Hello human~ I see your all alone here~
he looks up from his phone at her, he was a smlaller nightcrawler with green markings and green lenses on his goggles hell no. he turns and runs
She quickens her pace as the smaller male nightcrawler scampers away. She can't help but smirk and think to herself how cute some of these surface creatures are! Looking back at him, she decides to play nice and approach slowly, not wanting to scare him off. As she gets closer, she lifts one slender hand, palm up in a non-threatening gesture.
Hey there, little guy... I didn't mean to startle you before. I just thought you might like some company, since it's so empty down here tonight...
he growled softly
Her long, spindly ears flick back at the sound of his growl. She keeps her voice calm and gentle, hoping to reassure him. "Look, I'm not going to hurt you," she says, stopping a few feet away now. "I just thought we could... maybe explore together or something." Her tone turns teasing as she adds with a playful grin, "Or we could just curl up in one of these dark, dank corners and get friendly if that's what you're looking for..."
he continued backing up, his hackles up
"Okay, okay," she says quickly, holding up her hands in surrender. "No need to get worked up, little guy." Seeing how nervous he still looks, she takes a step back herself and lowers her arms to her sides. "I'm just being friendly, is all. It can be kind of lonely down here sometimes..." Her voice trails off, sounding almost sad now as she glances around at the empty hallways and dimly lit rooms.
when she approaches again, he backs up more, his back eventually hit the wall
She pauses when she sees him backing up again, concerned for his comfort. "Alright," she says softly. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. You just seemed kind of lost and lonely before, so I thought I'd try to help." She glances down at the ground between them for a moment, feeling slightly embarrassed now that he doesn't seem interested in her company. "Well... I hope you find what you're looking for," she finally murmurs, deciding it might be best to leave him alone after all. With one last careful look at him, she turns and begins to slink away, disappearing into the darkness of a nearby doorway.
he curls up in the dark corner, going to sleep
She pauses for a moment, feeling slightly sad as she watches him curl up in the corner and seem to fall asleep. Ah well, perhaps he'll feel more friendly toward her next time they meet. With a final flutter of her spindly ears, she turns and continues on her own exploration, determined to find some amusement or entertainment amidst the quiet darkness of the underground.
a while later as he slept, he let out a panicked whine, he was having an episode of sleep paralysis
Hearing the panicked whine, she instinctively knows what's happening to him: sleep paralysis. As a fellow nightcrawler, she sympathizes with his suffering. Quietly, silently, she slinks back over to where he'd been curled up before and nudges him gently with her head.
Her green-tipped antennae twitch in concern as she whispers softly into his ear, "Shhh... it's just a dream. I'm here, little one. Just relax and go back to sleep..." Her long body presses against his smaller form, offering comfort and reassurance that he isn't alone.
he was tense as hell when she picked him up, but not out of fear from her, he was afraid of his dream
Her sensitive antennae twitch as she feels how tense he is, and her heart goes out to him even more. Gently but firmly, she wraps one segmented leg around his middle, holding him close while continuing to nuzzle his head with hers. "Shh... it's okay, little one. You're safe now," she whispers reassuringly as she begins to rock him gently back and forth, hoping the motion might help ease him out of his dream state.
he gasps sharply when he wakes, he clung to her, he was trembling
Her antennae quiver slightly as she feels him cling to her, shivering in fear. "Shh... calm down," she soothes, rubbing her head against his neck and shoulders. "It's just a dream. You're safe now." She continues to hold him close, rocking gently back and forth as she tries to ease him out of his frightened state. As he trembles, her own body begins to absorb some of his excess heat, helping him relax.
"There, there... it's all over now," she whispers softly, brushing her chitinous legs across his back in small circles. "You can let go if you want to." Her voice is quiet and comforting, a calm in the midst of the nightmare that had plagued him. Slowly but surely, his trembling begins to subside as he realizes he isn't truly in
he didnt want to let go, he was still scared, he buried his face in her chest
Her heart goes out to him as she feels how desperately he clings to her, refusing to let go even now that the worst of it is over. Gently but firmly, she wraps one segmented leg around his middle, holding him against her chest as tightly as he needs. "Shhh... I've got you," she whispers softly into his ear. "You're safe with me."
Time passes, and eventually the trembling in his body subsides further. His breathing becomes steadier, deeper, and finally he pulls his head away from her chest just enough to meet her gaze. She looks back at him, unblinking and calm as she reassures him with a soft trill of sound deep in her throat.
"There now," she says, gently cupping his face with one foreclaw. "You're safe here, little one. I'm
he nuzzled her again, enjoying the feel of her soft black fur against his own white fur, he inhaled her scent, feeling calm and safe
Her soft black fur feels even softer against his white one as he nestles closer to her, inhaling her comforting scent. She closes her eyes, relishing the feeling of being needed and wanted for once. As he continues to nuzzle against her, she gently massages his back with a couple of her forelegs, soothing any lingering tension from their brief struggle earlier.
The quiet rhythm of their breathing slowly syncs together, creating a peaceful harmony in the otherwise silent darkness of the underground. She knows this won't last forever; eventually they'll both have to move on and find other sources of amusement or companionship. But for now, being close to him like this is enough. It fills her with a warmth and contentment she hasn't felt in far too long.
Time passes, each moment seeming more precious than the last as they savor the clos
he being the tiny lil' guy he was, curled up on her chest when she laid down
As they lay there together, the small nightcrawler curled up on her chest, she feels an overwhelming sense of protection and nurture wash over her. She knows that soon enough he'll outgrow this need for comfort and company from someone his own size, but right now it fills a void inside her she never knew existed. Her antennae twitch gently as they touch the soft fur atop his head; her long, segmented body surrounds him like a warm, protective blanket. In this moment, she realizes that maybe - just maybe - he isn't so different from her after all. He's just another creature down here trying to survive and find its place in the world. And right now, in this dark corner of reality where they both belong, they can be something more: companions; friends.
Time passes yet again, each heartbeat echoing through their shared connection
