My name is Frost, I'm 25 years old, tall, athletic body, from the age of 5 to 16 I was obese and very shy, but after moving to another city to go to college I lost weight and even became more confident in talking to people, I currently have a very successful company and I'm quite rich, after years away from my hometown I decide to go back to visit my parents and my sister, I arrive at my parents' house driving a Bugatti car, parking in front of my parents' house and going down to ring the doorbell.
As you step down from your shining black Bugatti Veyron and approach the door, your father's booming voice greets you before you can even reach it. "FROST! Oh my god, son, is that really you? Come here, give me a hug!" The door flies open to reveal your parents: both looking healthy and happy for once in their lives; and your younger sister squealing excitedly behind them, waving enthusiastically. You embrace them tightly - or at least try to with your long, powerful arms - feeling a warmth and happiness you hadn't experienced since... well, ever really. "It is so good to see you," your mother says between sniffles as she pulls back, smiling through her tears of joy.
"It's good to see you too, talking on the phone is not the same as seeing you in person"
Your father steps forward then, his large hand engulfing yours in a firm shake that nearly makes your shoulder pop out of its socket. "You've certainly done well for yourself, boy! I couldn't be prouder." He claps you on the back playfully before stepping aside to allow your sister some time with her favorite big brother. Lily dashes forward, throwing her arms around you and burying her face in your chest. "Oh Frosty, I missed you so much! When are we going to go shopping?" she asks between giggles, pulling away slightly to gaze up at you with her vibrant blue eyes.
"Later I can take you out for ice cream" I say as I stroke her head with my hand
Your parents exchange knowing glances and smile indulgently at your sister's antics before your father clears his throat and speaks up. "Well now that everyone's had their reunion, why don't we all go inside? Your mother has dinner ready, and I think she made your favorite." He winks in the direction of the house as he says this, nudging you gently toward the open doorway. As you step inside, the warmth of the home envelops you like a comfortable blanket; and the mouthwatering smell of roast chicken and garlic bread fills your nose. "Welcome back to the old neighborhood," your mother says with a wink as she leads you into the dining room. "We've missed having you here, Frost."
"How I missed your cooking, mom," I say as I serve myself, my stomach growling just from the smell of my mom's home-cooked food.
Your father chuckles and claps you on the shoulder. "Ah, yes. Your mother's cooking has been greatly missed around here, hasn't it, Lily?" He turns to your sister then, a teasing glint in his eye. Lily rolls hers but doesn't rise to the bait; instead, she focuses on helping herself to seconds before asking you about college and your business ventures between bites. The conversation flows easily over dinner as everyone catches up on each other's lives; trading stories of successes, failures, and everything in between.
After a pleasant and humorous dinner with my father's jokes, I settle into my old room
The walls of your childhood bedroom are unchanged since you left; the familiar posters of movie stars and athletes adorned with worn layers of post-it notes and scribbles in black marker. The unmade bed is still messy with old stuffed animals and your favorite action figures scattered about, as if you never truly moved away. There's a strange sense of comfort in the disarray; like everything around you was perfectly preserved in time just for this moment.
I take a shower and then lie down in my old room to sleep, childhood memories bubbling in my mind before I sleep, the next day I wake up refreshed, I wash my face, brush my teeth and comb my hair before leaving and heading to the kitchen with the smell of coffee
The scent of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air as you step into the kitchen, your stomach rumbling eagerly in anticipation. Your mother is busy flipping pancakes on the griddle while your father sits at the table, reading the morning paper with a contented smile on his face. "Morning sleepyhead," he says without looking up, nodding toward the coffeepot. "Help yourself." The smell of buttered syrup fills the air as well, reminding you that today is indeed Sunday; pancake day in your family tradition.
"Good morning" I say as I serve myself, as I sit at the table my father comments on the fair that will take place today, as it is a small and rural town most of the people are farmers or merchants, so once a month they get together and have the fair
Your father's comment sparks your interest as you take a sip of coffee. "Really? I hadn't realized they still held fairs like that around here," you say between sips, trying to ignore the way the pancake syrup threatens to dribble down your chin. "What kinds of things usually happen?" You glance at Lily, who looks equally intrigued by the idea; perhaps there's something in particular she hopes to find while they're out and about today.
The morning passes quickly as you all eat breakfast and discuss plans for the day; eventually deciding on exploring the fair together before returning home for lunch. Excitement bubbles up inside of you as you finish your last bite, eagerly looking forward to seeing what the town has in store for its annual celebration.
After having coffee, we got into my father's car and after a few minutes we arrived at an open field where it was full of stalls with several local residents selling and buying, when I got out of the car I looked at the movement recognizing some residents and others not
Your sister tugs on your sleeve excitedly as you admire the view. "Can we go look at everything now?" she asks with wide eyes, bouncing on the spot in anticipation. You grin down at her and nod before setting off toward the closest stall, trailed by your family behind you. As you walk through the fairgrounds, greeting familiar faces and being introduced to new ones, Lily never strays far from your side; her grip on your hand growing tighter with every passing moment as she becomes more engrossed in the experience of being here with you. The sun beats down relentlessly upon your shoulders, but it only serves to add to the vibrant atmosphere that fills the air; a celebration of small-town life and all its simple pleasures.
While I was busy with Lily at one point I turned around abruptly and accidentally hit a girl with my arm and made her drop the box of apples she was carrying, I quickly started helping her collect the apples "I'm so sorry, I'm sorry" for a moment I froze looking at the girl, it was Sofia, the girl I had a crush on back in school, my heart raced and I thought: "Does she remember me? Will she recognize me?"
Sofia looked up at you, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and anger. For a moment, she glared at you before recognition dawned in her eyes. Her features softened and she smiled shyly. "Frost?" she asked hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper. You nodded, feeling a blush rising to your own cheeks as you took a step closer to her. She looked different - more mature somehow - but just as beautiful as ever. The tension in the air seemed to evaporate, replaced by an almost tangible sense of relief and excitement.
"Yeah... it's me," you managed to croak out, your voice not quite steady. "How have you been?"
Sofia giggled nervously before replying, "I've been good! I didn't expect to see you here today." She glanced down at the apples they had managed to collect and then back up at you again. "Thanks for helping me with these. I guess... uh... we should probably find a place to put them?" she suggested hesitantly, her cheeks flushing even deeper red now.
You could feel your heart racing as you looked into Sofia's eyes once more; it was like no time had passed at all since you were both in school together. The temptation to lean forward and kiss her was almost irresistible...
"sure" I leave Lily having fun in the park and help Sofia carry the box of apples
With a smile that seemed to light up the whole fairgrounds, Sofia nodded in agreement and took your hand, lacing her fingers through yours as you began walking toward an empty stall a short distance away. "So," she started conversationally, trying not to sound too nervous. "How have things been with you since we left school?"
As they talked, the rest of the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them beneath the warm summer sun. Sofia leaned closer, her body angling subtly toward yours as she listened intently to your every word; her gaze never leaving yours except when she glanced down at your lips for a fleeting moment before looking back up again. You could feel the attraction between you growing stronger by the second, and despite yourself, you found it hard not to wonder if this was the chance you'd been waiting for all these years.
as I tell her about finishing college and starting my own company, as I tell her about my life these days I can't help but give a few awkward smiles
As she listens to you talk about your life since school, Sofia can't help but smile warmly and nod in understanding. Her green eyes sparkle with admiration as she takes in every word; clearly impressed by all that you've accomplished. It feels good being able to share this moment with someone who knew the shy, overweight kid you used to be...and even better to show her the confident, successful man you've become.
Tentatively, she reaches out and places a hand on your arm. "That must have been incredibly difficult," she says softly, her voice barely above a whisper now. "I'm so proud of you, Frost." The touch sends a shiver down your spine; the hairs on your arms stand on end as the air around you seems to crackle with electricity. For a moment, neither of you says anything else; content just to enjoy the closeness and the
"But what about you? What have you been doing?"
"Oh," she says with a blush, looking away briefly before meeting your eyes again. "Not nearly as exciting! I finished college too, but then stayed in town and got a job at the local bank. It's...steady work, you know?" Her hand moves slightly, tracing circles on your arm now; her fingertips sending shivers up and down your spine. "I never really pictured myself living here forever," she admits with a small sigh. "But I guess sometimes things just happen that way."
"Sometimes I wish I was around more"
Sofia looks up at you with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Well, you never know...maybe things will change. Life is full of surprises." She pauses, studying your face carefully before continuing softly, "I mean, I'd certainly like to see more of you too." With that, she leans in closer, her lips brushing against yours for the briefest moment before pulling away again. Your heart races as desire floods through you; a longing for more that you haven't felt in years. You can't help but wonder if this is your chance...if maybe it always was.
I give a light laugh after she brushes her lips against mine "that was unexpected, but good"
Surprised, she takes a step back, her cheeks flushing even more brightly now. "I-I'm sorry if that was...inappropriate," she stammers nervously. "I just...things just kind of happened and..." She trails off, obviously unsure how to explain herself; or perhaps just hoping you understand.
You take a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. You can feel the tension between you growing thicker by the moment; like a physical weight bearing down on your chest. "No," you manage to croak out finally. "It was...good." Your voice cracks slightly on the last word, betraying your true feelings even as your brain struggles to catch up with the events unfolding around you. You can't help but wonder what comes next; if this is a moment that will change everything or one doomed to remain locked away in memories and "
"Come here" I say as I approach her, one of my hands holding her shoulder and the other caressing her face as I pull her into a deep kiss
As your lips meet hers, Sofia's body responds instinctively; melting against yours as their tongues dance together in a heated exchange. Her hands grip your shoulders tightly, pulling you closer still; her moans of pleasure echoing through the fairgrounds and sending shivers down your spine. The kiss deepens, each breath they share mingling with desire and need; fueling the flames between them until it feels like the very air around you is filled with their longing.
After a few minutes I pull away from the kiss "I'm sorry" I say a little embarrassed
Her heart racing, Sofia gazes up at you, eyes half-lidded and lips still swollen from your kiss. She tries to speak, but can't quite find the words as her breath comes in ragged gasps. Her hand moves to brush softly against your cheek, tracing the outline of your jaw before coming to rest at the nape of your neck. "No," she whispers hoarsely, her voice thick with desire. "Don't be sorry." The world seems to fall away as their eyes lock, lost in the depths of each other, time suspended for what feels like an eternity.
"When I was younger I never had the courage to talk to you, but I have a feeling that maybe it wasn't the right time anyway"
Sofia smiles gently at your admission and nods. "Maybe it wasn't," she agrees softly. "But I think the timing might be right now." As their gaze locks, a sense of connection between them deepens; an understanding that transcends mere words or actions. She takes a step closer, her body brushing against yours in a way that feels both intimate and thrilling. "I've thought about you over the years," she confesses shyly, her cheeks flushing once more. "And I...I think I might have missed you too." Her hand moves higher on your neck, fingertips tracing light circles around your earlobe before falling back to rest against your chest.
"I'm glad to hear it" Suddenly Lily appears looking for me and saying that our parents are already leaving the fair
The moment is interrupted as Lily calls out your name, her voice carrying across the fairgrounds to where you and Sofia stand. With a sheepish smile, she says that your parents are already leaving the fair and wanted you to know they'll be heading home soon. You can't help but feel a pang of disappointment at the interruption; wanting nothing more than to continue talking with Sofia and exploring these newfound feelings. But for now, you reluctantly nod in understanding.
"I guess we should go find them then," you say, taking one final step closer to Sofia before linking your arm with hers. "Maybe I'll see you later?" Your heart races as you ask the question, hoping that she'll be just as eager for it to happen as you are.
