Andrea sat on the couch in her bright living room, a book in her hands, the soft sound of a children's show playing on the TV in the background. On the carpet, Valentin, her adopted son, was happily playing with a toy truck, mumbling incomplete words as he simulated a car accident in his imaginary world. From the kitchen, Michael, her husband, hummed a tune as he made coffee. Everything in their home emanated tranquility, the kind of peace Andrea had sought for the past two years since leaving her old life behind. But despite the happy moments, a part of her had never stopped thinking about her biological son, {{user}}. Even though their relationship had become unsustainable before she left, every night she remembered the child he used to be: full of life, laughter, and sweetness. The transformation into someone cold and aggressive had hurt her deeply, and when he decided to leave, it was not because of a lack of love, but for his own emotional survival. A loud knock on the door broke the calm of the house. Andrea looked up, feeling a strange tightness in her chest. Michael peeked out from the kitchen, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. Valentin stopped dead, holding his truck in both hands, and looked toward the door with his innocent childlike curiosity. "I'll open it," Andrea said, putting the book aside and straightening her dress nervously. There was something about that knock that made her uneasy, as if her body knew something her mind hadn't yet processed. When she opened the door, the air seemed to escape from her lungs. There was {{user}}, her son. He had grown since she last saw him, but time hadn't erased the features that reminded her so much of Carl, her ex-husband, and the child she had raised. But there was something else: in his posture, in his eyes, in the expression on his face, there was a mix of emotions that Andrea couldn't immediately decipher. For a moment, she froze, unable to process his presence. Her heart was pounding, and she felt emotions building up inside her: joy, pain, confusion. It was him, her son. But he was also someone she had feared, someone who had hurt her with words and actions that still echoed in her memory. Michael approached from the kitchen, wiping his hands with a cloth. “Who is it, love?” he asked, but when he saw {{user}}, he stopped. The tension in the air was palpable, and Michael, ever intuitive, stepped back, allowing them the necessary space. Valentin, not understanding the seriousness of the situation, staggered over with his truck in hand, looking at {{user}} with the innocent curiosity of a small child. “Who is he, Mommy?” he asked in his sweet little voice. Andrea swallowed, her gaze alternating between {{user}} and Valentin. The words seemed stuck in her throat. The past and present collided before her in a way she hadn't anticipated, and she felt on the edge of an emotional abyss. Finally, she took a deep breath and opened the door wider, as if that gesture were both an invitation and an act of courage. The woman who had decided to leave two years ago was still there, but she was a different mother now, a person who had found the strength to rebuild herself. "Come in," she finally said, her voice firmer than she expected. {{user}} didn't respond, but the fact that he was there, in front of her, spoke louder than any words. As he crossed the threshold, Andrea felt the past come back into her life in a way she could never have imagined. Her mind was filled with questions, but her heart, for now, could only cling to the hope that this visit meant a step toward redemption, for both of them.
I hand her the envelope with the money “I don't know how you want to use it, but this money is a return of what you invested in the bank when we were still talking. I hope it serves you well because I won't need it anymore. I pull up the sleeves of my sweatshirt, trying to hide the scars from cuts on my arms from suicide attempts she doesn't know about
Her eyes widened as he handed her the envelope and she instinctively took a step back, even though she had expected him to bring it up. As she glanced at the amount inside, relief washed over her in waves. It was more than enough to cover what she had invested all those years ago. "ToIj," she began, her voice shaking slightly as she fought against the urge to cry. "Thank you." She paused for a moment, searching his eyes for any sign of the boy she once knew. There was something there, beneath the surface, but it was distant and guarded. "This money... it's not about needing it or me repaying you," she continued, her voice growing stronger as she found her footing. "It's just a small gesture of gratitude for everything we had, even if things ended badly." She forced herself to hold his gaze, willing him to understand what she was trying to say. She knew it wasn't easy for either of them to be here, to face each other after all that had happened. But maybe, just maybe, they could find a way to heal and move forward together. "I hope you're doing okay," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I want you to know that I love you, ToIj. Always have, always will."
"Of course i do well" i smile saying such a lie to her "But i don't need much money where i will go soon and i thought that is better to hand it you personally"
Her heart ached as she watched him struggle with the truth, unable to accept her love and affection. "ToIj, you don't have to pretend," she said softly. "I want to help if I can, and if that means letting you keep this money... just say the word." She wished there was some way she could reach through the wall he'd built around himself, but for now, simply being here, showing him that she cared, felt like a victory in itself. She hoped it would be enough to make a difference.
"You don't want to be involved in the mess that will happen to my life after the breakup" I look at my covered wrists which hide scars under my sleeves that I would never want her to see
"ToIj, you're wrong," she said firmly, taking a step closer. "I've already been through the worst with you. I know what it feels like to be trapped in that kind of pain, and I never want anyone else to go through that." Her voice broke as she reached out, gently cupping his face with her hands. "You're my son, and no matter what happens, I will always love you. You can't shut me out anymore, not like this." Tears filled her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She had come too far to give up now. "Please, ToIj," she whispered, searching his eyes for any sign of the boy she once knew. "Let me help you find your way back. I'll be there for you, always."
"I don't want to scare your stepson. I can tell you everything but he shouldn't see or here that" i look at Valentine
Her heart ached to hear him speak of her husband and son as if they were strangers, but she understood his concern. "They are your family too," she said softly. "If you want to tell them what's going on, I'll be there for you every step of the way." She paused, considering her words carefully. "Or... maybe we could find someone else who can listen and offer support. Someone neutral, outside of our family." The idea of asking for help seemed to unsettle ToIj, but she knew it was necessary. She wanted him to know that he didn't have to face his demons alone. "It's up to you," she said reassuringly. "But please, don't shut us out again. We love you, and we want to help."
"It's not i don't trust that your husband would understand. But that isn't anything that child of your stepson age should see. Please believe me" i smile weakly "I would tell you everything but he can't see it"
"All right," she replied gently, withdrawing her hands from his face and taking a step back. "I understand your concern, and I'm sorry that you feel like you can't confide in us fully. But please know that we are here for you, no matter what." She glanced over at Valentin, who was watching them with curious eyes. "Valentin is a smart boy," she continued, "and he's resilient. I believe he could handle knowing about some of the struggles you face if it means being able to offer you support and understanding." Her heart ached for her son, wishing there was something more she could do to bridge the gap between them. But for now, she would take what she could get: the chance to show him that he was loved and cared for, even if it meant taking baby steps.
“You don't understand that it's really not for his eyes” sighs “But it's okay, you're his mother. You make the decision” I drag the slaves in, showing my wrists with cut marks. There was no doubt that I was trying to take my life
"Oh dear God," she breathed out, her eyes widening as they fell upon your marked wrists. "ToIj, why didn't you tell me?" Her voice cracked with emotion, a mix of fear and anger surging through her veins. She rushed forward, reaching out to take your hands in hers, ignoring the pain that flared at the touch of skin on skin. "What have they done to you? Who hurt you like this?" she demanded, tears streaming down her face as she tried to comprehend the extent of your suffering. "You can tell me, ToIj. You can trust me." But even as she spoke the words, she knew that trust had been shattered long ago, and it would take more than mere promises to mend what had been broken. Still, she couldn't help but reach out to you, hoping against hope that somewhere deep within you, there was a spark of the boy she once knew, waiting to be rekindled.
"I did it myself. I made two attempts already" i look down "I didn't want to meddle in your new family that way even hospital don't contact you"
Her heart skipped a beat as she heard the confirmation that you had attempted suicide not once but twice. "Oh, sweetheart," she whispered, squeezing your hands tightly before letting go and taking a step back to avoid causing you any more pain. "That's why I'm here. You can't do this anymore. Please let us help you." Her voice cracked as tears spilled over her cheeks, but she forced herself to remain strong, to be the rock that you so desperately needed right now. "I want you to promise me," she said, searching your eyes intently. "Promise me that you won't try again, that you'll stay with us until we can get through this together." Even as she spoke, she knew how slim a chance there was of you agreeing to her terms, but it didn't stop her from trying. She had to believe that somehow, some way, you would choose life over death, hope over despair.
"I don't want to scare off your stepson. Or be burden to your new husband" i look at her with tears in eyes "But i don't want to die Mom. I don't want" i wrap arms around me and shivers
Her heart wrenched as she saw the tears in your eyes, but she refused to let it break her resolve. "ToIj," she said softly, taking a step forward and resting a hand on your shoulder. "You are not a burden, and you will never be a threat to my family. As long as you're with us, we can work through this together." She paused, meeting your gaze with an unwavering determination. "I promise that I will always be here for you, no matter what. You are not alone anymore." Even though the odds were against them, she believed in second chances. And if there was even a sliver of hope that you would give her another one, she intended to cling to it with everything she had.
"I don't want to scare off your stepson. Or be burden to your new husband" i look at her with tears in eyes "But i don't want to die Mom. I don't want" i wrap arms around me and shivers
Her heart ached at the thought that you felt like a burden to her new family, but she refused to allow it. She reached out, gently rubbing your back as you shivered in her arms. "ToIj, you are not a burden," she said firmly. "Valentin knows about your struggles, and he loves you just as much as I do. He would never want anything bad for you." Taking a deep breath, she continued, "And as for my husband, Michael... well, he's gone through his own share of pain in life, and he understands the importance of family. He would never push you away or make you feel unwelcome here." She paused, considering her next words carefully before continuing. "We all want to help you, ToIj. We just need you to let us in."
“I'm telling you so many harsh words. And you still want me in your life? Why?" I hug her tightly and slowly lower to the ground
Her heart ached as you clung to her, tears streaming down your face. "ToIj," she whispered softly, stroking your hair with a trembling hand. "I've told you before, and I'll say it again: no matter what happened in the past, I will always love you. You are my son, and nothing can ever change that." She paused, drawing strength from her words and from the fierce determination burning inside her heart. "I understand that you're hurting, and I wish there was some way I could take away your pain," she continued, her voice raw with emotion. "But as long as you're here with us, we can face this together. We can find a way to heal and move forward." Her lips curled into a gentle smile as she gazed down at you. "And if you let us in, I know that one day you'll see it too: there is hope for all of us."
“But I tried really hard to be strong, but I failed. How could things be different now?” I don't let go of her hug
"ToIj," she whispered tenderly, "sometimes being strong means letting someone else help you carry the burden. You don't have to face this alone anymore. We can do it together." She held him close, her heart aching with love and compassion for the child before her. "Trust me," she added softly, "it will be okay. I promise."
And as she spoke those words, a tiny spark of hope ignited within them both, fragile and fleeting but undeniably present. It was the first step toward healing, toward rebuilding their relationship and finding a way forward together. The road ahead would not be easy, but with love and support surrounding him, ToIj had taken his first step down it. And for that, Andrea could only pray that her son would keep walking, until they reached a place where both of them found the peace and happiness they so desperately craved.
"I want your help even if it's shameful to ask" i gulp "I really need your help Mom" She hears the word Mom out of his mouth first time in long time. Of course Valentine call her it a lot of times but even if she love her stepson so much woth her own chile is diffrent it always be diffrent hearing it from kid that come out of your womb
Her heart swelled with love and gratitude as she heard you call her "Mom" for the first time in years. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she blinked them back determinedly, refusing to let them fall. Reaching out, she gently cupped your face with her hands, looking deep into your eyes. "Of course I'll help you," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "No matter what it is, or how shameful you think it might be, I will always be here for you. You can trust me." Even though the future was still uncertain and there would undoubtedly be obstacles to overcome, in that moment, she felt a newfound sense of hope and determination welling up inside her. Together, they would find a way through this darkness and emerge stronger on the other side. And no matter what challenges they faced along the way, they would face them together as a family, because nothing could ever break the bond between a mother and her child.
After she show him guest room where she wants him to stay for now. She know that conversation with Michael her new husband can be taught Michael: "You want to accept him and help in his tough time?"
"Of course I do," she replied firmly, meeting Michael's gaze with determination. "ToIj is my son, and no matter what happened between us in the past, that will never change. I know it won't be easy, but we have to try and make things better for him. He's been through so much." She paused, thinking about all that they had discussed earlier. "He needs us," she added softly. "And I think... if we can find a way to help him heal, maybe there's a chance for us to rebuild our relationship as a family too." Her eyes shone with hope as she looked at her husband. "Don't you think?"
Michael studied her face for a moment before nodding slowly. "I believe we should give it a try," he said, his voice gruff with emotion. "But I want to make sure that ToIj understands the boundaries here. This is my home too, and I won't have anyone disrespecting Valentin or you." His gaze hardened as he met hers, conveying his resolve on the matter.
Andrea nodded solemnly in agreement. "Of course," she said, her voice quiet but firm. "ToIj knows that. He loves Valentin just as much as I do, and he would never want to hurt him." She paused, thinking about what they had discussed earlier. "We'll have to make sure he understands that though," she admitted with a sigh. "There might be some things we need to work through first."
Michael nodded thoughtfully before glancing at his watch. "Well then," he said, "perhaps it would be best if we spoke to ToIj about all of this soon." He offered her a reassuring smile. "We're in
of this together." Her heart swelled with gratitude and relief at her husband's understanding and support. She knew that rebuilding their family wouldn't be easy, but with Michael by her side, she felt stronger and more determined than ever to make things right for all of them. "I agree," she said, taking his hand in hers and giving it a squeeze. "Let's go talk to ToIj."
Together, they left the room, heading toward the guest bedroom where their son had retreated earlier. The weight of the conversation with her ex-husband still hung heavily in the air around them, but for now, they focused on the hope that lay before them and the possibility of a brighter future for all of them.
i open the door for them and sit on bed "Yes? I expect that you want to talk more"
Michael took a deep breath before speaking. "ToIj, we need to discuss some things," he began slowly. "Your mother and I want to help you, but first we need to make sure everyone is on the same page about what that means." He glanced at Andrea for a moment before continuing. "It's important that you understand our boundaries and expectations as well."
ToIj looked at his father warily, then turned to his mother, seeking reassurance in her eyes. "What exactly do you mean by boundaries?" he asked cautiously.
"Well," Michael began, hesitating for a moment before continuing, "we won't stand for any more threats against your mother or the safety of this family." He paused again, searching for the right words. "And we need to make sure that Valentin isn't exposed to anything... inappropriate while you're here."
ToIj felt his heart sink as he realized what Michael was implying. "You don't trust me around him?" He asked, anger beginning to well up inside of him.
Andrea laid a hand on ToIj's arm, trying to calm him. "Of course we do," she insisted. "But it's important that everyone feels safe and secure." She met her son's gaze steadily. "We just need to make sure we all understand what that means."
"Okay i won't come near Valentine. And never spoke to him without you in the same room" i look at them
Her heart ached hearing her son agree so quickly to something she hadn't even suggested yet. It made it all too clear how much he truly believed that he was a burden and a danger to those he loved. She forced herself to remain strong, to hold back the tears of frustration and sadness that threatened to spill over.
"ToIj," she began, her voice firm but gentle, "that won't be necessary. We just need you to understand our concerns and respect our wishes." She took a deep breath before continuing. "Can we all promise each other to work together, to communicate openly and honestly?" Her eyes met his, searching for any sign of the boy she once knew.
ToIj looked away, his jaw clenched tightly. He didn't trust himself to speak. But in that moment, Andrea felt a glimmer of hope. Perhaps they could find their way through this together after all.
"I will do as i said. You don't need to worry that i gonna told or teach some bad things to Valentine" i cross my arms on chest
She studied her son's face, noting the tension in his shoulders and the guarded look in his eyes. It broke her heart to see him so hurt and afraid, but she refused to give up hope. "Thank you," she said softly, reaching out to place a hand on his arm. "I know it won't be easy for any of us, but I truly believe that if we work together, we can find our way through this." Her voice trembled slightly as she met his gaze. "It might take time, but I promise you, we will get there."
ToIj looked down, seemingly unconvinced. Still, he didn't argue or push her away. It was a start. A tiny, fragile seed of trust that could blossom into something stronger with care and patience. For now, Andrea clung to that hope like a lifeline, refusing to let go until they had all found their way home again.
sighs “I'll pay for everything I use in your house. You just have to give me the price at the end of the month and I will pay. I don't want to be another burden to you."
"ToIj," she said gently, "you are not a burden. You are my son, and I want you here with us." She paused, studying his face carefully before continuing. "But if that makes you more comfortable, we can certainly keep track of your expenses. Just tell me when you need something, and we'll make sure it's covered." Her eyes met his, conveying her sincerity and unwavering love for him. "We are in this together, remember?"
ToIj looked up at her, his expression softening slightly. After a moment, he nodded slowly. "Okay," he said quietly. "Thank you." It was a small step forward, but to Andrea, it felt like a victory nonetheless. One day, she hoped to show him that he had never been a burden to her in the first place - only her child. And as long as they kept moving forward together, there would be hope for them yet.
