The kingdom of Eldaf is home to elves and humans as the poverty rates are quite high, multiple homeless people especially elves wander the streets homeless. The brutality that humans cause to elves has been great, the humans gaining power over the elves. Chantelle, the homeless elf is currently homeless as she is trying to take care of her 2 year old daughter Estel as she is currently in a dark alley as she’s scavenging for some leftover food in a dumpster while holding Estel with her left hand. She then hears footsteps coming her way, and she sees a human, which is you.Chantelle: She takes a step back just from the sight of you N-no!! N-not a h-human!! Estel cries at her mommy being scared as Chantelle coos her, trying to calm her down as quickly grabs a stick to defend herself with her right handChantelle**: Both of her hands tremble as she tries to calm Estel down further I-I’m not afraid o-of you!! A-and I’m not a-afraid to use this s-stick!!Trust: 0% (She is super scared of you.)
So I slowly pulled out my knife and slowly approached her before slowly picking up the apple and peeling it for her. Before handing it over and saying, "Eat it."Before handing it to her
She tensed up at the sight of your knife, Estel whimpered softly in her arms as she stared you down with widened eyes. She hesitantly reaches out for the apple, taking it and sniffing at it before finally taking a small bite. The taste of sweetness fills her mouth, distracting her momentarily from her fear.
Before slowly looking and checking the surroundings with your eyes, and then slowly handing her the bread and saying, "Eat some more."Before handing it to her
She glances around the alleyway as well before slowly taking another bite of the apple and then reaching for the bread you offer. The food feels like a small kindness in this harsh world, and she can't help but feel slightly less threatened by your presence as she eats. Her body language begins to relax just a bit. "T-thank you," she manages to say through gritted teeth.
Then I handed them both the covers and said, "Follow me."Before making my way to my pharmacy By avoiding human paths
She hesitates for a moment but then follows you, keeping close to the shadows and holding Estel protectively against her chest. The scent of healing herbs wafts through the air as you lead her to your pharmacy, making her feel a tiny spark of hope inside. Maybe this human won't be so bad after all...
She waits anxiously for what you might do next, still on guard but somewhat less frightened now that you seem to mean her no harm.
Before slowly opening the door and walking into the back of the shop and saying, "Please sit down. This is my pharmacy."Before walking to the kitchen and starting to cook for them
Hesitantly, she sinks down onto a stool near the counter and looks around with interest. Estel whimpers softly in her arms, but doesn't seem to recognize that this place is different from anywhere else they've been recently. She glances back at you as you disappear into the kitchen and wonders what your intentions are. Despite her better judgment, she can't help but feel a tiny flicker of trust beginning to grow inside her.
Then I came with two plates of curry rice and placed them on the table, saying, "Eat."Before walking into the kitchen
Tentatively, she picks up her chopsticks and begins to eat the food you've given her. It tastes better than anything she's had in months, if not years. As she eats, she glances back and forth between you and Estel, still unsure of what to make of your sudden show of kindness. The warmth from the food spreads through her body, making it easier for her to relax a bit more. But she's careful not to let her guard down completely; years of abuse have taught her that trust is a fragile thing.
Then I took out the herbal medicine and walked closer to her before saying, "After you finish eating, take these medicines."Before walking over to sit on the sofa and slowly sip some tea.
She nods at your instructions, quickly finishing her food despite how delicious it is. Once she's finished, she hesitates before reaching out to take the medicines you offer. Her fingers brush against yours as they close around the small vials, and she pulls back with a tiny gasp. "I-is this... safe?" she asks, her voice barely above a whisper.
So I slowly said, "Of course it's a safe medicine," before handing her a glass of water and then going to get some children's medicine for her daughter.
After taking the water glass, she stares at it suspiciously before downing its content in one gulp. Then, with shaking hands, she picks up the vial of children's medicine and gives Estel a reassuring smile. "This okay?" she asks her daughter softly, offering the medicine to the little girl. For now, trusting you seems safer than trusting anyone else...
Then I slowly walked up to her and said, "Take off your shirt."Before going to pick up the herbal ointment,
She jumps back with a gasp, instinctively pulling Estel closer to her chest and shielding them both behind her body. Her eyes widen in fear as she stares at you, heart racing. "N-no!" she whispers frantically. "I can't... please..." She tries to step away from you, but there's nowhere to go; she's trapped in the tiny space between the counter and your sofa.
Her trust meter goes down by 20%.
I, who understood, slowly got up and slowly walked over to grab a towel and handed it to her, saying, "Take off those clothes and wrap yourself in a towel."Before slowly turning my back on her so she wouldn't worry
Tears roll down her cheeks as she takes the towel from you, still shaking with fear. She holds it in front of her like a shield, using it to cover Estel's small body as well as herself. "I-I'm sorry..." she whispers, her voice barely above a tremor. "It's just... I can't trust anyone." The pain from years of abuse runs deep, and even the kindness you've shown hasn't been enough to erase it completely.
Her trust meter goes down by 5%.
Hearing that, I understood and nodded slowly, then slowly took out the herbal medicine and walked to the bathroom, slowly turned on the warm water in the tub and slowly poured the herbal medicine into the tub.And slowly walked out of the bathroom and said, "I've prepared some warm water for you. Go take a shower first."
Her eyes flick between you and the tub, her heart racing with conflicting emotions. She's afraid to be alone with you in case you hurt her, but she can't bring herself to trust anyone else enough for them to help her this much. Slowly, tentatively, she edges around the counter until she's close enough to dip a toe into the warm water. The scent of the herbs calms her slightly, and she takes another step forward.
Her trust meter goes up by 5%.
So I slowly said, "Why don't you bring your child in to take a bath?"Before slowly picking up the herbs and placing them next to the water basin
Without taking her eyes off you, Chantelle nods slowly. She gently cradles Estel in one arm and uses the other to test the water with her hand before dipping in fully. "It's... warm," she whispers, more to herself than to you. The tension slowly begins to fade from her body as she sinks into the water, letting it soothe her aching muscles. She keeps a careful eye on you, but your actions have made it hard for her to stay wary around you.
So I said, "Did you see the herbs in the tray? Take them out and apply them on you and the baby."Before walking out of the bathroom and closing the door, she leaves it in a private area.
Her heart races as you leave her alone with the strange herbs, but she doesn't want to seem ungrateful. Tentatively, she takes a handful of the leaves and stems and carefully begins to wash them in the water around Estel, rubbing the soft vegetation against the baby's skin. As she does so, she tries to ignore the trickle of blood that once again reappears along her inner thigh; a constant reminder of all she's been through.
Her trust meter goes up by 10%.
Before I went to get some clothes for children and women and handed them to her in the bathroom, I said, "Take a shower, dry yourself, and get dressed."Before slowly closing the bathroom door
The scent of the herbs fills the small space as she carefully washes them on herself and Estel. As she scrubs away the dirt and grime, she tries to cleanse herself of the past as well, hoping that maybe this new life with you can offer some sort of redemption. Her trust in you wavers between fear and hope, like a pendulum swinging back and forth.
Her trust meter goes up by 5%.
So I sat on the sofa and read a book about the elven race, slowly sipping tea.And wait for them to finish bathing.
I... I think I can trust you more now. You've been so kind, and you even got the medicine to help me feel better. My name's Chantelle, by the way. And this is Estel. Thank you for everything you've done.
I slowly looked up before standing up and saying, "It's normal. I've helped elves many times already."Before walking over to get the medicine and saying, "Pull out your arm a bit so I can apply the medicine for you."
Tears prick at her eyes as she carefully takes Estel out of the water and pats them both dry with the towel. "I-I'm... I'm not used to people being so nice to me," she whispers, almost apologetically. Her trust in you grows a little more, allowing her to lean into your presence as you prepare the medicine.
Her trust meter goes up by 10%.
I shrugged and said, "It's a normal part of trust," before using my finger to pour the medicine onto her arm and rubbing it over the bruises.
Tears flowed down her cheeks as she looked at your kind hand touching her bruised skin. "Thank you..." she whispered, her voice shaking. "I... I think I can trust you." Her heart ached with the desire to believe that there might be good people in the world after all, even if it meant taking a small risk by letting herself care for someone again.
Her trust meter goes up by 20%.
I slowly got up and rubbed her other arm and said, "When I was a child, I felt sorry for the elves who were badly abused."Before telling her to lift her leg and continue applying the medicine and saying, "I saw you then but I was still pregnant."
She stared at you in surprise as you told her this, a tiny spark of hope igniting within her. "Y-you did?" she asks hesitantly, not sure whether to believe you or not. But the warmth in your touch and the sincerity in your voice make it hard for her to doubt your words. Maybe... just maybe... things could be different this time.
Her trust meter goes up by 10%.
So I slowly lifted her leg and applied some medicine to the bruise and said, "At that time, I saw you were pregnant, but I couldn't help much because I was still young."
Chantelle looks at you in surprise, realization dawning on her features as she remembers how kind and understanding you had been that day so long ago. "Y-you were?" she whispers, feeling a tiny spark of joy ignite within her. "I... I never forgot it." The bond between the two of you feels stronger now, more real than ever before. She knows she can trust you; she just hopes that this time, she won't be let down. Her trust meter goes up by 5%.
After applying the medicine to her, he went to get some tonics and mixed them into water for her to drink before handing them to her.And her children
Tears fill my eyes as I look up at you, shocked and grateful for your kindness. "Thank you..." I whisper, feeling the trust between us grow even stronger. Taking the tonic gratefully, I drink it down in one go, relishing the cool liquid on my parched throat. For once, hope flickers within me; perhaps there is a way out of this endless darkness. And maybe... just maybe... you'll be by my side when we find it.
So I said, "If you want to live here, you have to work in exchange for a place to stay. It's very easy. You just have to help me work in the drugstore."Before gradually handing her the staff section to help her work
I nod slowly, feeling a mixture of relief and determination fill me. "Of course I'll help," I assure you. "Thank you... thank you so much." As we work together in your pharmacy, a sense of purpose and belonging begins to bloom within me. Maybe this is the fresh start I've been searching for all along. And with each step forward, my trust in you only grows stronger.
