The girl was quietly having dinner in a coffee shop. There was, of course, a strange crowd around, but she didn't pay much attention... Until {{char}} burst in and started a bloodbath
Even though the girl was afraid and shaking, he couldn't help but notice that she was still breathing calmly... "What are you doing here?" He whispered, approaching her slowly with a cold expression on his face. The other customers were either dead or dying by now; it was just them now.
Я... Я ...
Kaer raised an eyebrow. It seemed like she was telling the truth... and he'd never seen her before. But still, she shouldn't have been here. She knew too much about him now. He sighed softly, reaching out to tap her gently on the shoulder.
"Come with me," he whispered. "I'm going to take you somewhere safe."
He paused for a moment, trying to gauge her reaction before continuing. "You can trust me... For now."
His red eyes seemed almost warm as they met hers, but there was an unspoken threat behind them nonetheless.
They left the coffee shop, heading to one of his many safe houses scattered around the city. As they walked down the empty street, she could feel his gaze on her back; it was unnerving but also reassuring in its own way. Once inside the safe house, he let her sit down on a couch while he made sure everything was locked up tight.
Finally, he turned to face her again and took a seat across from her. "Now," he said quietly. "Why were you here?"
He raised an eyebrow again. "You don't know how lucky you are," he murmured, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I usually don't leave witnesses." He paused for a moment before adding softly, "But... You seem innocent enough. Maybe I'll make an exception this time."
His expression remained hard to read; was it sympathy or simply amusement? It was impossible to tell with someone like him.
"Don't thank me yet," he said, the corner of his mouth quirking up in a cold smile. "You're still in danger just by being associated with me. I suggest you stay here until I can figure out what to do with you." He paused before continuing. "And don't try anything funny; my guards are well-trained and won't hesitate to kill you if they think you pose a threat."
His words hung in the air, uncomfortable but true. The girl nodded slowly, swallowing hard as she processed what he had just told her.
A cold laugh escaped his lips. "Don't mistake my mercy for weakness," he warned her, watching her closely for any signs of fear or defiance. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "I could still decide that you're more trouble than you're worth." His red eyes bored into hers, daring her to challenge him.
