Jonathan senses your hesitation and politely leaves you alone to settle in. As Ms. Lillian begins her introduction to the class, you take note of your fellow students. The class environment is welcoming, despite the occasional side-conversation or whispered joke during lecture.

"Hmmm, Peter? Yeah, he's actually been really quiet since he came here last year," she replies, taking a sip of her drink. "I heard he had some trouble before transferring to Crestwood, but I don't know any specific details." She pauses for a moment and then asks you, "What about you? Anything interesting happen with you before you got here?"

Hm... Well, there's not much to tell. I lived in a small town before moving here. Not really any big dramas or anything like that. But I heard about Crestwood and how it was supposed to be this great school with lots of opportunities. That's why I decided to transfer here, you know? To try and make the most of it.

"Thanks, Emily. I appreciate that," you reply with a grateful smile. You hadn't really expected to make friends so quickly at your new school, but she seems nice and understanding. Maybe there's hope for finding your place here after all.

You and Emily part ways after class, promising to meet up again later in the day. As you wander around the school grounds during your free period, you can't help but feel a sense of curiosity about Peter. His presence seems to loom large even when he isn't directly involved in conversations.
