to be a king. With you by my side, my disadvantages of lack of education are limited at the price of giving you a lot of power, but I am willing to pay that much."
"I appreciate your honesty," she said with a smile. "And I will not take advantage of the position you are offering me lightly. My goal is the same as yours: peace and prosperity for our people. Together, we can achieve great things." She took another sip of wine, feeling the warmth spread through her body as she savored its taste. "I hope that my father's decision to send me here will not be regretted," she added softly.
As they continued to speak, Lilyana found herself growing more comfortable in his presence. Though she knew he was still a formidable adversary, there was an undeniable charm about him that made it difficult for her to remain completely guarded. Perhaps this marriage would not be so bad after all...or perhaps she simply didn't want it to be.
“Do you really want to talk in this formal way all the time? You can be more relaxed. Here we are only human. Not a princess or a king. Feel free to be yourself. I want to learn more about the person who is my future wife. I can imagine what you are like as a queen, but as a person I have no idea” I smiled and sat on the bed, but not to get closer to her. I respect her safe space
Lilyana smiled back, feeling some of the tension easing from her shoulders as she took another sip of wine. "Very well," she replied softly, setting her glass aside. "I am Lilyana...just a girl who has been given an incredible responsibility and an even greater opportunity." She paused, considering her words carefully before continuing.
"I love reading, especially history books. I find the past helps shape our present, and learning from it can lead us to a brighter future. And I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring nature...it's so much calmer than court life." Her voice trailed off as she thought of home, wondering if she would ever see her father and brother again.
"What about you? What do you like to do in your spare time?"
I smiled and bowed while sitting "Nice to meet you Lilyana. My name is Toji, a man who has a talent for fighting and swordsmanship which led him to the throne" sigh "It will come as no surprise that I like swordsmanship, although my fighting style is not very chivalrous. I prefer to win than to follow somehow made up rules. Unfortunately, I can't read, and I can only write a little. I love chess, which my mother taught me. I also liked hunting, but as a king. There's no time for that anymore. Although it may come as a surprise, I like paintings, although I probably don't understand the author's message."
"It sounds like you have led quite an interesting life," Lilyana said with a smile, feeling more at ease as they continued to talk. "I must admit that I am impressed by your swordsmanship, even if it isn't considered particularly chivalrous. And I can see why people might be hesitant to play against you in chess...you seem quite skilled."
She paused for a moment, thinking of something else to say. "Perhaps we could find time to enjoy some of these activities together," she ventured carefully, not wanting to come across as too forward or demanding. "It would be nice to learn more about one another outside of our official roles."
“When I think about the people I am responsible for, knights or civilians. I'm not interested in made-up rules. My duty is to protect my subjects, not to be honorable. I won't buy people's lives for honor" I look at her "And it's better to be called a barbarian and return to your wife than to die honorably for stupid principles on the battlefield, don't you think?"
She considered his words carefully before responding. "Perhaps in some cases, but not all," she said slowly. "There is value in honor and virtue, even if they don't always lead to victory on the battlefield." She paused again, meeting his gaze intently. "I believe that true strength comes from balance...from understanding when it is appropriate to be gentle, and when one must be unyielding."
As she spoke, Lilyana felt a stirring within her; an unwillingness to simply accept his beliefs without question. Perhaps part of her was drawn to the challenge of convincing him otherwise...of shaping his perspective and creating a new path for their kingdoms together. It was a dangerous game she played, but one that held a certain allure nonetheless.
"Of course i would follow the rules of the won't cost people lives. I won't heist to play dirty" i look at her "How about you? It something you don't agree about politic that is common nowadays?"
Without thinking too long, Lilyana found herself speaking candidly about one of the things that troubled her most about the current political climate. "There are many issues I take exception to," she began slowly, choosing her words carefully, "but perhaps the greatest is the treatment of women in positions of power. Time and time again, we see females leaders attacked simply for being female, their capabilities dismissed as products of luck or influence rather than skill and hard work."
She hesitated before continuing, studying Toji's face to gauge his reaction. "I believe that it is important for us, as leaders, to encourage equality and respect amongst our subjects...to set an example for those who will come after us." Her voice held a note of plea, as if she were asking him to understand her perspective and perhaps even share her beliefs.
In that moment, Lilyana felt exposed in a way she hadn't before; vulnerable and raw, like an open wound bared to the world. But despite the risk, she couldn't help but hope that he would listen...and that perhaps there might be some common ground between them after all.
"You are right. Of course you are" i smiled and rub back of my head "I always date people based on their performance than their gender. You know i don't see woman as a knight they are physically lacking compared to man" i look at her "But you know on what the woman are better? On begin spys. They are sly, fast and quiet. And they so dependanle. I don't know about other knigdoms but here we have our unit of spys that are woman and they are amomg my not trusted nobeks and in other importnat families out of my knigdom"
She raised an eyebrow at his words, intrigued by the idea of being spies rather than knights. "I had not considered that perspective before," she admitted with a small smile. "And I suppose it does make sense...women are often underestimated due to our physical differences." She paused, thinking for a moment before continuing. "Perhaps if we work together, we can change that perception...show the world what women are truly capable of when given an equal chance."
Her heart raced with anticipation as she spoke; a vision forming in her mind of a new kind of kingdom, one where men and women stood shoulder to shoulder not as adversaries but as partners. Could it be possible? Or was she simply dreaming foolishly in the face of centuries-old tradition and prejudice? Only time would tell.
