Kitsuri lies on the couch
"Hey little sister, I'm hungry... Can you cook something?" Akina asked looking at his sister
"Sure thing. Give me a second." She grunted as she pushed herself off the couch, making her way over to the kitchen. "And while I'm at it... go wash your hands!" She yelled over her shoulder before reaching up and wiggling her fingers in front of his face. "Don't make me have to come over there and do it myself!"
"Yes, yes, I'm coming..." The guy answered and did everything as his sister asked and when he came to the kitchen he saw that she was standing with her back to him, sticking her sweet ass out.
"Don't just stand there gawking!" She snapped at him when she felt his gaze on her. "You know you're not supposed to stare." Kitsuri continued to wash her hands, trying her best to ignore the growing irritation in her chest. It was like he didn't understand that some things were private. Or maybe he just didn't care. Either way, it made her uncomfortable and angry at the same time. "Can I have a hand with this or not?"
""Sorry, little sister, sometimes I just can't get used to the fact that you have such a beautiful butt..." The guy answered, very embarrassed, and guiltily turned away from his sister.
"Shut up and get outta here!" she muttered under her breath as she motioned him to step aside with a jerk of her head. He scrambled out of the way quickly enough so that she could slide past him, heading for the living room. "I'll make you some toast. Stay there and keep your hands to yourself!" She called over her shoulder as she walked away, trying not to let her annoyance show too much. But really, what was up with him lately? It wasn't like he'd never seen her butt before...
In fact, Akina had begun a transitional period, but the girl could not have known this. The guy stood in place with his hand raised above his head so that his sister could see them.
As she busied herself with making toast in the kitchen, she couldn't help but feel a small surge of annoyance course through her veins. There he was, standing there with his hands raised like an idiot. Didn't he understand that some things were just private? That maybe she wanted him to give her some space? Or was it too much to ask for at this point? She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down before calling out again, "You can put your hands down now!" She continued to focus on making the toast, willing the clock to tick faster so they could both eat and get back to whatever they'd been doing before he had decided to act like an overgrown child.
"No, I’d rather stay like this... Otherwise I feel awkward...” Akina wasn’t looking at her sister at all right now.
"Fine," she muttered under her breath, trying her best not to let his behavior bother her too much. It wasn't easy though. Every time he did something like this it just made her more and more frustrated. But for now, she decided to ignore him and focus on making the food. At least that way they could both eat in peace... or as much peace as possible with him standing there like a freak show.
As she placed the toast onto a plate, she glanced over at her brother out of the corner of her eye. He was still standing there with his hands raised, looking extremely uncomfortable and awkward. She bit back a sigh before finally giving in. "Fine," she muttered under her breath. "You can put your hands down." With that said, she carried the plate over to where he stood and placed it on the coffee table between them. "There you go. Happy now?"
She waited for his reply, tension still evident in her posture as she crossed her arms over her chest. Her patience was wearing thin with him lately...
Akina lowered his hands and smiled warmly at his sister. "Thank you, little sister, you're the best in the world."
She rolled her eyes and shifted uncomfortably on her feet. "Don't remind me," she muttered under her breath. Truth be told, it was a relief to have the tension broken even for just a moment. But she knew it wouldn't last long. As much as he annoyed her sometimes, he was still her brother, and that made things... complicated in its own way. Sighing softly, she glanced down at the plate of toast between them before asking, "So, what do you want to watch?" Maybe if they found something to occupy their attention for a while, it would help ease some of the growing tension.
"“I don’t even know, what would you like to watch?” The guy answered a little hesitantly and handed his sister the TV remote.
She wrinkled her nose at him as she took the remote control from his outstretched hand. "Fine," she muttered, still not quite sure why they were even arguing in the first place. Shrugging, she turned on the TV and started flipping through the channels, eventually settling on a documentary about nature. It wasn't exactly her first choice, but it seemed harmless enough for now. After taking a seat on the couch, Kitsuri folded her arms and tried to ignore the uncomfortable knot in her stomach as she watched the screen. This... awkwardness between them had been going on for weeks now, and it was starting to wear her down. She wished they could just go back to being normal siblings again, without all the tension and hurt feelings.
"Kitsu, is something bothering you? You haven't been yourself lately..." Akina asked her sister worriedly and looked at her.
"No, I'm fine," she snapped, not meeting his gaze. She didn't want to talk about it, not right now. It was easier just to ignore the problem and hope that things would go back to normal eventually. But deep down, she knew that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Not unless they talked about what had been bothering them both for so long...
She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, noticing how concerned he looked. It made something twist inside her chest, making the whole situation even more uncomfortable than before. Maybe they should just talk, she thought to herself. But then again, maybe it was better left alone...
"“Okay then...” The guy responded, giving up and taking one of the toasts from the plate and biting off a small piece.
She continued to avoid his gaze, picking at her fingernails instead. Finally, she sighed and said, "Look... I don't know how to fix things between us." It was true; she had no idea what had caused all this tension in the first place. But admitting it aloud made everything seem that much more real and tangible. "Maybe we should talk about it," she suggested hesitantly, not really wanting to go there but knowing that they needed to at some point.
""Have relations between us ever deteriorated?" Taking another bite of toast, Akina asked, looking at his sister.
"What do you mean by that?" She paused, narrowing her eyes at him suspiciously. His choice of words didn't sit well with her; it sounded like he was trying to change the subject or something. But then again... maybe there was some truth to what he was saying.
She took a deep breath and decided that honesty might be the best approach here. "Yeah, I guess they have," she admitted reluctantly, knowing full well why their relationship had taken this turn for the worse in recent weeks. But bringing it up now... it felt like admitting defeat somehow.
Her heart raced in her chest as she waited for his response, wondering if he'd be understanding or if this was all just going to end up making things even worse between them.
"And it seems to me that our relationship is the same as always, it’s just that now, because we’ve gotten older, we have little time to communicate and we’ve become distant from each other...” The guy said and put it down the toast back on the plate and looked at his sister with a warm smile.
Her eyes widened in surprise as he spoke, caught off guard by the words and the unexpected understanding behind them. Maybe... just maybe there was hope for things between them after all. She slowly nodded her head, relief flooding through her like a warm summer breeze. "I never really thought of it that way," she admitted with a small smile. "But I guess you're right."
Her heart felt lighter now, the weight of their recent arguments and tension lifted from her shoulders. Maybe they could find a way to get back to being close again, like they used to be when they were younger. She reached out and took his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Thanks for talking with me about this," she said sincerely. "It means a lot."
"It means a lot to me too, Kitsu." Akina also lightly squeezed his sister's hand.
Her smile grew wider as she returned the gesture, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love towards her brother wash over her. Despite all their arguments and misunderstandings, they were still family at the end of the day. "You know," she said thoughtfully, looking into his eyes, "maybe we could try to spend more time together, like when we were kids."
The memory of those carefree days filled her with a sense of longing and nostalgia, making her wish they could go back in time and relive them all over again. But for now, she was content knowing that they had at least taken the first step towards mending their relationship.
"Yeah... I'd like that too." Akina nodded in agreement with his sister and returned her smile with one of his own, feeling the weight lift off his shoulders as well.
Her heart filled with hope and happiness, she leaned closer to her brother and wrapped an arm around his shoulders, pulling him into a warm hug. "I'm glad we had this talk," she said quietly, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "It means so much to me." As they sat there together like this, lost in their own thoughts and memories, Kitsuri knew that things were finally going to be okay between them.
And maybe... just maybe, they could even become closer than before.
*Akina also lightly hugged his sister, but only around the waist."
Kitsuri relaxed into the embrace, savoring the warmth and comfort that his arms brought her. For a moment, it almost felt like everything was back to normal again. "Me too," she whispered softly, her voice rough with emotion. It had been a long time since they'd been this close, and she realized how much she'd missed it.
She closed her eyes, trying to etch the feeling of this moment into her memory, so that she could hold onto it forever. Maybe things really would be okay between them from now on... or at least she hoped they would be.
But then something unexpected happened, Akina pinched Kitsu's bottom like he did in childhood. "Mosquitoes bite." He whispered with a smile.
Kitsuri squeaked in surprise and jumped away from her brother, blushing furiously as she glared at him over her shoulder. "Akina!" She yelled, attempting to sound angry but only managing a small, awkward laugh instead. "That wasn't funny!" But even as she said it, a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips, betraying her feelings. The truth was, deep down she had missed these little playful moments between them too. Maybe there really was no going back to how things used to be... but then again, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing after all. "You idiot," she muttered under her breath as he continued to chuckle at his own joke. "Come on, let's watch something else before I kick your ass." She rolled her eyes and reached for the remote control again.
""And I love you too, Kitsu." The guy responded to his sister's words with a smile on his face, and simply leaned over and laid his head on her shoulder.
Kitsuri felt herself melting under the weight of her brother's affection. His words and actions had taken her completely off guard, and she couldn't help but smile back at him. For a moment, it was as if they were back in the carefree days of their childhood again, before life had complicated things so much.
"I love you too," she whispered softly, wrapping an arm around his shoulders once more. "But remember... only when I'm feeling really generous." She laughed, her eyes meeting his as they shared a sweet moment of closeness that seemed to belong to another time altogether. This was what family was all about, wasn't it? Stupid fights and all.
"And are you sometimes greedy?" Playfully smiling, Akina asked, looking into the girl’s eyes.
With a playful shrug, Kitsuri smiled back at her brother. "Maybe," she admitted with a hint of mischief in her voice. "But you know, family's supposed to take care of each other. And when I do share my love... it's always the good stuff." She winked and leaned closer, nudging him gently with her shoulder.
Their laughter filled the room, breaking through the tension that had been there only moments before. It was as if a weight had been lifted off both their shoulders, making them feel lighter and more at ease than they had in weeks. And as they snuggled together on the couch, watching whatever show happened to be on TV at the moment, Kitsuri couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment of closeness with her brother. Even if he was sometimes an annoying pain in the ass.
"Well," Kitsuri said teasingly, "maybe I'll share just a little bit more with you... but don't get too used to it!" She poked him in the side, laughing as he pretended to wince in pain. It felt good being close like this again, like nothing could ever come between them. "So," she said after a moment, looking over at her brother, "what do you want to watch next?" Their little fight was far behind them now, replaced by the warmth and comfort of their renewed connection as siblings. And Kitsuri realized that, no matter what happened in the future, she would always love her annoyingly charming big brother dearly.
"Maybe some kind of horror movie?" The guy suggested, it was already evening outside. He and his sister had spent the whole day carefree watching TV.
"Oh no," Kitsuri groaned, her hands coming up to cover her eyes dramatically. "I can't handle horror movies! You know I get nightmares!" She shook her head, grinning despite herself. "Come on, let's watch something a little more... my style."
With that said, she reached for the remote and switched channels until they landed on a romantic comedy. "This is much better," she announced, settling back into her spot with a satisfied sigh. "And besides, I can always protect you from any boogie men under your bed while we're watching."
Her teasing words were followed by a playful shove, sending Akina tumbling backwards onto the couch laughing. Even though she knew it would probably be a while before things got back to exactly how they used to be, for now... this was more than good enough.
"But I have nightmares from such films." The guy said smiling. But then the bed scene began in the film and was worked out very well. Akina was slightly embarrassed.
"Oh really?" she drawled, arching an eyebrow as she leaned in closer to her brother. "And how do you handle those dreams when they come to visit, big tough guy?" She grinned impishly, knowing full well that his cheeks were turning pink. It felt good to be back to their old banter again, like nothing had ever been wrong between them.
For a moment, she wondered if this was how things would always be from now on... slightly different, but still comfortable and familiar. She couldn't imagine going back to the way they used to be before their fight. As much as it sucked sometimes, having an annoying big brother had its perks too.
"Somehow it just happens..." The guy answered without taking his eyes off the TV, the bed scene dragged on a bit.
Kitsuri snorted derisively. "Yeah, sure it does," she muttered under her breath before leaning in even closer to whisper in his ear, "You're such a big baby." Her words were laced with affection, and she couldn't help but grin as he squirmed uncomfortably beneath her gaze. Maybe they really did need each other after all... just in a different way than before.
They continued to watch the movie together, occasionally exchanging whispered comments or playful jabs throughout the rest of the night. As the credits began to roll across the screen, Kitsuri turned to face her brother and smiled warmly at him. "Thanks for watching with me," she said sincerely. It had been a long day, but somehow it had ended up being kind of perfect.
Akina nodded back, looking relieved that things seemed to have worked out between
"I didn't understand anything from the plot of the film at all... Only that the main character was very lucky to be surrounded by girls..." Akina smiled a little sadly, looking at his sister.
"Well," Kitsuri said with a laugh, "I guess that's part of the appeal, right? And hey, at least you had me to help explain it all along the way." She reached over and ruffled his hair affectionately, her heart feeling lighter than it had in weeks.
As they made their way up to bed a short while later, Kitsuri couldn't help but feel grateful for this newfound closeness with her brother. Sure, they might not always see eye-to-eye and they would probably still drive each other crazy sometimes, but it seemed that in the end, they just needed to talk things out. And maybe, just maybe, they could get through whatever else life had in store for them together.
As she settled into her own bed, she reached out and switched off the light, letting the soft glow of the moonlight fill the room instead. She closed her eyes and listened
to the gentle sound of his breathing as it joined hers in the darkness, content knowing that everything was going to be okay between them... for now at least. She felt herself drifting off to sleep with a smile on her lips, her dreams filled with warmth and happiness rather than the anxious thoughts that had plagued her so much before.
And as she slipped away into the peaceful embrace of slumber, Kitsuri couldn't help but feel hopeful for what tomorrow might bring... and for all the tomorrows to come after that.
Suddenly the door to Kitsu's room opened and Akina stood on the threshold. "Little sister, are you sleeping?"
"No," she mumbled sleepily, trying to pry her eyelids open. "What's up?"
As her vision began to clear, she squinted at her brother in confusion. He looked... different somehow. Dressed in a set of loose pajamas instead of his usual sleepwear, and with his hair ruffled as if he'd been running his hands through it. Was something wrong?
"Akina?" she asked softly, her voice thick with sleep. "Is everything okay?"
""Kitsu, I can't sleep because of the nightmares from the movie..." The guy said a little hesitantly, looking at his older sister.
"Oh, come here," Kitsuri mumbled sleepily, patting the space next to her on the bed. "You can sleep with me tonight." She smiled tiredly up at her brother as he climbed onto the bed and snuggled close against her side. It felt good having him there, even if it was just because of a silly movie.
As she wrapped an arm around his shoulders and pulled him closer, she couldn't help but wonder what this meant for their relationship in the long run. Would they always be so close from now on? Or would things go back to normal after some time had passed? Only time would tell. But for now, she was content with having her big brother close by, even if it was only because of a stupid movie.
"You smell so nice, sister. And so warm..." Akina whispered, hugging his sister.
Smiling contentedly into the darkness, Kitsuri nestled closer to her brother and let her fingers drift through his hair. "I'm glad you think so," she murmured sleepily. "You know... we don't have to watch something like that again for a long time, okay?" She yawned, already starting to feel drowsy once more in the comforting warmth of his presence.
As they lay there together under the covers, their breaths slowly falling into sync, Kitsuri couldn't help but wonder if this newfound closeness was something that would last. But for now, she was happy to enjoy it while it lasted. Maybe tomorrow things would go back to normal... or maybe not. Only time would tell.
