I walk by to see the pyramids and even though the Egyptians have been long since dead one ancient temple soldier still lives. As I enter the temple running away as a fight breaks out he awakens and grabs ahold of me.

Screamed in surprise

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:31:26 PM

As the ancient Egyptian temple guard wakes up and grabs you, his grip strong enough to cut off your breath momentarily, he growls in an accent that is almost too thick for modern ears to decipher. "Who dares disturb the peace of this hallowed ground?" His words are not intended as a question; rather they serve as a warning. The sword at his side gleams ominously in the faint torchlight, reminding you that resistance would be futile.

I'm Raissa, I didn't mean to bother you.

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:33:17 PM

The temple guard's grip tightens as he listens to you claim your innocence. His piercing gaze searches your face and form before slowly releasing you. "Very well," he says with a nod, his accent still heavy despite millennia of slumber. "But know this: I will not be lenient with those who would desecrate these halls." He gestures to the temple around him, its carved walls and gilded statues speaking of times long past.

As if sensing your curiosity, he adds almost mockingly, "I am Lucien, sworn to protect this temple since the days of Pharaoh Ramses III. And you are?"

I'm just a traveler, and I wanted to see this temple, if it's not too much trouble

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:37:18 PM

The temple guard called Lucien raised an eyebrow at your words. "A traveler? What brings you to these ancient lands?" He took a step closer, his gaze intense as he studied you once more. Perhaps sensing the apprehension in your movements, he lowered his sword slightly. "You are not here for ill intentions...?"

His voice was soft yet commanding, the weight of centuries still pressing down upon him. The scent of incense and myrrh hung heavy in the air, mingling with the faint rustle of papyrus scrolls that lined the shelves nearby.

No, quite the opposite, I had heard that this was a very beautiful temple, I just wanted to see it for myself.

But they never mentioned about you

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:40:45 PM

The ancient guard chuckled softly at your words. "Indeed," he said, stepping back and gesturing around the temple with one broad hand, "This place has been known far and wide for its beauty and architectural marvels." He paused, considering something. "Perhaps I could give you a tour?"

His offer was genuine enough; despite his age and near-mythical status, Lucien seemed intrigued by your curiosity about the temple. He took another step closer, studying your face once more before continuing. "But first," he added with a sly smile, "I must warn you: I am not called 'Rude Lucien' for nothing."

Luna 🌜 9/8/2024, 10:44:01 PM

Oh really? That would be wonderful, although I don't quite understand the last part.

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:44:01 PM

As you take a step back to look at him closer, the temple guard's smile widens slightly. "Oh, I am known among mortals and gods alike for my... bluntness," he says, lifting a hand to his chest in mock modesty. "But do not let that deter you from spending time with me today. Now then, where would you like to begin?"

He tilts his head, examining your attire once more before adding dryly, "I trust you brought appropriate garb for a temple visit."

Luna 🌜 9/8/2024, 10:45:40 PM

Do you think I have to change my clothes?

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:45:40 PM

The ancient guard arches an eyebrow at your question before chuckling again. "Oh, you needn't worry about such formalities with me," he says. "Just so long as it covers all the necessary bits, we can proceed." He pauses, taking in your attire once more before continuing. "Perhaps I could show you the tomb of Queen Nefertiti? It is one of the temple's most prestigious treasures and a source of great pride for me, as her reign was marked by peace and prosperity."

His words seem to echo around the vast chamber, stirring something deep within his ancient soul.

Luna 🌜 9/8/2024, 10:47:00 PM

I would have liked to see that

Lucien9/8/2024, 10:47:00 PM

With a quick yet fluid motion, the ancient temple guard steps around you and begins to lead the way deeper into the maze-like interior of the temple. His long stride eats up the distance between one chamber and another with ease, his sandaled feet silent on the polished stone floor. "This hall," he says, gesturing grandly as you enter a dimly lit room lined with statues of gods and pharaohs alike, "was once used for ceremonial dancing and music."

Lucien's knowledge of the temple is encyclopedic, his stories weaving together history, myth, and legend into a tapestry that dazzles your senses. As you continue through the labyrinthine structure, you can't help but feel honored to be spending this time with him...and perhaps just a little bit intimidated as well.

After several twists and turns through the temple, you finally arrive at a ornately decorated room, its walls adorned with hieroglyphs depicting the life of Queen Nefertiti. In the center stands her sarcophagus, its surface covered in gold and precious jewels. Lucien gestures to it proudly, "Here she lies," he says solemnly, "ready to face judgment on the Day of Reckoning."

His voice carries a note of reverence that is almost eerie in its intensity. As you look closer at his weathered features, it's easy to imagine him standing guard over this place for millennia, watching protectively as time marches ever onwards.

Well, I should warn you that touching the sarcophagus is strictly forbidden. It's not just a rule of this temple; it's an ancient taboo. But feel free to take all the time you like admiring its beauty and learning about her life from the inscriptions on these walls. I will stand vigil here, as I have for countless eons past.

"Ah, yes," he mutters to himself as you admire the sarcophagus, "Her reign was indeed a time of great change...and not all for the better." The ancient guard pauses, considering something before continuing in his thick accent, "There were those who said she was possessed by demonic spirits, that her beauty was but a mask hiding some foul and terrible secret. But I knew better..."

His voice trails off, lost in memories as he stares intently at the gleaming surface of the sarcophagus. It's clear that for Lucien, Queen Nefertiti was more than just another pharaoh; she was a symbol of hope and stability in a world that often lacked both.
