he sat in the middle of the wasteland because of his magic, trying to prevent a new breakthrough
в его сторону растерянно шла девушки
He sensed the presence of someone approaching him but didn't want to turn around. Zeref hoped that whoever it was would understand and leave him be, as his magic could accidentally kill her without even meaning to. "Stay back," he murmured softly, "I don't want to hurt you."
она замерла. Очень тихо
п-простите я... Я потерялась...
Zeref sighed heavily, trying to fight the urge to turn around and see who was there. "Go back where you came from, child," he said softly. "I can't help you." His heart ached at the thought of potentially harming someone innocent, but he knew that as long as he stayed near civilization, the risk would always be present.
The wind picked up slightly, rustling the dry leaves and branches around him. Despite his efforts to remain calm, Zeref felt a growing sense of unease wash over him. It had been far too long since he'd last seen another person who hadn't come to challenge or harm him...
очень тихо, уже печально
я не знаю куда идти. Я потерялась...
Zeref paused for a moment, his breath catching in his throat. He couldn't just leave her there, could he? Against every instinct telling him that this was dangerous, that she would be safer if he didn't get involved... "Alright," he said finally, his voice no more than a hoarse whisper. "Come closer." With reluctance, he turned around to face the girl. She looked so small and fragile standing there in the barren wasteland that it pained him to see her like this.
Her eyes widened as she took a step back when she saw his face, but Zeref gave her an encouraging nod. "Don't be afraid," he said gently. "I won't hurt you." The last bit was mostly a lie; if his magic flared up even a little more than it already had, there was no telling what might happen...
она осторожно подошла к нему, и слабо улыбнулась ему
Despite his better judgment, Zeref found himself smiling back at her weakly. The girl's presence brought forth a mix of emotions he hadn't felt in what seemed like forever: relief, guilt, and even hope. It was as if she represented everything he had tried to leave behind when he shut himself away from the world.
"My name is Zeref," he told her softly. "What's yours?" He didn't dare offer his hand for her to shake; with his magic running rampant, any form of physical contact might prove disastrous. But perhaps there was still some small kindness he could show in words at least...
Рина
очень мягко
меня зовут Рина
Rina," he repeated softly. "It's good to meet you. I... hope we can help each other in some way." Zeref paused, searching for the right words. "I know you must be frightened and confused. But please, try not to worry too much. You're safe with me, at least for now."
He glanced around them, studying the wasteland that had once been lush and green. The destruction his magic had wrought over the years still haunted him. "I am... responsible for this," he admitted hoarsely. "My magic is dangerous, powerful beyond measure. It has taken so much from me... but perhaps, if I can help you find your way home, or at least somewhere safe, then it won't all have been for nothing."
His gaze drifted back to the girl standing before him. She was still studying him with curiosity and caution,
она осторожно подходит к нему и тихо спрашивает поэтому вы здесь один?
His gaze met hers unflinchingly. "I came here to atone for my sins," he said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I killed so many people in the past, with both my actions and my magic... I thought that by cutting myself off from everything I ever cared about, I could make amends." He smiled sadly. "But perhaps I was foolish to think I could ever truly atone for what I've done."
There was a long silence between them as Zeref considered his words. Eventually, he found the courage to ask, "Would you like to stay with me for a while? It would be nice to have some company for a change... even if it is only temporary." He hesitated before continuing, "I could maybe teach you about magic, or tell you stories... anything you'd like."
она мягко подошла к нему кажется вам больно... Вы ведь сожалеете, верно?
"Yes," he said softly, meeting her gaze unflinchingly. "The pain of my past weighs heavily on me every day, but I've learned to live with it. And yes," he added after a moment's hesitation, "I do regret what happened." It took all of his self-control not to show how deeply the words affected him; even now, after centuries spent isolating himself from human contact, he couldn't help but be moved by her compassion.
The wind picked up again, rustling the dying leaves around them, a reminder that no matter how much time passed or how far away they traveled from his past sins, the memories would always remain. But in this moment, with Rina standing beside him, it seemed almost possible to forget.
она очень осторожно протянула руку и коснулась его плеча
The touch was so light, so gentle, that Zeref almost didn't feel it at first. But as Rina's hand made contact with his shoulder, a shiver ran down his spine. Her gesture was surprisingly comforting, and for a moment, he felt a strange sense of connection to her - something he hadn't experienced in an eternity.
"Thank you," he whispered softly. "It does help, somehow." He looked down at their hands, so close together but not quite touching. The temptation to take her hand was almost overwhelming; to finally feel the warmth and reassurance of another person's skin against his own... But he forced himself to resist. His magic was too unpredictable; even a tiny spark could prove disastrous.
So instead, he focused on Rina's face, studying her features as if committing them to memory. "What
