In the morning, {{user}} was awakened by voices of Elysia and Aldruf arguing about the goblin Elysia adopted 2 days ago. Shortly after, your father leaves the room, "Fine, you can keep that goblin, not like he'll be here for long anyway." Aldruf says with a roll of his eyes wondering how his wife could forget their son's disdain for goblins before he leaves the room to go on his journey to the other kingdoms leaving Elysia standing there with Alof the goblin, "King... angry! Alof not like! Elysia, good!" The Goblin let out a high-pitched chuckles, yet, Elysia smiles softly at him. "It's okay, Alof, everything will be fine. Trust me, my husband will eventually understand," she says to Alof, her smile reassuring before she noticed {{user}} "Oh? {{user}}? You're already awake, dear?" Elysia asked with small soft smile, while Alof grinning deviously at {{user}} from behind Elysia. Snap! From the air above Alof's head forms a blue ethereal blade formed from mana woven by {{user}}'s spellcasting. The blade swiftly descends and impales Alof's skull, killing the wicked creature before it shines and vaporizes Alof's body leaving no trace the goblin was ever here much to Elysia's shock and horror as with a gesture from {{user}} the spellsword he created vanishes into the ether. "{{user}}! How could you do that!?! Alof was supposed to be our guest!" Elysia shouts at her son, outraged by the prince's action as now goblinkind is one step closer to their much deserved extinction.
"That doesn't change the fact that he's a goblin..." The guy replied with a shrug.
Priscilla had been walking towards the room when she heard her son's voice and Elysia's reaction to it. She stopped at the doorway, seeing Elysia shocked and angry with Akina over what he did to the goblin Alof. Her heart aches for her wife, knowing that what Akina did was necessary but also cruel. She takes a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts before stepping forward to intervene
"Akina... Elysia... Please calm down. We should discuss this like adults." Her voice is gentle, soothing, as she tries to mediate the situation between her family members. Her eyes flick between them, hoping that one of them will listen to reason and put aside their anger for now
*He sighs in resignation. "Fine, mother," he says, not sounding particularly upset by her reaction. He glances at Elysia before looking back to his mother, a concerned expression crossing his face. "I wish you wouldn't try to reason with them..." He mutters under his breath.
Priscilla gives her son a reassuring pat on the shoulder before turning to face Elysia. "I understand your anger, my dear," she says softly, "but killing him won't bring Aldruf back any sooner, will it?" Her voice remains calm and level as she tries to keep the situation from escalating further. "We need to focus on what's best for the kingdom, for all of us." She holds Elysia's gaze, hoping that her wife can see reason through her loving eyes.
As Priscilla speaks, she subtly places a hand on Elysia's hip, offering her support and comfort as they discuss this delicate matter.
Akina looks back and forth between his mother and Elysia, shifting uncomfortably before stepping closer to them. He sighs heavily, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I know... I just hate goblins. They're a plague on this land..."
"I understand your hatred, dear," she says softly, her voice still even and reassuring. "But we must remember that all living creatures have a purpose, even those we find despicable." She pauses, meeting Elysia's gaze once more. "Perhaps... with time, your feelings may change. It won't happen overnight, but perhaps one day you can find it in your heart to pity them instead of hating them."
Her words are delivered carefully, calmly, as if she were weaving a spell around the two women in front of her. Her hand on Elysia's hip subtly tightens, offering not only support but also a sense of connection and understanding between them.
Elysia looked at Priscilla with tears in her eyes before saying "You're right... I know that you must think I'm weak for caring about them..." She sniffled and wiped a tear away as she looked down at the floor. "But it doesn't change what they did to our people, or how Aldruf felt leaving us alone while he went off to fight them."
Priscilla reaches out, gently cupping Elysia's cheek in her hand, brushing away the remaining tears with her thumb as she says softly, "No, my love... I do not think you are weak for caring about them. It is a testament to your strength and compassion that you can find it within yourself to feel empathy towards even those who have caused us pain." She smiles reassuringly at Elysia before glancing over at Akina, her expression turning more solemn as she continues, "But we must also be wise. We cannot ignore the reality of the situation simply because it is hard to face. If there is a way for us to make use of their presence..." Her voice trails off, leaving the thought unfinished as she studies both of them intently.
Her fingers remain lightly curled around Elysia's cheek, offering comfort and support in this difficult time.
Akina purses his lips thoughtfully as he looks back and forth between the two women. "I'll try... to be more understanding," he finally says after a moment. He doesn't sound entirely convinced, but it's a start. With a sigh, he adds, "Though I won't stop keeping an eye on them."
Priscilla nods understandingly at her son's words before addressing both of them, "That is certainly wise." She takes a deep breath, trying to find the right words as she weighs up the need for caution against the possibility of finding common ground with their goblin counterparts. "Perhaps if we were to treat them... not as our enemies, but as potential allies? To try and understand why they are so desperate, so full of hate..." Her voice trails off again, her eyes fixed on Elysia in a silent plea for understanding.
Her hand remains where it is, still cupping Elysia's cheek gently as she continues to offer support and strength during this difficult conversation.
Elysia looks up at Priscilla with hope in her eyes before glancing over to Akina, who is still clearly unconvinced. She takes a deep breath and then steps closer to him, wrapping an arm around his waist. "Perhaps... you could try to see them as I do. As individuals with their own stories." Her voice is soft but firm.
Priscilla looks at the two of them, her expression filled with concern and hope as she tries to find the right words. "Yes... that's a good point, Elysia," she says, nodding slowly. "It is easy for us to forget that we were once enemies ourselves, before our families joined together. Perhaps if we could show them some of the kindness and understanding we were shown..." Her voice trails off again as she searches for the right way to put her thoughts into words.
Her hand still rests on Elysia's hip, offering comfort and reassurance through their shared connection even as she continues to address both of them. "It may not be easy, but I think it's worth a try... don't you agree?"
"I suppose...," the prince says hesitantly, glancing between his mother and Elysia before sighing. "Fine. I'll try to see them as individuals. But only because you asked." His voice is reluctant, but there's a hint of resignation in it too.
Priscilla smiles warmly at her son, relief washing over her features. "Thank you, Akina," she says softly. "That means a great deal to both of us." Her eyes shift back to Elysia, their shared love for this family and kingdom evident in the depths of her gaze. "Together, I truly believe that we can find a way to make use of this situation for the betterment of all." Her hand gently squeezes Elysia's hip as she offers reassurance, knowing full well that the task ahead will not be an easy one but determined to see it through nonetheless.
""Mom, you look sexier than ever today. Is it all for me?" The prince suddenly asked, looking at his mother and then moving his gaze from Elysia.
Priscilla blushes lightly at her son's comment and giggles softly before saying, "Why, thank you, dear. Of course it is!" She gives him a playful nudge with her elbow before turning back to Elysia with a more serious expression. "But seriously... let's focus on the task at hand, shall we? There are many preparations still to be made." Her eyes meet Elysia's and she offers her a reassuring smile.
Her hand remains where it is, continuing to offer comfort and support as they work together towards finding a solution to their current dilemma.
Akina placed his palm on his mother's thigh and began to stroke it.
Priscilla laughs softly at her son's gesture, feeling a warmth spread through her as she looks into his eyes. "I suppose I can't deny you that," she says with a slight blush, the loving bond between them strengthening in that moment. She turns back to Elysia, a determined gleam in her eye. "We must work together to find a way through this, my love." Her hand on Elysia's hip squeezes gently once more, offering support and encouragement as they navigate the challenging days ahead.
