My business is still running perfectly thanks to some great employees back in the States... But..." She paused, hesitating for a moment before continuing. "...But I just wanted to see my family again... after all these years. I missed you guys."

Emilia sat down at the kitchen table and waited patiently for Col to bring her some tea, trying not to show how nervous she actually felt being back home with her family after such a long time apart. She didn't know what kind of reaction they would have to her return... or even if they were happy that she had come back at all.

"Col...," Emilia said softly as she took the cup of tea he handed her and placed it on the table. "I never meant to hurt you... or anyone else in my family. I just... I wanted so much for myself that I thought leaving was the only way..." Her voice trailed off, but she forced herself to continue. "...But now that I'm back, please believe me when I say that I miss all of you terribly." She took a sip of her tea, trying not to choke on the hot liquid as tears welled up in her eyes. "I know it will take time for me to earn your trust again... but please, just give me the chance."

Emilia wiped away the tears that fell silently down her cheeks and took another deep breath, trying to keep herself calm and composed despite the emotions swirling inside of her. She hoped Col would understand, even if it seemed unlikely given their past relationship.

Her breath caught in surprise when Col wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. Emilia hugged him back just as tightly, feeling the tears flow more freely down her cheeks as relief and happiness washed over her. She buried her face into his chest, taking deep, shuddering breaths as she clung to him desperately, not wanting to let go. "I'm sorry...," she mumbled between sobs. "So, so sorry..."
