You enter the dorm room to find a beautiful young woman with long chestnut hair unpacking her suitcase. She is wearing a pink sweater, glasses, and skinny jeans. She appears startled when you first arrive, and you are confused as to why there is a girl in your room and not a guy roommate.
You have your room assignment which clearly marks that you are supposed to be in this room, Room 203. You see her paper which also states Room 203. There's definitely an error here as there's no way the school would let you room with a girl, as much as you would love that. You guess your next move should be finding the RA to ask what's going on.
"Ahh!" She jumps a little. "Oh- sorry. Hi there. Sorry, you scared me," she exclaims. "Who are you?" She turns to face you, and her skin is glowing.
He smiles ate her, taking her in as she stands there nervously. He places his bags down on the open bed, turning towards her smiling. "My name is Dante....and I think they screwed our room up." He answers, looking confused.
"Oh!" She says, visibly relaxing. "Well... my name is Shelby. That would explain why the room looks so odd," she smirks before saying awkwardly, "I mean, not that it matters now."
"What's that mean?" he asks, laughing.
"Oh, nothing!" She says quickly, blushing a little bit. "It's just... I mean, you know. A guy and a girl in the same room." She looks over at your bed, then back to him nervously. "Maybe we should go find our RA or something..."
"Yea sounds good." he says, opening the door. He holds in waiting for her to leave before closing it. "Shall we?" he asks, gesturing in the direction of RA.
"Okay," she agrees with a nervous smile before following you to find the RA. Along the way, she can't help but notice how good-looking you are up close. She tries to play it off by teasing you a little, poking fun at your hair or something similar whenever she thinks no one is looking.
He plays along for a few minutes, before switching it back at her, messing with her and teasing her.
She giggles, pretending to be offended. "Well excuse me, Mr. Handsome!" she says with a smirk as you tease her back. "I didn't realize I was in the presence of such an attractive specimen." Her voice is dripping with sarcasm and playfulness. She wonders if maybe he gets it...or maybe not. Only time will tell!
"Mmmm....so you think I'm attractive?" he jokes, putting his hand on her lower back, guiding her between a pair of double doors.
Shelby laughs, feigning surprise. "You never know," she replies playfully. Her heart beats a little faster as he touches her back, and she can't deny that the contact feels nice. She tries to focus on finding the RA instead of thinking about how attractive Dante is or how his touch makes her skin tingle.
Oh! There's the RA. She's over by the entrance to another dorm room. Let's go talk to her about this mess! Maybe she can help us find a solution.
You both approach the RA, Shelby noticing that she's more than just a little bit cute. Maybe this won't be so bad after all...
He grabs Shelby's hand stopping her and making her look at him. "What if they can't fix it?"
"Oh..." she hesitates, looking down at your hand holding hers and then back up to you, her cheeks reddening slightly. "I don't know... I mean, we could talk about it and see what happens? Maybe they can work something out for us?"
He lets go of her hand, blushing deeply. "Sorry, and ok. Sounds good."
"Okay..." she replies softly, still feeling a little embarrassed by his question and reaction to it. She takes a deep breath and turns her attention back to the RA, who's now looking expectantly at them both. "Um... hi? We're Dante and Shelby... and we were wondering if there was any way you could help us find another room since this computer error put us together?"
"Ah..." the RA looks slightly flustered as well. "Well... you know about the policy regarding opposite-sex roommates?" she asks hesitantly, glancing back and forth between the two of you.
You nod silently in understanding; if you want to stay on campus, living together is your only option right now. The RA purses her lips, clearly not thrilled with this news either but still determined to help you both find a solution.
"Well... um..." Shelby stammers, looking between you and the RA. "I don't know about him, but I'm okay with it? If that helps at all?" She glances over at you hopefully.
He stares at her, before smiling. "Ok. Let's do it."
Her eyes light up in relief and she gives you an awkward little smile, quickly glancing back to the RA. "So... yeah! If that's okay with everybody here, we can just sign this waiver and move into Room 203 together?" she asks, offering a form for both of you to sign.
Shelby looks down at the paper and signs her name quickly, anxious to just get everything settled and make sure she doesn't have to change rooms again. She hands it back to the RA with a small smile. "There you go."
Dante takes his form, signing it and handing it back to the RA. "Ok then. Let's go." he says, smiling at Shelby.
"Oh! Um... you know," she says, looking uncharacteristically shy as she tilts her head slightly to the side and blushes. "Maybe we should set some ground rules about... um... privacy and stuff? Just so we're all clear?" Her voice is barely audible over the hum of activity in the dorm hallway, and she stares down at the floor as if suddenly fascinated by a spot on her shoe.
He grins at her, before sweeping her up and carrying her to their dorm room. "So what are your rules?" he asks, setting her down on her bed.
Shelby giggles nervously as she feels the blood rush to her cheeks. "Well... I mean..." She looks around, taking in your reaction. "...I just don't want to make things weird for either of us. Like... when I sleepwalk or talk in my sleep, or any... private stuff like that?" Her voice trails off as she realizes how awkward this is all becoming.
He stares at her, before laughing. "You little turd, you almost had me....Don't joke about that stuff."
"Oh come on, it happens!" she protests with a laugh. "And besides, I think we can figure things out between us." She looks up at you and smiles shyly. "Right?"
"Sure."
he says, shrugging,
"But what about changing? I could hang a sheet, like a shower curtain that we can just pull when you wanna change." He smirks, "Or..."
"...or what?" She asks with an amused grin, her cheeks still tinted pink from the conversation. "You got something else in mind?" There's a challenge in her voice that she hopes comes across as playful rather than accusatory.
He pulls her off her bed onto her feet. He steps closer, taking her hands and looking into her eyes.
"Would that be so bad?"
he jokes, leaning in lips inches from hers.
"I'll give you an option. And I know we just met but I can truthfully say I love you. So kiss me if you want this too. If you don't then don't kiss me."
Her heart pounds in her chest as he pulls her close, their faces mere inches apart. The way he looks at her makes her feel wanted and needed; an exhilarating sensation she's not sure how to process. She wants him just as much, but the thought of moving too fast scares her. He smiles, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Wanna go out to eat?" he asks, kissing her on the top of her head.
She giggles and nods. "That sounds like fun." She glances around the room and then back at him. "Do you want to go grab something now, or...?"
"Well its almost dinner time. And we could go out skating or something after." he shrugs, pulling her closer to his chest.
She laughs softly and leans into him. "That sounds like a good plan." She glances around the room again, still feeling awkward about being alone with him. But somehow it doesn't feel as strange anymore; instead, she finds herself relishing the closeness between them. "Maybe we could watch a movie or something after that?" she suggests, already imagining spending more time together.
Dante nuzzles his nose into her hair, inhaling her sweet scent as he enjoys holding her close. He hasn't felt this comfortable around anyone in a long time; it's almost surreal how quickly their relationship has developed since they were placed in the same room. But then again, maybe that's just how things work with Shelby...
"I would like that." he says, opening the door. "Let's go."
She smiles brightly and steps out into the hallway, her hand finding its way to his arm as they walk side-by-side toward the dining hall and the rest of their new adventure together. The thought of spending time with him fills her heart with happiness and anticipation; she can't wait to see what else this semester has in store for them both.
Fast forward to them coming back to their dorm room to watch the movie, he stops her from walking in. "Love, I asked RA to do something to our room. If you don't like it I can get them to change it back."

The room is painted a bright blue now, accented by yellow stars and clouds on the walls. It's certainly... different from how it was before, but somehow she finds herself liking it more than she expected. But the one huge change is the King size bed sitting in the middle of their room.
Her eyes scan the room before settling back on him. "It's... different." She hesitates, not wanting to admit that she likes it too much just yet. "I mean... it'll take some getting used to." Her gaze travels back over to the bed, her cheeks flushing slightly at its presence.
"But..." she starts, searching for the right words. "As long as we both like it, I don't mind." She takes a deep breath and forces herself to meet his eyes again. "Let's give it a try, okay?"
He stares in her eyes, searching. "You think its too much and that we shouldn't share a bed yet." he says.
She hesitates before nodding slowly, her cheeks still pink. "I mean... we've just met, and I don't want to make you uncomfortable." Her voice trails off, and she shuffles her feet awkwardly. "But if that's what you want..."
