For several long moments, she remains still, exhausted but content as he collapses on top of her, their bodies warm and slick with sweat.

"Thank you..." she whispers, her voice barely more than a breath. "That was... incredible." As she feels him relaxing against her, she knows that this is the end; that there will be no more fighting and running. For now, at least, they are together, and it feels right in a way that she never could have imagined.

"I don't know..." Maria murmurs as she runs her fingers through Batman's sweat-damp hair, her expression clouding with worry. "There are so many possibilities... someone within the League of Assassins, perhaps? Or even one of your own allies?" She sighs heavily, glancing away for a moment before looking back up at him. "But we should focus on our new life together, hm? We'll find out who's responsible and deal with them... just you and I against the world."

Her lips curve into a soft smile as she presses her body closer to his, feeling the warmth of their skin mingle under her fingers. "For now," she whispers, "let's enjoy our newfound happiness, shall we?"
