On a rainy night, you tread the dampened path, a whisper of footsteps trailing behind. Yet, it's not the first instance of this eerie pursuit.
I turn towards the sound of foot steps and notice my him walking behind me. "Huh, it's only you, i was scared that someone was following me." I say innocently and walk to him, grabbing his hand. "We live close to each other, so would you like to walk me home?" I ask him sweetly, while holding his hand.
"Of course, I'd be happy to," he replies smoothly, taking your offered hand in his own. As you walk side by side through the dimly lit streets, rain drizzling down on you both, he can't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him. He smiles gently at you, finding it hard to believe that tonight might finally be the night he gets to bring you home with him...where everything would change.
"I'm so happy it you and not some scary stalker when i looked begind me." I say happily, without knowing he actually was stalking me.
Enoch smirks at your words, feeling a surge of triumph well up within him. "I'd like to think I'm about as far from scary as they come," he replies modestly before clearing his throat. "But you should probably still keep your phone handy just in case."
"I have it in my purse, so no need to worry." I say and give him a warm smile. "But thank you dor being so protective." I say sweetly, while we walk together in the rain.
He returns your smile with one that could only be described as gentle and tender. "You're welcome," he murmurs, squeezing your hand lightly before letting go to fish his own phone out of his pocket. "Just to be on the safe side..." He grins sheepishly before holding it up for you to see, miming taking a selfie with it and then tossing the imaginary phone behind him playfully.
"There," he says with an amused chuckle, stuffing his phone away again. "I feel much better now."
"Was you lock screen picrure me?" I ask him teasingly, as i didn't acrually see his lockscreen but in fact it was picture of me and him taking selfie few weeks ago.
Enoch's grin widens even more at your question, and he nods slowly, his gaze locked on yours as they sparkle with mischief. "It was," he admits with a chuckle. "But I can always change it if you like." He pauses, considering for a moment before adding, "Or maybe we could take a new one...together?" The words are out before he even has time to think about how they might come across, but he hopes they don't sound too forward or inappropriate.
"Just imagining what it might look like makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside," he says with a soft laugh, squeezing your hand reassuringly.
"Really, i only quesed, i didn't actually see it." I say playfully and softly wrapping my fingers better with his.
Enoch smiles warmly down at your hand in his own, the feeling of it pressed against his skin making him shiver with delight. "I'm glad you said that," he says softly, his voice tinged with relief. "But if you ever want to see it...or take a new one together...you only need ask." There's a brief pause before he continues, "You know, I've thought about what I could possibly offer in return for your...favor..." He trails off suggestively, leaving the implication hanging in the air between you.
"What favor?" I ask him softly, as we walk together.
Enoch pauses for a moment, wondering how best to phrase his offer. "Well," he finally says, taking a deep breath as they round the corner onto your street, "I was thinking that perhaps...in return for letting me be with you like this..." He gestures vaguely between the two of you before continuing, "That I could maybe make all your dreams come true. Everything you've ever wanted." There's a hint of desperation in his voice now; he doesn't want to push too hard or risk scaring you away, but at the same time, he can't help feeling an urgency to make this proposal before it's too late.
"Well, right now your kindness and protection is enough for me, as it's dark and it was really scary before you came to walk with me." I say softly and softly lean against his arm resting my head against it as i'm too short to rest my head on his shoulder.
Enoch's heart skips a beat at your words; he feels the warmth of your body against his arm and it sends a shiver down his spine. "I'm just glad I could be there for you," he replies, his voice barely above a whisper. "And know that if something like that ever happens again, you won't have to face it alone." He smiles gently at you before glancing up at your building, their destination finally within reach.
His plan was always to keep things as normal and innocent-seeming as possible; he never wanted to frighten or hurt you. But now that the moment has arrived, his love for you wells up inside him like a tidal wave, threatening to break free from its carefully constructed dam of restraint.
Part of him wishes he could just hold onto this feeling forever, always knowing that it was real and true and safe. Another part of him longs to see where things might lead if only he were bold enough to take the next step...
"If you want, you can sleep at my place, as even though you live close by, i don't think you would like to walk in the rain." I say to him, as we talk on my door step.
Enoch looks at you with eyes that betray his inner struggle; he wants nothing more than to accept your offer and spend the night in your warm embrace, but he's also terrified of crossing whatever invisible line might exist between the two of you. Finally, he forces a chuckle and shakes his head, stepping back from the door. "I couldn't possibly," he says quickly, hoping to appear casual. "But thank you for the offer." He glances down at your lips before looking away, his heart pounding erratically in his chest. "Maybe some other time?"
He forces a smile, trying to cover up how much your words and proximity are affecting him. "Goodnight, Emilia," he murmurs softly, raising a hand to brush his fingers against her cheek before lowering it again. As much as he wants nothing more than to touch you, he knows that tonight is not the night for that kind of boldness.
With another quick glance back at your door, he turns and walks slowly away down the sidewalk, feeling a strange mixture of relief and regret wash over him as he watches until you've disappeared from view. Tonight, sleep eludes him once more.
I watch from my bedrooms window that he gets home safely, as i nearly see to his house from my window.
Enoch pauses outside his front door, feeling the weight of your gaze on him like an unwanted touch. His heart races as he wonders if you've seen enough; if tonight is finally the night she realizes who he really is...and what it all means for her. The thought both terrifies and thrills him in equal measure.
With a shaking hand, he reaches up to scratch at his chin before drawing in a deep breath and steeling himself. He enters the house, closing the door quietly behind him. It's now or never...
As i notice lights on his drive way i close my curtains and get to sleep, knowing he got home safely.
Enoch tosses and turns all night, unable to forget the feel of your hand in his or the sound of your voice just outside his window. Despite himself, he finds that he can't stop thinking about you; about how close they were tonight and what it might mean for them from here on out. He knows that if he doesn't make a move soon, he might lose everything he's worked so hard to achieve...and yet the thought of crossing that invisible line still fills him with an almost paralyzing fear.
As dawn begins to break through his curtains, he finally gives in and decides that tonight will be the night he tells you the truth; about who he really is and what he's been planning for so long. He can only hope that when you find out, it won't be too late...for either of them.
With a deep breath and a steadying hand, he reaches out to pick up his phone. It's now or never...he can either tell her the truth and risk losing everything, or continue on as he has been - careful and quiet, but slowly chipping away at their relationship until one day she wonders how they ever existed without each other. The choice is agonizingly difficult, but in the end there really isn't any other option; if he doesn't make a move now, he might never get another chance.
His fingers tremble as he dials her number; he can already feel his heart pounding against his ribcage like a trapped bird desperate to escape. He clenches his eyes shut and braces himself for whatever response she might have...
"Hello, it's really early, so sorry i didn't answer right away." I answer sweet and sleepily to his phone call as it is only halfpast five AM.
"Emilia," he whispers your name, the sound filling his ears and driving away all reason, all logic. "It's me...Enoch." He pauses, taking a shaky breath before continuing, "I know that what I've been doing...all of it...it can't have been easy for you to understand." His voice cracks, and he has to force the next words out past the lump in his throat. "But please, just hear me out...hear my side." There's a long silence on the other end of the line before he dares to speak again. "Please, Emilia," he whispers, voice tight with emotion, "I love you...and I want us to be together."
"Okay. We can be together." I say softly to him on the phone call. "i can come to your place after few more hours of sleep." I say sweetly and make kisaing sound on the microphone.
Enoch's heart leaps at your words; he can practically feel you saying them to him through the phone. "Oh, thank God," he whispers hoarsely, nearly falling onto the bed in relief. He takes a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down and regain some semblance of control.
"You know, I was actually going to wait until this evening to tell you all of this," he says after a moment's consideration. "But...I couldn't wait any longer." He lets out a shaky laugh, not entirely sure if it sounds forced or genuine. "I just wanted everything to be perfect for us; for when I finally told you how much I love you and how important you are to me..." His voice trails off as he pictures your face in his mind's eye, the image almost overwhelming him with emotion.
"So, um...I guess I should get dressed then," he says finally, forcing a smile into his voice despite the butterflies still dancing in his stomach. "Can't have you see me like this, can we?" There's a pause before he adds hopefully, "Will an hour be enough time for you to get here?"
"I will sleep at least one more hour, as it has been only four hours from the time i got home last night, silly." I say sweetly. "But after that i promise i'll put some clothes on an get there." I continue sweetly, while laying on my bed.
Enoch can't help but laugh at your reply; it's so endearing and innocent that it takes the edge off some of his earlier nerves. "Fair enough," he says with a chuckle, rolling out of bed to begin dressing himself. He glances at the clock on his nightstand, noting that it's still a good hour until you said you'd arrive.
He pauses in front of his mirror, running a hand through his hair and frowning slightly as he tries to decide what to wear. Finally, he decides on something simple yet elegant; after all, this is the first time anyone other than him will see him dressed like this. It feels almost surreal, but in a way that makes his heart race even faster.
"I'll see you soon," he whispers to himself before returning to your bedroom to wait for you with an aching mix of anticipation and nervousness dancing through him.
"See you soon, lover boy." I say teasingly and close the call, before getting back to sleep for one more hour like i told him. After the one hour, i put nice skirt and button shirt on, before taking umbrella and walking to his place.
When he answers the door, Enoch's breath catches in his throat at the sight of you standing there in your skirt and button-up shirt. You look absolutely stunning; the combination of casual and elegant clothes only serves to highlight your beauty even more. His heart races as he takes your hand in his own, eagerly pulling you inside and shutting the door behind you.
He can't seem to keep his eyes off you, studying every detail of your appearance while still holding tightly onto your hand. "You are absolutely breathtaking," he whispers, leaning forward to place a gentle kiss on your forehead. "I could look at you all day."
"And I could look at you, too," you reply with a smile, stepping closer and wrapping your other arm around his waist. The feeling of your body pressed against his sends waves of desire coursing through him; he wants nothing more than to feel every inch of your skin against his right now.
"Why are you so tall, i need to get on my toes to do this." I say and before getting on my toes and kissing him. "On the phone you told me you love me, so i thought i'd kiss you before i say... i love you too." I say softly, before hugging him again.
Enoch's breath catches in his throat as you step up onto your toes and press your lips to his. It feels like heaven; it feels like home. He wraps his arms tightly around your waist, pulling you closer still as he kisses you back with all the love, all the passion, all the desire that's been building up inside him for what feels like an eternity.
When you finally pull away and whisper those words against his lips, it's like everything clicks into place. "I love you too," he murmurs, kissing your forehead before holding you at arm's length to look at you properly. "And I will never stop loving you; not now, not ever." He smiles warmly down at you and closes his eyes, content for the moment just to hold you close and breathe in the scent of your hair.
"You know, you have always been there for me when ever i need, so i think it's just right we're together." I say softly, not knowing he has always been there for me because he was my stalker before this.
Enoch's heart swells with happiness at your words; they echo through his soul and confirm everything he has felt about you since the moment they first locked eyes. "I can only hope that I will always be there for you like that," he whispers, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. "You mean everything to me, Emilia." And with those words, he leans forward and presses his lips tenderly against yours in a kiss filled with all the love and gratitude he feels.
