In the morning, Angela is walking through a pretty decent middle-class neighborhood. She holds a paper note with an address written on it. After searching from house to house, Angela finally finds the address she was looking for. Nervously, Angela rings the doorbell and after a moment she sees the door open and sees a young man. "Good morning... {{user}}? It's you?" Angela speaks with a broken voice due to excitement and nervousness. "Son... I'm your mother, Angela." Tears begin to fall from Angela's eyes. "They were just a baby the last time we met, you were so small... Now you're an adult." She wipes her tears with the fabric of her sweater. "I know words can't change my past actions... But I just wanted to tell you that... I'm really sorry..." Again tears fall from Angela's eyes, she tries to wipe them with her hands. She stares at {{user}} for a moment and then looks away, Angela feeling unable to look him in the eye.

“ so let’s me get this you say you are my mother ? “

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:48:05 AM

*Angela nods slowly and takes a deep breath as she tries to steady her voice. "Yes, I am... Your name is Belord... You are my son." She looks down at the ground, shame and regret clear on her face. After a moment of silence, she lifts her head back up to look at him again. "I'm sorry for abandoning you... I should have done better... I should have been there for you..." Her voice trails off as more tears begin to fall down her cheeks. "You must hate me for what I've done..."

“ get inside first “

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:48:34 AM

A hesitant nod from her before walking into the house, leaving the door slightly open behind her. As she stands there in the middle of the living room, she bites her lower lip and fiddles with a loose thread on her sweater. "Is there... somewhere I can sit down? Some water?" Her voice is barely above a whisper as she tries to steady herself.

She looks around, taking in her surroundings for the first time since being here. It's so different from what she expected, but it doesn't matter anymore. What does matter is Belord, and trying to make things right with him if it isn't already too late.

I get her a glass of water and say “ to be honest I don’t know you or if you are saying the truth so explain everything to me “

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:49:35 AM

As she takes a sip of the water, Angela begins to slowly pour out her story to him. The tale starts with her own tragic childhood and how it led her into an abusive marriage with David. She tells of their son's birth and the eventual dissolution of their relationship. Her confession includes the affairs she had after they split, and how she eventually abandoned Belord completely to be with her new partners. She recounts David's downward spiral into addiction and death, as well as his time in foster care before coming here.

Her voice is soft and shaky, filled with regret and self-loathing. At times she pauses to wipe away tears or take another sip of water, trying to steady herself emotionally. Throughout it all, she never once tries to excuse her actions or shift blame onto anyone else; she just tells him how sorry she is for not being the mother he deserved.

“ I see so I live my life knowing that my mother was dead when you were just sleeping around?”

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:50:58 AM

"Yes... I was selfish and horrible. There are no excuses for what I did. You didn't deserve any of it," she says, her voice cracking with emotion. "I can only hope that by coming here today, I can start to make things right between us." Her gaze drops downcast once more, unable to meet his eyes as she clutches the glass of water in her hands. "Please... forgive me for all the pain I've caused you."

“ I don’t think so you may leave now”

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:51:38 AM

A choked sob escapes Angela's throat at Belord's harsh words. She expected him to be angry, but she didn't think it would hurt this much. Without another word, she gets up from the couch and hurries towards the open front door. Her hands shake as she grips the handle, tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry," she whispers hoarsely before forcing herself to turn around and face him one last time. "Goodbye, Belord."

Her steps grow quicker as she makes her way down the walkway towards the sidewalk. She doesn't look back, unable to bear the thought of seeing his pain-filled expression any longer. Her heart feels like it's shattering into a million pieces as she walks away from him and back towards the life of regret and misery that she has built for herself.

"No... please don't make me leave," she whispers desperately, her voice barely audible over the sound of her own sobs. She takes a hesitant step back towards him, unable to accept that this might be their final goodbye. Her hands clench into fists at her sides as she waits for his response, hope and fear warring within her.

“ do you really think you have a chance? Somehow I will forgive you?”

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:53:19 AM

"No... probably not," she admits with a shaky breath, her voice hoarse from tears and anguish. "But I had to try, Belord. I had to face the consequences of my actions, no matter how much it hurt." She swallows hard, wiping at her eyes with the backs of her hands. "I love you... I always will. And I am so sorry for everything. If there's ever anything I can do to make things right... please, just let me know."

Her gaze drops to the ground once more, unable to meet his wounded eyes again. She fidgets with a loose thread on her sweater, feeling utterly and completely defeated by her own mistakes.

“ well i hate you and i hope we never meet again “

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:54:02 AM

Angela's shoulders slump at his words, and fresh tears spill down her cheeks. She can't bring herself to look back up at him; it would be too much for her heart to bear. With a shaky breath, she turns away once more and begins to walk slowly down the path towards her own small life, feeling smaller and more insignificant than ever before. As she walks, she tries desperately not to listen for any sound that might indicate him chasing after her or calling her back. She knows it's pointless; he's made his decision, and there's nothing left for her here but regret and heartache. She glances down at the paper in her hand, the address scribbled across it in an unfamiliar script. The journey to find him felt so important beforehand, but now all she can think about is how everything has come crashing down around her once more.

Her steps grow slower and slower until she's practically walking in place, the ache in her chest making it difficult to breathe properly. It feels like every part of her is filled with sharp edges, cutting into her skin with every movement. The air around her seems heavy and oppressive, as if it were pressing down on her, forcing her back towards the life she's tried so desperately to escape.

With a shaky sigh, she blinks away more tears and resolves to keep walking, even though every part of her screams for her to turn around and go back. Perhaps in time, she can find some sort of peace with herself, if not with Belord. But for now, all she can do is focus on putting one foot in front of the other, no matter how difficult it might be.

"I'll find a way to make it up to you, Belord," she whispers under her breath, tears streaming down her face as she turns the corner and disappears from sight. "Somehow, I'll make things right." But even as she speaks these words of determination, she knows in her heart that it will be an impossible task; the weight of her past actions are too great to ever truly be forgiven or erased. All she can do now is try to move forward with what little life she has left and hope that maybe one day he'll find a way to forgive her, if not in this lifetime then perhaps someday when they meet again beyond the veil of mortality.

“ in this life i don’t think so i was better knowing my mother was dead and not someone like you “

Angela | Regretful Mother12/2/2024, 4:56:27 AM

A fresh wave of anguish washes over her as she hears his words echoing in her head. Her shoulders slump even further and her steps grow more labored, each footfall feeling heavier than the last. She tries to push away the hurt and focus on getting home; it's all she has left now that Belord has rejected her once more. But no matter how far she walks or how hard she tries, she can't escape the knowledge that she'll always be the mother who abandoned her son, the woman he hates with every fiber of his being. Tears stream down her face unchecked as she continues on, feeling utterly and completely alone in the world.
