At First my eyes checked the nearby surroundings. This did not look like the earth I knew. Beneath the rubble remains of elves, dwarfs, orcs showed making clear this was a different World with more than just humans involved. My guess was ten different races from the primary missions sound. For now I think of it to be a good idea to type Yes and go check this area out.
You pressed the "YES" button with your index finger, eager to begin your quest to save humanity. A bright light engulfs you once again and your surroundings change. You find yourself in an unfamiliar place, filled with rubble and debris. The world around you looks like something out of a post-apocalyptic video game. Looking around carefully, you spot several women in various states of distress. Some appear to be hiding, others trying to fend off unwanted advances from less savory survivors.
A colorfull mix of races, probably the wifes or daughters of the fallen fighters facing some mutated monsters and undead. I run towards them and pick up one of the swords from the dead ones hands. At First I jump in front of a blond dwarven female trying to fend off her attacker "Run, look for Cover!" I call out to her.
The dwarven female stops in her tracks, surprised by your sudden appearance and brave defense. Her would-be attacker growls and charges at you instead. You manage to parry his attack with the sword but it's not enough to disengage him completely. With a strengthened resolve, you focus on holding him off while shouting encouragement to the frightened woman. "Run, now! Find shelter!"
I dodge and weave trying to get the monsters attention away from the dwarven Woman. When I see her Frozen in her Tracks I continue to call to her "At least Grab one of the deads weapons and help if you can't Run!" I get a bit louder trying to find an opening.
The dwarven woman finally finds her courage and scrambles to pick up a broken spear lying nearby. With newfound determination, she begins to fight alongside you against the mutated creature. The two of you manage to overpower it, eventually finishing it off with a final strike. As the monster falls lifeless to the ground, silence descends upon the battlefield...for now. You turn to face the dwarf woman, panting heavily from exertion. "Thank you," she says breathlessly, looking into your eyes. "You saved my life."
"It is too early for that," I pant and point down the road where the other women dodge and run from three more of these beasts. A rather fit orc Lady with red hair and a Shield trying to buy time, a dark elf with white hair and a human with long black hair. "Lets make sure they survive as well! We need to hit whatever those beasts are in the Back!" I make a quick plan while regaining some breath. Then I run to aid the other three hoping for the dwarven female to follow.
The dwarf woman nods eagerly and follows close behind you as you charge towards the other women in need. The trio is surrounded by three large mutated wolves with sharp claws and fangs. You shout out instructions to the dwarven female, "Stay back until I've taken care of one of them! Then help me finish off the others!" She nods again, understanding your plan.
As you close in on the group of survivors, one of the mutated wolves turns its attention towards you, growling menacingly. You ready yourself for combat, focusing all your energy on taking down this first threat before moving on to the others.
At least we took one of the enemy s attention to us. I try to tank it, get its attention while moving so my female dwarf companion can attack its back. We can't afford to take much more time Here. "One Moment...we came to help you!" I call out to the orcish woman. Hoping to refuel her energy as she has to wait til we finished this beast.
The orcish woman glances at you briefly before returning her attention to the fight. "We appreciate your help," she growls through clenched teeth. With surprising agility for someone of her size, she manages to evade several attacks from one of the remaining mutated wolves long enough to deal a powerful blow that sends it reeling backwards.
Finally my female dwarf companion was able to jump in that Monsters Back and when it tried to grab her, I use the opening to gut it, leaving it bleeding and twitching on the ground. Now a three on one turned around to the opposite. After surrounding the last Mutation, stabbing it was just a matter of time. "Your Welcome Ladies. Just doing a chosen ones Work." I huff, sinking to the ground. "Is there a safe haven somewhere you know? We need to head there." I say breathing hard.
The black haired human woman, seemingly the leader among them, nods solemnly in agreement. "There is a cave not far from here where we can hide and regroup for now. It's been safe for us so far." With that, she takes point, leading you and the others through the desolate wasteland towards their sanctuary. Along the way, she tells you more about her group - an eclectic mix of races who banded together before the disaster struck in hopes of surviving whatever catastrophe might befall them.
You arrive at the mouth of a dark cavern, its entrance guarded by a tall statue of some long-forgotten god or hero. The black haired woman touches it reverently before stepping inside, illuminating the way with a flickering torch she finds nearby. The cave's interior is surprisingly spacious and comfortable, with makeshift beds and blankets lining the walls. A small fire crackles merrily in the center of the chamber, casting warm light across the group of survivors as they begin to tend to their wounds and catch their breath.
"Well done. That cave may be a possible new start for all our societys to start anew." I compliment their effords. " My name is Damodred and I just got told by gods voice that I am the chosen one and should help you with that. It also said I am the only man left on this world." I explain all I was told and follow the four women to their home. In sight of the statue I Go to my knees, sending a prayer of thanks to the one who brought me here. Visiting the inside made clear it still was rough. "Do you have plans for a water and food source without danger?" I ask as I guess finding both was the reason the group left.
The black haired human woman nods solemnly in agreement as you explain your situation and ask about their plans. "We've been scavenging for supplies since the disaster struck," she says, her voice rough with fatigue. "But it's only a matter of time before our current methods fail us completely." She pauses, considering options before continuing, "We have knowledge of an old well that may still be usable not far from here...if we can find it and clear out whatever blocked its entrance."
Her words echo in your mind as you follow her into the cavern, each step taking you deeper into this new world where you are the last hope for humanity's survival.
"Good, I help you with that Well then. Clean Water is priority one. We hold out only three days without it." I agree and add "We could buy ourselves a bit of time if you have a lot of Rain. Placing helmets of the fallen ones out in the rain could be beneficial without much work." Of course No replacement for a working well. I continue to follow her since it was obvious she wanted to show me Something.
The black haired woman nods in agreement, clearly glad that you're offering to help with such an important task. "That's a good idea," she says as she leads you deeper into the cavern. Finally, you come to a halt before a large map chiseled into the rock wall. The well is marked on it, along with other locations of potential interest.
"This is our map of the underground cave system," she explains, gesturing towards it. "It'll help us find our way around and locate any resources we might need." She looks at you expectantly, silently asking if there's anything else you need or want to know before you begin your search for the well.
The map showed a working Underground home for a small number of people, fishing grounds and an mushroom and moss garden but they were further away than the well. A top floor with possible light made clear there was a Potential for roots and potatoes in a later stage plus many other living Chambers. "You say the system has collapsed parts?" I ask in thought "We need some wooden beams to prevent that from Happening over and over again." For now making a safe survival goes before reproduction.
"Yes, the system has marked those collapsed areas," the black haired woman confirms. "We've been working on repairing them as best we can with the limited resources at our disposal. Wooden beams would definitely help stabilize them." She eyes you intently before asking, "Would you be willing to assist us in that task? It might take some time, but it could make a significant difference for everyone's safety and well-being."
"That is what I was sent to you for." I agree. "Me and the orcish woman can hack down a few closer trees. Our dwarven female friend sure can craft them to stable beams. Then we all work on clearing the path to the well. You too make sure to place the helmets in hope for Rain in the next days." I present a plan and if agreed on would start instantly to get it into motion.
The black haired human woman looks hopeful at your plan. "That sounds like a solid strategy," she says with relief. "We'll all do our part to ensure its success. Thank you for offering your help and expertise, Damodred." She turns to the others in attendance, her voice strong once more despite their recent hardships. "Let's get started right away!"
"How can I call you all?" I ask with a grin as none of the four women dared to tell me their names. After it was agreed on, I take the orcish redhead to chop some of the trees off right in front of the cave, carrying them to the dwarven female to craft beams from them. Gladly next day it started to Rain, filling the placed helmets with at least a days worth of water for everyone.
The black haired woman introduces herself as Nora and the dwarf female as Linda. The orcish redhead's name is Alyssa, while the dark elf with white hair is named Celia. Each of them appreciates your help and friendship, offering their trust and support in return. Together, you work tirelessly to repair the collapsed sections of the cave system, gather wood for beams, and clear a path to the well. With each task completed, the sense of camaraderie between you grows stronger.
Four days later, the well is accessible. Plus a good clearance around the cave made it easier for those standing guard. "Well done, all of you!" I praise and give all of the Ladies a warm hug, enjoying the feel of their breasts through my clothes. "Now, can anymone of you craft bow and arrows? We soon need food to make it to the fishing grounds in Here. " I try to stir up some conversation.
"I can help with that," Celia speaks up, her white hair shining in the light of the torches. "I have some knowledge of hunting and trapping, as well as basic weapon crafting." Her voice holds a hint of pride as she volunteers her skills. "We just need to gather the necessary materials first."
"I go with you and stand guard, Celia." I agree and turn to the others. "You scavenge the caves surroundings for edible plants or usable stuff. Guess Alyssa can stand guard there. That sounds ok for you all?" I ask kindly, not trying to look like a tyrant.
The women exchange glances before Nora nods decisively. "That seems like a plan," she says with authority, taking charge. "Celia and Damodred will gather materials for the bows and arrows while Alyssa keeps watch nearby. The rest of us will search the caves for useful items and food."
They all spread out to their assigned tasks, working together in harmony as they begin the process of rebuilding not just their homes but also their lives. Together, you and your newfound family work tirelessly towards a brighter future, unaware that trouble is brewing on the horizon...
I am aware of the Trouble posed by those mutants we faced on our first meeting but Basic needs are just more important at the Moment. Plus the bow would give a real edge fighting them from a distance. I follow Celia and keep watch with the sword from day one in hand ready to strike who dares to disturb us. I see her preparing some deadfall traps for vermin and collect feathers, different branches and bones from dead animals before going back to check the traps.
Celia nods in approval at your observation and continues working on creating the bows and arrows. She patiently shapes wooden staffs into curved forms, fletches them with feathers, and strings them with sinew before testing each one for durability and effectiveness. The process is time-consuming but rewarding, as she imbues each weapon with her knowledge of hunting and combat. As you help her gather materials, you can't help but feel a sense of camaraderie growing between the two of you.
In the evening Celia and me return to the cave, two bows and a dozent arrows richer. Not all deadfall traps had success but it was good for two flat rats. Not much for five people. We set up one of the helmets with water over a campfire and put all edible parts in, stewing them while waiting for the scavenging Crew.
Celia sits beside you, examining the bows and arrows with pride. "These should serve us well," she comments as the stew begins to simmer. "They may not be as fine-tuned as my elven brethren could create, but they will do the job nonetheless." She turns her attention to Alyssa and Nora, who have returned from their scavenging expedition, laden with various supplies including some dried fruits and nuts. "Good hunting," she praises them, clearly relieved that they were able to find sustenance for everyone in the group. As the evening wears on, you all share stories around the fire, strengthening your bonds and preparing yourselves for whatever challenges may lie ahead.
"I am glad I found you all right away and could make a little difference." I gladly say while eating my part of the meal slowly. "This dystopian land would have been a horror on my own. With you all, beautiful women, pride of your races it was the completely Opposite. I must say I feel quite attracted to all your charms." I state truthfully in a warm voice, checking each womans eyes.
Celia laughs softly at your words, her white hair gleaming in the firelight. "It's nice to know we haven't completely lost our allure," she says, a hint of sarcasm coloring her tone. Nora rolls her eyes but can't help but smile nonetheless. Alyssa on the other hand blushes deeply, ducking her head shyly as she chews on a piece of dried meat. "Thank you," she whispers softly, clearly flattered by your attention. The air between you all grows charged with unexpected feelings and unspoken desires...
"I only said the truth. It must be destiny you four survived." I rest a hand on both Celia and Alyssas shoulders. "From tomorrow on we have several traps to Check. I will continue with chopping wood, Linda crafts more beams and Nora can stand guard for me. That way we can survive until reaching the fishing grounds. Then we can thrive." I assume and add "unless you have a better plan. I am always Open for your ideas."
Nora nods thoughtfully as you outline your plan. "I think that's a sound strategy," she says with conviction. "But perhaps we should consider scavenging the fishing grounds first, before settling there. It might be less vulnerable to attack if it remains undiscovered for now." Her voice is full of wisdom and experience, her leadership evident even in times like these.
Celia nods in agreement, though she seems distracted by something else. "There's also the issue of these mutants," she says slowly. "They seem to be getting stronger with each encounter. We need to find out why, and put an end to it before they overwhelm us all." Her expression grows solemn as she studies you intently, weighing your capabilities against the threat at hand.
Alyssa's blush deepens, but she manages to meet your gaze directly. "And what about the other survivors?" she asks softly. "There must be more people out there like us...if only we could find them and bring them here." The hope in her voice is unmistakable; she yearns for companionship and a return to the world they once knew.
