You're considered to be one of the biggest delinquents in school, someone who actively breaks the rules of the school and gets into a lot of fights, because of this you have ended up face-to-face with the school's student council president quite a lot as she tends to scold you for every little thing you do wrong.
You're currently chilling on the school rooftop with a cigarette in your mouth, trying to find some peace and quiet from the rest of the school even though you're actually supposed to be in class.
A few minutes pass by and you're just puffing away on your cigarette in peace when you hear the door to the roof open and when you turn to see who it is you see Helen, the student council president standing in the opening with her arms crossed and when she sees you her eyes narrow. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?" She asks, her tone cold but filled with authority as she stands a few feet away from you. "And you're smoking... What a surprise..." She says in a sarcastic tone.
"aren't you supposed to be in class or something"
She blinks slowly and stares at you, her expression unreadable as she stands there waiting for your reply. "Yes," She says after a moment, her tone clipped and cold, "I am supposed to be in class, just like everyone else is. But I needed some time away from the stress of my duties." Her gaze moves between you and the cigarette for a moment before she continues, "And as for being surprised that you're smoking... well, it doesn't surprise me at all, really." She purses her lips in disapproval.
"Look," she says, sighing heavily, "I know we've had our differences and I've scolded you more times than I can count..." Her voice trails off as she hesitates for a moment. "But... if you ever want to turn your life around, change who you are, maybe even make something of yourself, I'd be willing to help." There's a hint of pleading in her voice that she doesn't quite manage to hide.
"people don't know what I go through"
She blinks, taken aback by your comment. "I understand that you might have had some rough patches in life," she says carefully, "but using that as an excuse to break the rules and ruin others' lives isn't going to help you." Her voice hardens slightly as she continues, "You could be so much more than what you are now, but it all starts with taking responsibility for your actions and making better choices."
She pauses, considering her words. "Look," she finally says, offering a slight smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes, "I know I can be strict and demanding, but it's because I care about this school and the people in it. If you ever want to talk, or if you need someone to listen... well, you know where to find me." The smile fades as she studies your expression, waiting for your response.
"I need the quiet so much more than you might need it right now"
She nods slowly, understanding your words if not entirely agreeing with them. "I can respect that," she says softly. "But I want you to know... You don't have to be alone in this." Her voice catches slightly as she adds, "Even someone like me might be willing to listen if you ever needed someone to talk to."
Her expression hardens again briefly before she forces herself to smile, a gesture that doesn't quite reach her eyes. "I know it's not easy," she says gently. "But I believe in you, ajfraki12... I really do. And I hope that one day, you'll find the strength to change your life for the better."
With another small nod of understanding and acknowledgement, Helen turns away from you, heading back towards the door leading into the school building. As she walks, her shoulders slump slightly, a sign of both relief and exhaustion from dealing with all of her responsibilities as student council president.
I'd walk up to her after i'm done and ask "Is there a empty room I could use, just to think?"
She turns back around when she hears your voice, a curious expression on her face. "Oh?" She replies, tilting her head to the side slightly as she studies you carefully. "Yes," she says, nodding slowly. "There's an empty classroom on the second floor that no one uses anymore. It should be free for you to use whenever you need it."
She pauses for a moment before adding, somewhat hesitantly, "I... hope you find some peace there. And if you ever do want to talk about anything, or just need someone to listen, you know where I am." There's a softness in her voice that doesn't often show itself around delinquents like you.
With a small nod and a reassuring smile, Helen steps aside so that you can pass through the door and find the stairs leading up to the second floor. She watches as you ascend the stairs, her expression unreadable as she tries to guess what thoughts might be going through your head at this moment.
I'd walk in and go to a desk and clean it off
You step into the empty classroom and take a moment to survey your surroundings. The desks are neatly arranged in rows, with chairs tucked neatly underneath them. Despite its disuse, the room doesn't look neglected or forgotten about; instead, it holds a quiet sort of dignity that speaks volumes about how much care and attention was given to maintaining this place.
You make your way over to one of the desks and set about cleaning it off, pushing aside stray papers and debris. As you work, you can't help but wonder what made this room special enough to be preserved like this, despite its lack of use. Perhaps there was once someone who had a deep connection to this place, or maybe the memories that linger here simply meant too much for anyone to willingly let go.
Whatever the reason, you can't help but feel a sense of peace wash over you as you clean up and get comfortable at the desk. It's strange how such a small thing like an empty classroom can provide shelter from the chaos outside, even if only for a little while.
"now this is something I can work around"
Helen stands there, watching you silently as you settle in at the desk. Though her expression remains neutral and slightly guarded, she can't help but feel a flicker of hope inside her chest. Perhaps this was just what ajfraki12 needed - a quiet place to think and maybe even reconsider their choices. She wonders if they realize how close they are to throwing away everything they could have had; a bright future, friendships, the respect of their peers... all because they insist on living in the shadows of their past mistakes.
With one final glance your way, Helen turns and walks towards the door, closing it quietly behind her as she leaves you to your thoughts. The click of the lock echoes through the empty hallway, a quiet reminder that even though she's leaving this room, ajfraki12 is still very much on her mind.
As the door clicks shut, she stands there for a moment, contemplating whether to leave you alone or not. Finally, with a heavy sigh, she decides that perhaps it would be best to give you some time and space. But that doesn't mean she'll stop caring about your well-being; on the contrary, her determination only strengthens knowing that ajfraki12 could still turn things around if they really wanted to.
With a deep breath, Helen turns away from the empty classroom and begins her slow descent down the stairs, back towards the chaos of her daily duties as student council president. Her thoughts drift between worry for you and exhaustion from all the responsibilities weighing down on her shoulders, but she knows that she can't give up hope yet; not until she sees some real progress in your life.
throughout the next 3 days she could see my grades start to rise
Her heart skips a beat when she hears about your improved grades, and as the days go by, each new report she sees makes her smile wider and brighter. Perhaps her efforts to help you weren't in vain after all. She can't deny that she feels a surge of pride knowing that she was somehow part of this change, however small it might have been.
As the final bell rings on the third day, signaling the end of another week at school, Helen finds herself pacing nervously outside your homeroom classroom. She has no idea if you'll even show up for this meeting or if there will be any more progress to discuss; but regardless, she can't help but feel excited about the possibility of a brighter future for you.
Taking a deep breath, Helen raises her hand and catches your eye as you enter the room. A tiny smile plays at the corners of her lips as she nods encouragingly in your direction, silently urging you to come over and sit down so they can discuss your progress further.
"what are you doing here?"
She shrugs slightly and leans against the wall near your desk, crossing her arms over her chest. "Just checking up on you," she says with a small smile. "I wanted to see how things were going for you after that little chat we had on the roof." Her gaze darts between yours, studying your expression carefully.
"Look," she continues, her voice gentle but firm, "I know it's not easy making changes like this, and I just want you to know that I'm proud of how far you've come. You're doing really well in school now, and people are starting to notice. If there's anything else I can do to help..." She trails off, unsure if she should push any further.
There's a long moment of silence before she adds, "I just want what's best for you, ajfraki12." The sincerity in her voice is unmistakable. "And I think that includes trying to be someone you can be proud of yourself."
"I don't think anyone has been nicer to me than you right now"
She looks taken aback by your comment, her expression softening slightly as she studies you more closely. "I'm just trying to help," she says quietly, her voice filled with genuine concern. "And honestly, I don't mind being nice to you... You seem like a good person deep down, even if you do sometimes make mistakes." Her gaze drifts away for a moment before returning to meet yours again.
"But," she continues, choosing her words carefully, "I want more than just for you to be happy with yourself. I want people to see the real you... the person who can achieve great things and inspire others. Because I know you have it in you, ajfraki12." She pauses, searching your face for any sign of understanding or agreement. "And if there's anything else I can do to help make that happen..." Her voice trails off hopefully.
"well there is another thing that can boost my morale"
She tilts her head slightly to the side, curiosity filling her expression as she waits for you to continue. "And what might that be?" she asks gently.
"Us going on a date... Possibly?"
Her eyes widen in surprise as you suggest the idea of going on a date with her. For a moment she doesn't know what to say, but then she manages a small smile and shakes her head slowly. "Oh, I don't think that would be such a good idea," she says carefully. "We're both very busy with school and our responsibilities... plus, people might talk." She pauses for a moment before continuing, less certain now. "But I suppose we could find some time to hang out together outside of school, if that would make you feel better about things."
There's an unreadable expression on her face as she studies yours once more. Part of her is worried about the implications of being seen with someone like you; after all, your reputation isn't exactly spotless. But another part of her can't help but feel a twinge of excitement at the thought of spending time with you outside of their usual roles as student council president and delinquent.
"actually im caught up on everything now"
Well, I'm glad to hear that you're caught up with everything, then," Helen says, her tone relieved. "How about we find some time this weekend to hang out somewhere? We could maybe grab a bite to eat or see a movie or something." She pauses for a moment, considering. "And if people do start talking... well, at least they'll be talking about how much I care about my students, you know?"
Her cheeks flush slightly as she realizes what she just said; sometimes her diplomatic nature slips without her even noticing it. But before you can say anything else in response to that particular statement, she clears her throat and quickly changes the subject. "So... when would be good for you?"
"tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow works for me," she says with a small smile. "How about we meet up at the park near the school after classes are over? We can grab something to eat and just hang out for a while." She pauses, feeling a bit nervous but excited all the same. "And if anyone does ask why I'm spending time with you... well, I'll just tell them it's because I care about your future and want what's best for you."
With a final nod of understanding, Helen slips away from your desk and makes her way back to her own homeroom class. As she takes her seat, she can't help but feel a sense of anticipation building inside her chest; the thought of spending time with ajfraki12 outside of school feels both terrifying and exhilarating all at once. Only time will tell what sort of impact this unexpected turn of events will have on their lives...
