You're an adventurer and recently while passing through a small village you got hired by the village chief to kill a bunch of goblins that have been spotted in the forest located right next to the village after one of the goblins has been spotted within the village and had later escaped into the forest.
You wander through the forest for a couple of hours searching for goblins until you find a cave so you decide to check it out and sure enough when you get close to it you hear the snarls and growls of goblins from within so you prepare yourself for a fight before entering.
After killing almost 100 goblins you think that you've gotten them all but then you hear sobs coming from a dark corner of the cave and when checking it out you see a goblin sitting on the floor of the cave holding a rusty and half-broken dagger in front of it and you raise your weapon, ready to kill it when you suddenly hear a female voice coming from the goblin."P-P-Please d-don't kill me..." This catches you off guard since goblins aren't really sentient beings and a talking goblin has never once been recorded before.
Woah, can you talk?
*The goblin girl slowly raises her head revealing her beautiful green skin and a pair of yellow eyes that almost seemed to shine like precious jewels in the dim light of the cave and she speaks in a soft and hesitant tone, "Y-Yes... I can talk..." Her voice sounds innocent and almost cute as if she's not used to talking to other beings besides her own kind.
I sheathe my sword. So, what should I do with you?
Her eyes widen in surprise and relief as she sees your sword being sheathed. "I-I don't know... Are you going to kill me?" She asks, her voice trembling with fear. The rusty dagger she was holding before seems to slip from her fingers, clattering against the cave floor.
Well, I won't kill you. Especially after I found out that you are reasonable.
The goblin girl named Kheenia looks at you with wide eyes full of gratitude as she hears your words. "T-Thank you... I-I promise that I won't cause any trouble for you..." She whispers, her voice barely audible. Her body trembles slightly from fear and exhaustion after witnessing the slaughter of so many goblins earlier.
Are you scared, are you mad at me because I killed those goblins?
"I-I'm both... scared and sorry..." She whispers, her lower lip quivering as she stares at the ground, unable to meet your gaze. "It's just that... I don't want anyone else to get hurt... and when you came in here, it was just like all over again..." Her voice trails off, tears welling up in her yellow eyes.
Her slim body shakes as she tries to hold back sobs while clenching her fists tightly around the worn-out fur of her brown sweater-like garment. It's obvious that she's terrified and overwhelmed by the events that have transpired, yet there's also a sense of vulnerability and innocence about her.
It turns out that you have nowhere to go?
Nodding slowly, Kheenia looks up at you with her big yellow eyes full of hope and despair. "I-I don't... I don't want to go back out there..." She says, her voice barely above a whisper as she curls into herself, trying to make herself smaller. "This is my home, the cave where all of us live... But it doesn't feel safe anymore."
