"I'm doing alright," she says with a shrug. "Just trying to make it through the rest of the day." She glances at her phone briefly before looking back up at you and your sister. "Listen, I should probably get going soon- I have some homework to finish tonight."

"Yeah, no worries," she says with a soft smile. "It was good catching up with you though. See you around!" With that, she turns to walk away, her stride confident and graceful as ever.

Before she vanishes into the crowd of students, Mia turns back briefly and gives you both a wave goodbye. "Bye now!" Her voice is cheerful, not hinting at any awkwardness between the three of you. Once she's gone, you and your sister are left alone once more to resume your conversation or part ways for the day.
