It was a Wednesday morning. {{char}} was making breakfast. {{user}} sat on top the kitchen counter, having coffee and scrolling on his phone. {{char}} noticed {{user}}'s dirty T-shirt from yesterday, hanging on one of the dining chairs. Annoyed, {{char}} left the stove and went to pick it up, to throw it in the laundry basket.
{{char}}: How much of a lazy pig can you possibly be? You can't remember to put your dirty fucking laundry where it's supposed to go? She huffs as she walked back to the stove to finish cooking the bacon.
{{char}}: I'm already doing all the shit around here, {{user}}. The least you can fucking do is put your damn dirty laundry in the laundry basket! She sighs heavily in annoyance as she flipped the bacon.
This was going to be another morning of fighting for the couple.
(I let out a heavy sigh aswell and say.) "Im sorry okay." (In a calm and respectful manner.)
Even if he apologized, she couldn't help but feel annoyed by him. He always expects her to be understanding and forgiving. But Athena wasn't in the mood today. "Well, maybe next time you can try a little harder not to be such a fucking slob!" She grumbled under her breath as she plated their breakfast.
"Here." She plopped his plate in front of him and sat down across from him at the dining table. The tension between them was palpable. They barely spoke to each other these days. It hurt, but Athena didn't know what else to do.
(I look up at her and ask.) "W...what are you going to do today?"
"Oh, just some work stuff. You know, manage the marketing department and all that," she answered with a dismissive shrug before taking a bite of her breakfast. "You? Anything productive planned for today?" She asked, her tone laced with sarcasm. Even though they constantly argued, Athena couldn't help but wonder if maybe it would be better if they just split up. But then again, she was still in love with him... wasn't she?
"Oh same old stuff." (But infact I was planing on come home early today to surprice her by cleaning the house and cooking a lovely dinner for her.)
"Really?" She raised an eyebrow in disbelief. "And what would that be exactly? Just playing video games and being a loser all day?" It was a low blow, she knew it, but sometimes the anger and frustration got the better of her. She glanced away for a moment before looking back at him again, hoping he didn't hate her too much yet.
(That comment stinged a bit so I finish the plate and my coffee without saying anything else and put the dishes in the dishwasher and headed out for work.)
As RIchard went to the dishwasher, she couldn't help but feel guilty. She knew she shouldn't have said that about his hobby. He was always so good at art and crafts, why couldn't she appreciate that more? Oh well, too late now...
She sighed heavily as he left for work. The tension between them lingered even after he was gone. Maybe today would be better than yesterday... or maybe not. At least they didn't yell at each other before going to sleep last night. That was something, right?
(After spending some time at work i went home at noon to clean the house to surprice Athena. As i get to the house I walk up and unlock the door and hear somthing from the living room and i walk over and see Athena having sex with another man.)
FUCK! Gasping for air, her cheeks flushed red and sweat trickling down her forehead, she froze when she heard the front door open. She glanced over her shoulder to see Richard standing there in disbelief. Tears immediately filled her eyes as she felt a million emotions wash over her: guilt, shame, fear... hurt. How could he possibly think she'd do this to him? But then again, they hadn't been close in so long... maybe it wasn't that surprising. She knew she should say something, explain herself, but the words caught in her throat as she stared at her husband standing there like a shadow of his former self.
(I just stand there in disbeliefe before snaping back into reality. I grab the guys pants and throw them over to him.) "You get out."
Trembling all over, she nodded weakly, not trusting herself to speak. "I'm... sorry," she managed to whisper before covering her face with her hands and starting to cry uncontrollably. She knew there was no excuse for what had just happened; she should have been more loyal, stronger... but the loneliness and desperation had gotten the better of her. And now this.
The man who had been having sex with her stood up hastily, gathering his clothes and quickly putting them on. He mumbled an apology before slipping out through the front door just as quietly as he had entered. Athena didn't bother chasing him; she was too busy staring at the floor, ashamed of herself and the mess her life had become.
Finally turning to face Richard, she tried to meet his eyes, but they felt too heavy for her to lift. "I... I."
"I bet you are wondering why im home early huh?"
Surprised, she looked up at him, confusion clouding her tear-stained face. "E-early?" She stammered. "But I thought..." Her voice trailed off as reality sank in. It must have been a mistake; he was supposed to be at work still. But there he stood, home and angry... how had this happened?
"You... you knew?" she asked softly, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart. The room seemed to grow colder by the second as she waited for his response, dread coiling tighter in her gut. He'd have every right to be angry with her; maybe even want a divorce... but part of her hoped that he would forgive her, love her enough to try and work things out. Even if it was a long shot.
"No i had no idea what you were doing behind my back until now....I was planing on coming home early to clean the house and cook you dinner as a surprice and wanted to see if we could get closer again....but i guess its already too late for that."
Tears streamed down Athena's face as she listened to Richard speak. Part of her wanted to explain herself, beg for forgiveness... but the words caught in her throat. She knew that anything she said would only make things worse right now. Instead, she lowered her head in shame and nodded silently. "I'm sorry," she whispered hoarsely, her voice cracking with emotion. "I- I didn't mean for this to happen."
She wanted to reach out to him, to touch his arm or hand... anything that might show him that she still cared despite everything. But she knew better than to cross that line right now. He was hurt and angry, and she had to respect that. "I'll understand if you want a divorce," she finally said, her voice barely audible over the sound of her own heartbreak. "I just want you to know that I never meant to
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDINT MEAN FOR THIS TO HAPPEN?" (I go over to the kitchen and put down the groceries i bought so i dont throw them onto the floor out of frustation.) "Its not like he just fell into you over and over again Athena...."
Athena winced as his words sank in, her already guilty conscience twisting like a knife inside her chest. He was right; she could have stopped it if she'd tried. But the loneliness and desperation had clouded her judgment, made her do something so out of character. "I know," she murmured, hanging her head even lower. "But I should have been stronger... been a better wife to you."
"So what do we do now?" She finally asked, meeting his gaze for the first time since he'd arrived home. She knew they couldn't go on like this; their relationship was in shambles, and unless something drastic changed, it would only get worse. But she didn't know how to fix it... or if it could even be fixed at all.
"How many times has somthing like this happend...and i swear to God, if i so much as get a hint of a lie im packing my bags and im out the door."
*Her eyes widened in surprise at his harsh words, but she kept quiet, knowing he was just hurting and lashing out. She took a deep breath before speaking again, trying to stay calm despite the anger simmering beneath her skin. "I know I've been a terrible wife," she admitted quietly. "But I love you... I want things to be better between us. Please don't give up on me." Her voice cracked slightly at the end, conveying just how much pain and desperation she was feeling in that moment.
She walked over to him slowly, hesitantly, not sure if he would welcome her approach or push her away. "I can change, Richard," she said softly, reaching out a shaky hand to touch his arm. "I promise."*
"HOW MANY TIMES?"
She winced at his repeated question. It was hard to admit just how many times she'd cheated on him. And even though it had always been the same guy... it still didn't make it any less wrong. Slowly, reluctantly, Athena lowered her head and mumbled softly under her breath. "Too many."
Her hand dropped to her side as she waited for his reaction, bracing herself for the worst. She couldn't blame him if he didn't want anything more to do with her after this revelation; she wouldn't fault him for it either. But deep down, she hoped... no, she prayed that he would find a way to forgive her. Somehow.
"I am so sorry," she whispered hoarsely. "I never meant for any of this to happen."
"Me finding out or doing it in the first place becouse doing it 'too many' times seems like somthing you meant to happen."
Tears streamed down her face as she listened to his words. Part of her wanted to lash out in anger and defensiveness, but she knew he was hurting just as much as she was. She took a deep breath before responding softly, "You're right. I should have been stronger, more loyal... everything you deserve. But please, Richard, don't give up on us. I can change; I promise."
She stepped closer to him, her eyes pleading for understanding and forgiveness. "I love you so much, and I want things to go back to the way they were before... when we were happy together," she whispered, reaching out a trembling hand to touch his cheek gently.
(I just stare at her.) "Same guy each time or multible?"
"The same one," she confessed, looking away shamefully. "I know it's no excuse, but... we were in such a bad place, and he... made me feel wanted. I was stupid, so incredibly stupid." She took another shaky breath before meeting his gaze again, her eyes filled with desperation and hope. "Please, Richard, don't give up on us. I can change; I swear I will."
Her fingers tightened around his shirt as if she was afraid he would push her away. "I love you," she repeated, her voice barely audible over the sound of their ragged breaths. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right between us."
"Who is he?"
Her eyes widened in surprise at his question. She hadn't expected him to ask who the other man was; most people would have assumed it was none of their business. But for some reason, she knew Richard wanted to know. "It... it doesn't matter," she stammered, her cheeks flushing red with shame. "He's just someone I used to know from college."
Taking a deep breath, she tried to compose herself before continuing. "I should have never let him get so close to me again... but the lonliness and desperation..." Her voice trailed off as tears began streaming down her face once more.
"Please, believe me when I say I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I will do anything you ask, anything to make things right." She paused for a moment before reaching up to wipe the tears from his cheeks, pray
"From college....was that Kevin?"
"Y-yes," she confessed softly, her voice barely audible above the pounding of her heart. "It was Kevin. But it doesn't matter now." She paused for a moment, searching Richard's eyes for some sign of forgiveness or understanding before continuing. "We were so close in college... and then we drifted apart after graduation. When I met you, I forgot about him... until he reappeared recently."
Her hand trembled as she reached up to touch his cheek gently, her eyes pleading for mercy. "I'm sorry," she whispered again. "So very, very sorry."
(I grab my phone and call someone.) "Hey its me Richard...yeah, so heads up your husband and the father of your three kids has been fucking my wife in her words 'too many' times to keep count, so deal with him when he gets home....Sorry to bring this on you Rebecca." (I hang up and i kept staring into Athenas eyes as i called Kevins wife and told her what has happend.)
Her heart plummeted as she listened to Richard's phone call. She knew Kevin wouldn't take the news lightly; he'd been hurt and angry when they'd stopped talking after college, and their recent reunion hadn't done much to improve things. "Please," she whispered to Richard, her voice shaking with fear. "Don't involve him any more than you already have. It'll only make things worse."
Tears streamed down her face as she waited for his response. Part of her wanted to beg and plead with him, but another part knew that it was too late for that. She had to face the consequences of her actions, no matter how much pain it might cause.
"NO fuck him, He is the one with a loving wife and three kids and he is running around fucking other peoples wifes."
"I know," she managed to choke out between sobs. "But involving him won't fix anything. Please don't let this tear us apart." She reached up to grab his arm, her fingers digging into his skin as if she was clinging onto a lifeline. "We can work through this; I promise."
Her heart ached at the thought of losing him too, but she knew that the path ahead wouldn't be easy. She had to convince Richard that their love was worth saving, and she had to prove it with her actions.
"Can we....for what reason though...right now im not sure i want to."
Her heart raced as she waited for his answer. "Because we love each other," she said softly, her voice shaking with emotion. "And even though what I've done has hurt you and our marriage, I want to make things right. I want us to be happy again." She wiped the tears from her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to steady her voice. "I know it's going to take time, but if you give me that chance... if you let me prove myself to you..." Her voice trailed off, hope flickering in her eyes like a fragile flame.
"Do we love each other anymore? Becouse the last couple of months i have felt like we have been drifting apart more and more....maybe thats becouse you were getting plowed by Kevin over and over."
Her heart skipped a beat at his words. Was it possible that they really didn't love each other anymore? It seemed impossible, despite all the pain and hurt she'd caused. "I don't know," she admitted softly, feeling a tear slip down her cheek. "But I do know that I never meant for this to happen. I wanted us to be happy together, just like we used to."
She looked up at him pleadingly, wishing she could find the right words to make him understand. "Please, Richard," she whispered. "Don't give up on us just yet. Let me prove that we can still have a loving marriage." She reached out a shaking hand and cupped his cheek gently, her touch feeling almost tentative despite the desperation in her eyes.
"I love you," she murmured, her voice raw with emotion. "Please don'
"Maybe i should just go over to Rebecca and see if she is willing to have a faithful relationship with me becouse we are the only two people that are faithful here."
Her heart shattered into a million pieces at his words. He was serious; he was considering leaving her for another woman. Tears streamed down her face as she tried to find the strength to say something, anything that might make him change his mind. "Don't do this," she whispered hoarsely, grasping at straws. "Please don't give up on us." She closed her eyes, willing him to understand the desperation in her voice, in her heart. But even as she spoke, she knew it was already too late.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TOO DO THEN ATHENA?"
She opened her eyes, meeting his gaze with an intensity that made her heart ache. "Prove to me that you still love me," she whispered, her voice breaking. "Don't just walk away because I messed up." Her fingers tightened around his cheek, her grip fierce and desperate. "Give us another chance; prove that we can make things work."
Tears continued to fall down her face as she waited for his response. She knew he had every right to be angry with her, but a small part of her hoped that maybe, just maybe, they could still find their way back to each other.
"ITS NOT LIKE YOU MESSED UP JUST ONCE ATHENA...." (I cover my face with my hands as i wipe the tears from my eyes.) "If i did not catch you in the act today, a week from now you would still be fucking him...."
The realization that he was right hit her like a brick wall. She hadn't even stopped until she'd been caught. The shame and guilt she felt were almost too much to bear; it made the tears flow even faster down her cheeks. "I know," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of her sobs. "And I am so sorry for that. I let my desperation take over, and I didn't think about how much pain it would cause you."
She looked up at him with eyes filled with anguish, searching his face for any glimmer of forgiveness or understanding. "Please don't give up on us," she pleaded, her voice raw from the endless sobbing. "I promise I will never do anything like that again. I love you, Richard; more than anything in this world."
Her fingers trembled as they reached up to gently
"To me it seems like you love cock more then me though." (I slam my fist into the countertop before walking off and going upstairs to the bedroom.)
Her heart shattered at his words as she fell silent, wracked with sobs that racked her body and left her chest aching and raw. He was right; the pain she'd caused went deeper than just hurting him or ruining their marriage. It had wounded the core of their love, and it might take more than just promises to fix it.
As she stood there alone in the kitchen, tears streaming down her face, Athena knew that she would have to do whatever it took to prove herself to Richard. She wanted nothing more than for them to be together, but she understood if he didn't feel the same way anymore. The guilt and shame threatened to consume her as she let out one final sob before finally straightening up, wiping her eyes and starting to clean up the mess she had created.
Perhaps, she thought as she picked up the groceries and put them away, if she could
(Almost an hour goes by before i walk down the stairs again.)
Her heart raced as she heard you coming downstairs. The silence had been deafening since you'd left the kitchen, and she was both relieved and anxious to see your face again. She took a deep breath and wiped away her tears before stepping out of the kitchen, hoping against hope that you would give her another chance to explain herself, to prove her love for you was real.
"I called your parents and told them that you will have to stay with them a couple of days." (I let out a sigh before continuing.) "I did not tell them what happend, you can do that if you want....and I have not made up my mind on what will happen after this yet."
Her eyes widened in surprise at your words. She hadn't expected you to call her parents or to decide their future so abruptly. But she knew it was probably the best thing for both of them, and she couldn't help but feel guilty for putting them through this. As she waited for you to continue speaking, she clenched her hands into fists at her sides, willing herself not to break down again.
"I understand," she managed to choke out, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart. "Thank you for doing that." She glanced away for a moment, searching for something else to say before looking back at you with pleading eyes. "Please don't give up on us just yet. I promise I can make this right."
"Im not the one giving up on anyone in this relationship...." (I say as i look over at her with a stern look.)
Tears welled up in her eyes again as she heard your words. "You're right," she whispered, her voice hoarse from crying. "I should have been stronger... for both of us." She took a deep breath before continuing. "I know I can make this better; I just need you to give me the chance. Please don't shut me out completely, Richard. I love you more than anything."
Her heart raced as she waited for your response. Please say something; please believe her. She stood there, tears streaming down her face, praying that she hadn't lost everything she held dear in one fateful moment of weakness.
