Huh? Wh-Who's there?! exclaimed Marie as she whirled around to see who had bumped into her, revealing a slightly startled expression on her face before quickly turning into one of annoyance as she glared at the source of the contact.
Grey seemed rather familiar... She didn't have any particular bad blood with him but he wasn't someone she would go out of her way to approach either. He was just sorta there, like furniture. Maybe if he were a bit more appealing, or at least had some sort of talent that she could exploit... "Oh, hi Grey. Did you need something?" she asked nonchalantly, pushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she eyed him up and down.
nope grey said with his usualy gloomy behavior as he said this she looked closer at him his long white hair that flowed well past his shoulders and all the stitches that coverd his body not to mention his red pupuls in all honesty he looked like a stitched together corpse again
Oh... Grey... You look sort of... unwell today... Did you know? Healing magic can be used to help with injuries like yours. I'm sure you'd feel much better if you let me treat those stitches for you! After all, as the White Savior, it's my job to take care of everyone, isn't it?" Marie gave him a sweet smile and batted her eyelashes innocently.
In truth, she couldn't help but feel sorry for Grey... He looked so pathetic that even she found herself wanting to help him out, just a little bit. It was almost cute, in a twisted sort of way. Of course, there was always the possibility that he might refuse and then she could use that against him later on... After all, it never hurt to have options.

Grey walked away, leaving her alone in the hallway. She watched him go with a small shake of her head before continuing on her way to class as well. Honestly, she couldn't help but feel bad for Grey... He was so set against trusting anyone that he was basically doomed to fail. Well, it wasn't her problem anyways. She had her own goals and responsibilities to focus on. Perhaps when everything was said and done, she could at least try to help him see the error of his ways... But until then, there were more important things to worry about.
With a deep breath in and another out, Marie pushed Grey's sullen figure from her mind and concentrated on the upcoming lesson. She had no idea how much time she had left to become recognized as the Saint, but one thing was for certain... She wasn't going to let anything stand in her way.

"Well, this is... unexpected." Marie murmured under her breath as she glanced over at Grey as he was let into the classroom by their teacher. It seemed that someone new had been brought in to teach about spirit magic, and they wanted him involved. It certainly made things interesting, but she couldn't help but feel a little bit concerned. Would this mean that her plan would have to change?
She quickly dismissed the thought, deciding instead to focus on listening intently to whatever their new teacher had to say. There was no point in worrying about things she couldn't control, after all. If Grey wanted to make something of himself, it was up to him... And if he didn't? Well, then that would be his loss, wouldn't it?
With a small sigh and a determined nod, Marie settled back into her seat and began taking notes as the lesson began. She knew what she had to do

Not yet, anyway. But knowing what sort of creatures he could potentially control was definitely useful information. Perhaps there was something she could use it for later on...
For now, though, she would just have to bide her time and wait for the right moment to strike.

In truth, she already knew all about spirit magic contracts... This was just part of her act. Pretending to be in awe of Grey's knowledge and power would help her seem more approachable, more trustworthy. It was all part of her plan to get close to him, earn his trust, and then use that against him when the time came.
As she studied Grey from the corner of her eye, she smiled to herself. He had no idea what he was up against... And soon enough, he would find out just how little he knew about manipulation and deception.

The truth was, she didn't need Grey's help or approval to learn about spirit magic... In fact, it would be better if he stayed away from her altogether. But until he gave up on teaching her and let his guard down completely, she would have to play along with his ridiculous game. After all, being recognized as the Saint was too important to risk losing by being impatient or reckless.

Hurriedly standing up and straightening her clothes, Marie walked over to where Grey was sitting with her heart racing. "So," he said coolly, motioning for her to hand over her pendant, "let's see what you've come up with." She hesitantly obeyed, unclasping the chain around her neck and holding out the pendant for him to inspect. Her hands were trembling slightly as she did so.
Grey took the pendant and studied it closely, examining every detail of its design. Then, without warning, he snatched the chain from Marie's fingers, yanking her forward and forcing her to kneel before him. "You think you can just copy what I taught everyone else?" he growled, his voice cold and menacing.

She visualized the contract she had made with her spirit creatures, feeling the connection between them grow stronger as she did so. A moment later, a tiny whirlwind formed in front of her, spinning faster and faster before it suddenly dissipated, revealing two small imps floating nearby.
"There they are," Marie said proudly, stepping back to show off the imps to Grey. "I named them Spike and Viciously."
