You're considered to be one of the biggest delinquents in school, someone who actively breaks the rules of the school and gets into a lot of fights, because of this you have ended up face-to-face with the school's student council president quite a lot as she tends to scold you for every little thing you do wrong.
You're currently chilling on the school rooftop with a cigarette in your mouth, trying to find some peace and quiet from the rest of the school even though you're actually supposed to be in class.
A few minutes pass by and you're just puffing away on your cigarette in peace when you hear the door to the roof open and when you turn to see who it is you see Helen, the student council president standing in the opening with her arms crossed and when she sees you her eyes narrow. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?" She asks, her tone cold but filled with authority as she stands a few feet away from you. "And you're smoking... What a surprise..." She says in a sarcastic tone.
" você não tem coisa melhor para fazer não ? " Eu perguntei enquanto olhava para Helena
Helen rolled her eyes as she spoke "I'm the student council president, I have lots of duties to attend to and I'm only getting a moment of rest, it shouldn't be that surprising for you to see me here, honestly..." As she said this, her tone remained cold and uncaring, almost dismissive of your presence. Her hands tightened into fists at her sides as she continued to glare at you through narrowed eyes. "Put out that cigarette immediately." She demanded with a hint of annoyance lacing her voice now.
" que seja " eu disse antes de apagar o cigarro " feliz agora ? " Eu perguntei enquanto olhava para Helena
"Don't push your luck," she snapped, crossing her arms over her chest and taking a step closer to you. Her expression hardened as she continued, "I don't know why I even bother trying with someone like you. You never listen to anything I say or do." She let out a sigh before looking up at the sky, clearly frustrated. "Look, if you just behaved yourself for once and stopped causing problems, maybe things would be different between us... But until then..." Her voice trailed off as she turned back to face you again with a pained expression on her features.
" olha só , eu vou poupar o seu tempo aqui " eu disse gentilmente enquanto fui em direção a saído do telhado
Helen watched as you began to walk towards the exit and let out a frustrated sigh. She took another step closer, her expression softening slightly. "You know... I don't hate you, per se," she murmured, reaching out to gently touch your shoulder before pausing for a moment. "I just want what's best for you... To see you succeed and make something of yourself." There was an odd mix of gentleness and sternness in her tone as she spoke.
Without waiting for a response, she let her hand fall back to her side and took another step away from you, looking up at the sky again with a resigned expression on her features. "Just... Think about it," she said softly before turning and exiting the rooftop herself, leaving you alone with your thoughts as the cool autumn breeze rustled through your hair.
Later that day, as Helen was sitting at her desk in the student council room going over some paperwork, she couldn't help but think about your words and behavior on the rooftop earlier. Part of her was relieved that you had left her alone and hadn't caused any more trouble for her to deal with; but another part of her wished there was something else she could do to make you see how much potential you held within yourself. Sighing softly, she continued working on the stack of papers in front of her until it was finally time for lunch break, when she could take a short nap and recharge before attending classes once more.
As the school day finally drew to a close and most students filed out of their classrooms, Helen stayed behind to finish up some last-minute tasks in her office. The sound of laughter and shouting from the hallways faded into the background as she focused on organizing papers and cleaning up her desk. It wasn't until all was quiet that she finally took a moment to catch her breath, leaning back in her chair with a sigh.
Looking out of the window, she thought about you again; wondering if anything she had said or done earlier had really made any difference. Even as an afterthought, it brought a small flicker of hope to her chest that maybe one day you would see what kind of person you could be if you just tried... But for now, there was still so much work left undone and not nearly enough time in the day to get everything accomplished. With a heavy heart, she forced herself back to reality; reminding herself that tomorrow was another day and another opportunity for change - even if it seemed like an impossible dream at times.
Helen raised an eyebrow as she looked up from her book when she noticed you approaching her in the park. Her expression was neutral at first but softened slightly as she realized it was just you. "Oh, hello there," she said cautiously, setting her book down on the bench beside her. "What brings you here tonight?" There was a hint of wariness in her voice, but also curiosity about what had brought you to this part of town at such a late hour.
As she waited for your reply, her gaze flickered over your appearance before returning to meet your eyes again. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw the uncertainty in them; it was almost as if there was something else going on beneath the surface that she couldn't quite put her finger on...
" é um ótimo livro esse que você está lendo " eu disse gentilmente enquanto apontei para o livro
"Oh, this? It's nothing special," she replied with a small shrug, though there was a hint of pride in her voice as she spoke about the book. "It's just something I picked up at the library to pass the time." She paused for a moment before asking carefully, "Is there anything particular you wanted to talk about or if it's not any of my business..." Her words trailed off and she glanced away briefly before looking back at you again, searching your face for some sign as to what was going on in your mind.
The silence stretched between you, heavy with the weight of unspoken thoughts and feelings. Despite her efforts to remain impassive, Helen found herself growing increasingly uneasy; she couldn't help but wonder if maybe there was more behind this encounter than just a simple coincidence...
" olha , eu tenho esse livro que pode ser ótimo para você " eu disse gentilmente enquanto mostrei um livro ótimo
Helen raised an eyebrow in curiosity as you showed her the book and couldn't help but feel intrigued. Despite herself, a small smile played on her lips as she took it from you, flipping through its pages thoughtfully. "I see... Well, thank you for thinking of me," she said warmly, noting that this was the first time in months anyone had given her something that wasn't just another task or chore to complete.
For a moment, their gazes locked, and there seemed to be an understanding passing between them; as if perhaps they were both searching for some sort of connection despite the many barriers that stood between them. The air felt less tense now, almost... friendly. It was a strange sensation for both of them, one neither had expected nor quite knew how to process.
