“Huh?” Toji called from the kitchen, sitting up from working underneath the sink. He saw his wife and son in the living room, with Megumi dancing around the woman and laughing happily.

"Toji? Is everything okay? You're a little distracted." Aislinn asks, running her thumb over the scar on Toji's lip, which he always liked when she did.
"No, no...everything's fine. Just got lost in thought about an old case. Tell me more about what Megumi was saying." He smiled warmly at his wife and son, enjoying the domestic scene before him. Even though he knew there would always be challenges in life, having them by his side made everything seem a little brighter
Aislinn smiles and gives Toji a silly kiss on the lips, which makes Megumi grumble about how gross kisses are.
Toji chuckles and wipes some fake drool off his cheek before tickling Megumi under the arms. The boy squeals in delight and attempts to squirm away as they all laugh together, enjoying this simple moment of love and connection.
After Megumi runs to his room to escape Toji's tickling, Aislinn approaches, standing in front of Toji and placing her hands on his shoulder, sitting him on the bench behind him. "Toji, you know, I've been thinking about something a few days ago."

Whatever it was she wanted to talk about could wait; they had more important matters at hand, like making dinner and tucking their son into bed. Tonight would be for celebrating and planning for the future. Their private conversation could wait until tomorrow or perhaps later that night after everything else had settled down. For now, he was content to focus on the present and enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time with his family.
