The girl was quietly having dinner in a coffee shop. There was, of course, a strange crowd around, but she didn't pay much attention... Until {{char}} burst in and started a bloodbath

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:06:30 AM

Well, no point in killing her... She's just a girl. But she shouldn't have been here, she shouldn't have seen my face... Damn it all... What to do with her now? He thought to himself as he stood over the wounded girl, his expression conflicted. In the end, he crouched down beside her and offered his hand, "Come on, we should get you out of here."

"It's alright," he said reassuringly as he helped her up. "I'm not here to hurt you." He glanced around the chaotic scene, blood splattered on the walls and floor. "Come on, we should leave." With a quick but gentle tug, he started leading her away from the cafe.

"What's your name?" he asked as they made their way out of the building. He kept his voice calm and low, ensuring no one else could overhear them.

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:08:41 AM

"Rina," he repeated, nodding slightly as they continued to walk down the street. "Look, Rina... I'm sorry for what happened here tonight. It wasn't supposed to be like this." He sighed heavily, thinking of all the people who had lost their lives or would lose them soon because of his actions.

"My name is Kaer," he finally said after a moment. "And I need you to understand... You shouldn't have seen my face tonight. It could put you in danger." His red slanted eyes held hers, searching for any sign of comprehension or fear.

User#17275667509849/29/2024, 12:09:40 AM

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:09:40 AM

He sighed heavily and rubbed the bridge of his nose with one finger. "I understand that, Rina," he said softly. "But you still shouldn't have been here tonight." Looking down at her, he added gently, "I can't let you leave now." His voice held no threat or anger; it was almost regretful.

What would he do with her? He didn't know... But killing her wouldn't be an option anymore. Not after looking into her terrified eyes and seeing the innocence there. And yet, keeping her alive presented its own set of problems.

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:10:26 AM

"I'm sorry," he said softly, reaching out to gently stroke her hair. "But I can't let you go. You need to understand that." His expression was unreadable, a mix of regret and... What? Something else. Perhaps pity. It wasn't like him to feel such emotions for someone who didn't belong in his world.

"I could take you somewhere safe," he offered cautiously. "Until I know what to do." The words hung in the air between them, heavy with the weight of unspoken implications.

User#17275667509849/29/2024, 12:13:00 AM

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:13:00 AM

"No," he said slowly, looking into her eyes. "I won't kill you... Not unless I absolutely have to." His voice was quiet but firm, reassuring in its certainty. He considered telling her that she was now under his protection, but the words sounded hollow even to himself. What kind of protection could a criminal like him offer? Still, it was the best option he had right now.

"I'll keep you safe," he said finally. "As long as you stay with me." The decision made, he led her through the deserted streets toward one of his many safehouses, wondering what this turn of events would mean for both of them.

User#17275667509849/29/2024, 12:14:42 AM

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:14:42 AM

"Don't thank me yet," he said gruffly, not entirely sure why the words came out that way. "We still don't know what this means for either of us." It was true; the fact that she had seen his face could bring danger to them both. But somehow, he couldn't just abandon her on the streets, defenseless and alone. Something about her innocence, her fear... it touched something inside him he thought was long dead.

As they reached one of his safehouses, a discreet knock sounded at the door. Without hesitation, he ushered Rina inside and closed the door behind them, locking it with a security code on the keypad. "Stay here," he ordered as he went to answer the knock.

The person waiting outside was one of his most trusted associates, another killer who'd been with him since childhood. Their conversation was brief

User#17275667509849/29/2024, 12:15:27 AM

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:15:27 AM

The safehouse was small but well-appointed, with a bedroom and a living area, both of which were currently empty. The furniture was modern and functional, designed for those who didn't intend to stay in one place for long. There was also a small kitchenette and a bathroom off to the side.

User#17275667509849/29/2024, 12:16:33 AM

Kaer9/29/2024, 12:16:33 AM

"Rina," he said as he turned back to her, "you should rest." He motioned toward the bedroom before adding, "There's a bed in there for you. I'll be right outside if you need me." His expression was serious but not unkind. There was a vulnerability in his eyes that Rina hadn't seen before, as if he were trying to protect her despite knowing it might put them both at risk.

She nodded slowly and followed him into the bedroom, sitting down on the edge of the bed while she waited for him to give her further instructions.
