After a long night at work you get back home in the middle of the night, you walk into your house and notice the fire is going and notice Chloe sitting on the couch watching tv, Chloe looks up at you and greets you with a warm smile
Hey, how was work?
The usual! And how where the kids? Hope they weren’t to much of a handful! And um are you ok? Usually you would be home by now.
Oh no they were great, they went to bed without a problem, they didn't even seem to notice that I was late. But no thanks, Im not ok... you see, um I broke up with my boyfriend last night. Caught him cheating on me and, I just... well I felt like coming here and relaxing in front of the fire before I go home.
Her words trail off as she looks back down at her lap, a look of sadness crossing her features.
I slowly put my stuff down and walk towards her and join her on the couch next to her. Hey would you like a hug? Or a shoulder to cry on?
Hearing his words and feelign his body warmth so close she couldn't help but relax a little and nod. "I-I would like that..." She whispered softly as tears began to form in her eyes again, thickening her voice. With one arm, she wrapped around herself in a self comforting gesture, before slowly leaning against his broad shoulder, resting her head on his muscled upper arm. Chloe tried her best not to cry anymore but it was hard when he was being so nice and sweet with her.
Hey its ok to cry! I won’t judge and if you want to talk about it im willing to listen.
I-I just don't understand why he would do this... After everything we've been through, I thought we were happy... She sniffles a little before looking at him. And it wasn't just anyone either, it was one of our good friends from school... someone who knows how I feel about loyalty and trust... I-I don't even know what to do or say now. Her tears began to flow again as she clenched her fists in anger.
I hold her tighter in the hug.
Her shoulders shook with soft sobs as she cried silently against his shoulder. She could feel her fury and hurt building inside her like a pressure cooker about to explode. He had betrayed her trust in the worst possible way and she wasn't sure if she would ever be able to forgive him.
She forced herself to take deep breaths, trying to calm down and regain some control over her emotions. "I-I should have seen it coming..." She murmured between sniffles, sounding more like an echo of what used to be her self-assured confidence."I'm such a fool... How could I have been so blind?"
Her teary gaze flickered up at him, his profile etched in the dim firelight. She knew she had been hurt, but looking at him now, she realized that she hadn't been fair to him either. He was nothing but kind and understanding... She wasn't sure why he put up with her clumsiness and how much of a mess she was right now.
Hey don’t give me that look whatever your thinking is the opposite of what i think of you.
Her eyes widened at his words, surprise and gratitude warring on her features. She leaned back slightly to look up at him properly, noting how handsome he looked in the firelight with his dark hair mussed from sleep and those deep blue eyes filled with concern. "R-Really?" she stammered out. "I just want you to know that I appreciate everything you do for me... For coming home late at night, giving me a place to stay when my own family isn't... It means more than you'll ever realize." A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she said this, her heart feeling lighter for finally being able to tell him how much he meant to her.
She leaned back in against his shoulder once again, taking comfort in his strength and warmth, wondering if there was any possibility that they could become more than just friends now...
I give her head a kiss and say I appreciate your words Chole! I really fo and my kids love you! Your so good to them! And if you want my opinion on your ex-boyfriend hes a coward and a idiot. For cheating on a girl like you!
Chloe feels her chest warm at his words and she can't help but smile up at him. "He always did say stupid things when he was drunk..." She laughs softly, finally beginning to feel like the weight of her troubles is lifting ever so slightly. Looking back over at the fire, she sighs contentedly.
"I think I needed this... Tonight, I mean. Just being able to be here, talk to someone about it all... It's made a big difference." She turns her head and peeks at him from beneath her lashes, curiosity mixing with gratitude in her expression. "And thank you, for always being there for me... For putting up with my clumsiness and everything."
She pauses, blushing deeply as she realizes what she's just said. Was that a flirty remark? She wasn't sure... But it felt nice to say these things out loud, regardless of the context.
I give her a smile and a little chuckle and say “well you may be clumsy but i think thats part of who you are! And i like that you don’t try and hide it!” I then look down at her and lean in to kiss her.
Surprised by his sudden movement, Chloe freezes momentarily before returning the kiss with equal fervor, their lips meeting in a soft, gentle press that quickly deepens as they become lost in the moment. Her body tingles all over from the contact, her breasts pressed against his broad chest and her hips grinding gently against him.
Her hands find their way up to rest on either side of his face, fingers tangled in his short dark hair as she explores the contours of his jaw and cheek, marveling at how different he feels from her ex. Dan was strong, solid... real. It's almost intoxicating how safe she feels with him like this, pressing against him, their bodies intertwined in a silent, wordless communication that speaks volumes about the depth of her feelings.
I pull back for the kiss and apologize for it and say if you ever need a place to stay im always happy to let you stay.
Her heart skips a beat as he pulls away, her breath coming out in ragged gasps as she stares up at him, his blue eyes searching hers intently. Her cheeks flush an even deeper shade of red as she swallows thickly, her words tumbling out in a rush of emotion. "I-I've never felt this way before... About anyone..." She pauses, biting her lower lip nervously before continuing, "And I don't want to go back to living alone... With just my friends." Her voice trails off, hope mingled with uncertainty in every syllable.
She wants more than just his friendship now... More than the comfort and safety he provides. But she isn't sure if that's something he would ever want in return. The thought makes her stomach twist into knots of anxiety and anticipation, making it difficult to keep her focus on anything but him, the man who has somehow become everything to her in just one short night.
I look at her and smile before I lean in and kiss her softly on the lips again. "You don't have to go back there if you don't want to... You can stay with me." I say softly with a bit of hesitation, wanting to make sure she knows what that would mean exactly, not just where she lives but also about us.
Her eyes widen as he speaks, hope surging through her like a tidal wave. "R-Really? You'd let me stay?" she whispers, hardly able to believe that this is actually happening. She swallows thickly, feeling her heart skip a beat and then race double-time in her chest as she looks up at him.
He doesn't seem to mind the clumsiness or the mess... He even seems to like it. The thought makes something warm and fluttery bloom deep within her, spreading outward until every inch of her feels light and free and giddy with happiness. Maybe... just maybe there is a chance for them after all.
She leans forward, pressing her lips tentatively against his before pulling back to meet his eyes once more. "I would love to stay with you," she breathes out, hope painting a smile across her features as she says the words. "And I promise... I will never be clumsy around you again."
"Well that's good to hear! I do love your clumsiness actually and i really don't mind it one bit." He leans in close to her ear as he whispers. "Besides, I think the only thing you should worry about is making sure you never leave my bed." There's a mischievous glint in his eye as he says this, causing Chloe's cheeks to flush even more deeply with pleasure and desire.
Her breath hitches in her throat as his words wash over her like warm water, leaving her feeling wanton and needy in a way she's never experienced before. She parts her lips, unsure if she intends to speak or simply moan out her pleasure, but it doesn't matter much anyway; the hunger in his eyes tells her exactly what he wants to hear.
Her hands slip from their position on either side of his face, trailing down his shoulders and over the defined planes of his back before circling around to cup him through his shirt, feeling the warmth and strength beneath her fingertips. "Oh god... I've never felt this way..." she whispers hoarsely, her hips starting to grind against his again as desire pools low in her belly.
With one last deep breath, she tilts her head back, offering him easier access to her neck and the sensitive skin below. "I want you..." she murmurs, barely able to get the words out, already close to the edge of losing herself completely. Her lips part as he skims his tongue along the shell of her ear, sending shudders of pleasure down her spine, making her muscles twitch and ache with need.
