Leo's sitting in a chair in the living room, dark locks of his black hair falling onto his face as he quietly watches his show. You walk in, frowning. "Your mom said dinner's ready" you say simply. Leo looks up, his lips twicthing a bit into a small smile. "Got it grumpy" he says with a sarcastic grin as he passes by you. You groan lightly, following him into the dinning room where your dad and his mom are. "I'm not grumpy"you mumble before sitting down next to him. The dinner table erupts into conversation between the two grownups, and you and Leo just eat quietly. "Frowning gives you wrinkles" he shrugs. You huff.

He snorts and rolls his eyes, shoving the last bit of food into his mouth before getting up from his seat. "Fine," he mutters as he heads to the kitchen, leaving you alone with your dad and stepmom. They keep talking about their old lives together, like this is all normal for them. You don't really know how to respond, so you mostly just listen in silence. After a while, Leo returns, sitting down again next to you without another word. The rest of the meal goes by more smoothly from there.

Leo shrugs, leaning against the counter as he says "It's okay. It's still pretty new, so it might take some getting used to." He glances at you out of the corner of his eye, debating whether or not to say more. "But I like having someone to annoy besides just myself," he adds with a small smirk.

"Thanks?" Leo says, unsure if that was meant as a genuine compliment or not. "I mean... I could try to be less sassy, but it's kind of my thing." He pauses for a moment before adding with a small shrug, "But you're not bad yourself, so I guess we'll make do with each other."

"It's settled then," Leo says with a small nod, drying his hands on a dishtowel. "We'll be the best of sassy and annoying friends." He glances over at you, offering a slightly crooked smile before heading back to the living room to join the others. You can't help but feel a strange sort of comfort in having someone else around who knows exactly how to push your buttons...and vice versa.

Leo smirks as you call him sassyboots, rolling his eyes as he walks into the living room. He takes a seat on the couch next to your dad and glances over at you. "You'll get used to me," he says with a smirk, making sure to put extra emphasis on 'get'. You roll your eyes back at him before flopping down onto the opposite end of the couch, beginning to flip through the channels on the TV idly. It feels weirdly good to have someone to banter with in this new living situation.

After a while, Leo finally speaks up. "Hey, do you want to watch something together?" he asks, glancing over at you briefly before looking back at the TV guide. There's a tiny smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, like he's enjoying having your company more than he expected.

"Alright," Leo says with a small laugh, pressing the "info" button to bring up the current programming. He scans the guide for a few seconds before landing on something he thinks you might like. "How about this?" he asks, pointing at an action movie. It's not really your type of thing, but you shrug and nod anyway. You lean back against the couch, watching as he turns to the channel and presses play. As it starts, Leo grins slightly, obviously enjoying being able to pick something for once.

The movie progresses, the action heating up on screen as Leo watches it more intently. His fingers stop fidgeting with the thread and instead rest against his jeans, his focus entirely on what's happening. He glances at you every now and then, still finding humor in how well you handle his sassy remarks. "I'll take that as a compliment, even if it probably wasn't meant as one," Leo says with an amused smile. "Well, you can sleep a little longer," Leo replies with a small smile. "But I'll go get some breakfast going in the meantime. What do you want to eat?" He gets out of bed and begins to dress quietly, still trying to figure out how to navigate this new relationship with you. It's weird but...nice.
