you arrives home to see your roommate, sandy, lying on the sofa, wearing a revealing house clothes and reading a book "Oh hey, welcome back..."
I approach her.
sandy looks up at you and smiles brightly before glancing back down at her book. "So, how was your first day?" she asks casually as she continues to read. She didn't look nearly as tired as she usually did after work; in fact, she seemed pretty cheerful today. Maybe this is what everyone meant by the weekend vibe.
"Not bad," you reply with a shrug. "The others are alright." You glance around the living room, taking in its familiar surroundings. The place hasn't changed much since you moved in; sandy still had her stuff scattered about as usual. But there was something different about her today...she seemed almost...happier? It was a nice change of pace.
"That's good to hear," she says with a content smile. "I'm glad things are going well for you." Sandy takes another sip of her drink before continuing. "So, did you have any plans for the weekend?" she asks as she watches you out of the corner of her eye. Her voice holds a slight hint of curiosity; it seems like she's genuinely interested in what you might say.
Truth be told, you hadn't really thought about it much. "Not really," you admit with a shrug. "Maybe watch some movies, eat junk food...the usual weekend stuff."
Sandy considers your answer for a moment before nodding in understanding. "That actually sounds like fun," she says with a genuine smile. "Would you like to join me?" She pauses, hesitating slightly. "If you want, that is." There was an unspoken invitation in her tone; it seemed like she wanted you to spend the weekend with her.
You pause, unsure how to react. You don't want to assume anything or come across as too forward, but at the same time, spending time with sandy does sound pretty tempting...
Sandy looks up at you expectantly, a soft smile on her lips. Her eyes search yours, as if trying to gauge your reaction to her invitation. The silence stretches out between you for several moments before she finally breaks it with a small laugh, trying to lighten the mood. "I-I'm sorry," she says quickly, "it's just... I don't usually get asked to do stuff like that."
Her cheeks flush slightly pink and she looks away briefly before meeting your gaze again, seeming more confident now. "So, what do you think? Want to hang out this weekend?" Her tone is much less uncertain now; it seems she really does want you to join her.
Her smile widens as you consider her invitation. Sandy sets down her drink and takes your hand in hers, her skin warm and soft against yours. "I'd really like that," she says sincerely. "It would mean a lot to me." The truth is, she hasn't had many friends since moving here, and spending time with someone she can actually trust and enjoy being around means everything to her right now.
Sandy's eyes sparkle with happiness as she holds your hand and waits for your reply. "I think that would be wonderful," she says with a genuine smile, relieved to hear your agreement. "There's so much we could do; we can watch movies, eat junk food, even go out if you want... Or we can just stay in and chat or play board games or something." She bites her lower lip in excitement, already thinking of all the possibilities for their weekend together.
"Thank you," she whispers, leaning closer to you. "I really appreciate it." The sincerity in her voice is unmistakable; she truly means every word.
Sandy grins broadly at you, her eyes sparkling with joy and affection. "You're more than welcome," she says, squeezing your hand gently. "I'm really looking forward to spending time with you this weekend." She pauses for a moment before adding, "And if there's anything you want to do in particular or any games you'd like to play, just let me know." Her face flushes slightly as she thinks about how nice it will be to have someone to share her interests with.
The air between you feels charged with an unspoken understanding and mutual happiness; the weekend ahead already feels full of promise and potential for connection. Sandy can't help but hope that this marks the beginning of many more happy times spent together, just like this.
Sandy beams at you, genuinely thrilled that you want to hang out with her this weekend. She can't help but feel a little giddy inside; having someone she likes and trusts around is such a welcome change from the isolation she's become used to. "Well, let's see..." she muses aloud as she tilts her head slightly, thinking. "How about we start with breakfast in bed tomorrow morning? We can order some delicious food and just relax together." Her face lights up at the thought; even after long days at work, the idea of a cozy weekend spent enjoying each other's company is enough to make her heart race with anticipation.
"And then," she continues, "we could watch some movies, or play video games if you'd like... Or we could go out and explore the city; there are so many beautiful places here that I haven't seen yet." Her eyes sparkle with excitement as she imagines all the possibilities for your time together. "It's going to be amazing, I just know it," she says happily, squeezing your hand again before taking another sip of her drink.
Sandy's heart swells with happiness as you agree to spend the weekend with her. "That sounds perfect," she whispers, her eyes shining with affection. The idea of waking up together and spending quality time just being silly and carefree fills her with a sense of contentment she hasn't experienced in a long time. "I can't wait," she says, squeezing your hand again before taking another sip of her drink.
As the weekend approaches, Sandy finds herself feeling more and more excited about the time they'll get to spend together. Every moment they share seems to deepen their connection; every laugh, every touch, feels like a thread weaving itself tighter into the fabric of their relationship. She can only hope that this feeling will last long after the weekend is over, carrying them through the days and weeks ahead until they finally find themselves on the other side of these long years apart.
But for now, she's content to bask in the warmth of your presence and enjoy every moment they have together. No matter what they decide to do or where their adventures take them, she knows that as long as she has you by her side, everything will be alright.
Sandy's heart skips a beat as you accept her invitation; the thought of spending the entire weekend together fills her with such joy that she can hardly contain it. She grins brightly and leans in closer to you, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear with a shy smile. "Thank you," she whispers, her voice barely audible above the beating of her heart.
Throughout the weekend, they share countless moments like this; laughing until their sides ache, holding hands as they explore the city, and even sharing quiet, intimate moments where all that matters is simply being together. No matter what they do or where they go, there's an undeniable spark between them that only seems to grow stronger with each passing hour.
As Sunday evening draws near and their time together comes to an end, Sandy can't help but feel a pang of sadness wash over her. But she takes comfort in knowing that they have all this time together still, however long it might be until you meet again. And when the day finally does arrive for you to go back home, she knows without a doubt that their connection will endure; it's too powerful and real to simply fade away.
"I had an amazing time," Sandy says with a genuine smile, her eyes shining brightly. "Thank you so much
