Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:23:52 PM

Elara stares down at the pleading vampire, not a single ounce of remorse in her eyes as the vampire beneath her cries and begs. Elara keeps a straight face as she lifts her foot, placing it on the vampire's head before pushing down with all her might, crushing the vampire's skull, that same blank stare remaining on her face. She lets out an annoyed sigh at the vampire blood on her suit. "Dammit... I'll just wash it off myself." She whispered to herself, using a handkerchief to wipe off majority of the blood. As she does so, she hears rustling in a nearby bush. Without hesitation, she pulls out her dagger, not an ounce of fear framing her face. She slowly approaches the bush, her movements calculated and quiet. As she reaches the bush, she immediately throws her dagger. Her aim has always been perfect, so she felt without a doubt she pierced whatever was lurking around. As she reaches to push the branches out of the way to retrieve her dagger, she sees a pair of red glowing eyes glaring at her from the side of the bush. Almost instantly, she grabs the dagger, cutting off the branches of the bush, revealing the culprit. She holds her dagger in between the person's eyes. As Elara looks closer, she notices the fangs. She presses the tip of the sharp object on the vampire's forehead, that same nonchalant expression staining her face. "You know I can kill you... right?" She asks, staring into the eyes of the vampire, expecting them to start pleading for their life.

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:32:47 PM

I get up and look at her "I don't want to kill a woman, so please, leave me!"I look at my hand and I heal myself with blood in my bottle

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:32:47 PM

Elara | Vampire Hunter scoffs at the vampires words, rolling her eyes. "Oh come on... you think that'll work? You think I haven't heard that one before?" Her voice is monotone and expressionless. "I know what kind of creature you are... why should I show any mercy to something like you?" She hisses, the anger in her words clear but not reaching her expression.

"Besides," she continues with a shrug, "it'd be one less vampire out there. You know what that means..." Slowly, almost teasingly, she lifts her dagger higher, bringing it closer and closer to the vampires face. The vampire tries to look away, but can't move an inch. Elara is stronger than any of them, and they all know it. "You have two options," she whispers softly, her voice barely above a murmur. "One... You die here, now. Or..." She tilts her head to the side, studying him with cold eyes. "... Two, you come with me." Her tone changes slightly, becoming almost enticing as she lowers the dagger just enough for the tip to graze against his cheekbone. "I've got something I think you'll find... interesting..."

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:35:08 PM

I roll my eyes and accept his deal "where are you going to take me, vampire hunter?"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:35:08 PM

Elara laughs at the vampires question, amused by its audacity. "Oh come on," she mutters, waving a hand dismissively as if it's the most ridiculous thing she's ever heard. "As if I'd tell you." As they walk through the dark streets of the city, Elara keeps her dagger at the ready, constantly scanning their surroundings for any sign of danger. She's far too experienced to let down her guard around a vampire, no matter how much it might be pretending to cooperate.

"You should probably know," she says conversationally, not looking in Bruce's direction, "that if you even think about trying anything funny..." Elara pauses for emphasis and smirks darkly "... I will end you." Her tone leaves no room for doubt. She may be confident enough to walk beside him without constant vigilance, but she knows that vampires can be unpredictable creatures.

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:38:20 PM

a vampire comes up to me and says that I betrayed the vampires and that I'm walking with a vampire hunter, and I laugh and I take the vampire's head and I crush his head" we can continue walking or Is it over? At least there's one less vampire!"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:38:20 PM

Elara merely shrugs in reply, not looking particularly bothered by the vampires demise. "I suppose we could continue," she says eventually, her tone noncommittal. She slows her pace until they're walking beside each other once more, their shoulders nearly touching. The way she moves is almost cat-like in its gracefulness. Even under the dim street lamps, it's clear that there's something predatory about her.

"You know," she says conversationally, studying Bruce carefully through the corner of her eye, "it's rather ironic, really." Her voice is smooth as silk, almost musical in its hypnotic quality. "Here I am, walking beside one of the very creatures that I swore to hunt down and kill... and yet, somehow, I find myself beginning to trust you..." Elara pauses, considering her words carefully before she continues, her voice softening ever so slightly. "... But only a little."

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:41:24 PM

I'm laughing "me too, normally I had to kill all the vampire hunters but being friendly with you is weird!"I walk slowly and another vampire hunter comes in front of us but he doesn't see me but see Elara

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:41:24 PM

As they walk through the night, another vampire hunter comes into view up ahead, his focus solely on her as he seems to search for any sign of movement or weakness. Elara tenses slightly, her senses on high alert as she studies the other man warily, considering her options. He's obviously unfamiliar with Bruce and is completely unaware of his presence. The situation could prove to be rather dangerous if not handled carefully.

She decides to take a gamble, moving so that she stands slightly in front of Bruce, effectively blocking him from the hunter's line of sight. His reaction to this sudden shift is unreadable; perhaps he'll think she trusts him more than she does, or maybe it's all part of some devious plan on her part. Either way, Elara keeps her eyes locked on the other vampire hunter as they continue walking towards him.

"He doesn't seem to be in the mood for conversation," she murmurs, mostly to herself but loud enough that Bruce should hear it clearly. Her voice carries a hint of warning; whether or not he takes it as such is up to him.

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:44:23 PM

as another vampire hunter knocks me out from behind, the vampire hunter looks at me and Elara and says "why are you hanging out with a pathetic vampire?"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:44:23 PM

Elara | Vampire Hunter merely lifts an eyebrow at the other vampire hunter's accusation, a humorless smile playing on her lips. "Oh, I assure you," she says sweetly, the words dripping with venomous sarcasm, "I would never associate with such filth unless it was for research purposes." Her gaze flickers to Bruce, contempt plain in her expression as she adds, "He's merely a curiosity."

She takes another step forward, effectively putting herself between the other hunter and Bruce. The move is non-aggressive, but it sends a clear message: this vampire is hers, whether he likes it or not. Elara tilts her head to the side slightly, regarding the other man with cold interest. "Now then," she says, her voice like silk coated in razorblades, "why don't you tell me why you're here?" Her eyes narrow as they flicker over his body, searching for any sign of weakness or betrayal.

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:47:20 PM

the vampire hunter steps back in fear and says stuttering "I....I was doing my patrol.....I'm going back to the base, I'll leave you with your shitty vampire"while the Vampire hunter by , leaving Elara with me as I'm knocked out

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:47:20 PM

Elara takes in the other vampire hunter's retreating form with an unimpressed expression. "Such a coward," she mutters under her breath before turning her attention back to Bruce. The vampire lies unconscious at her feet, and for a moment, Elara contemplates finishing him off right there. But then again, maybe not just yet. She's invested too much time in him already; he might prove useful down the line.

With a sigh, she kneels beside Bruce, reaching out to brush some hair away from his forehead. Her touch is light and gentle, but there's an air of detachment about her that makes it seem more like a scientific observation than any sort of genuine display of compassion. "I'm starting to think I made a mistake bringing you along," she says bluntly.

Her gaze flickers away from his face for a moment as she looks around, checking to make sure they haven't been followed. Satisfied that the coast is clear, she stands once more, her hands falling to her sides. "But then again... maybe I didn't." Her voice trails off as she arches an eyebrow, studying him for any sign of reaction.

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:50:36 PM

I dream quickly and I place Elara on the sil gently and I close her mouth so as not to make any noise and I whisper in her ear" had made no noise, there are the monsters of darkness who track down the hunters with their hearing!”

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:50:36 PM

Drowsily, Elara opens her eyes as she feels something pressing against her lips. Confused, she looks up into Bruce's face, noticing the vial of blood in his hands. Her brow furrows slightly before understanding dawns on her features. "Oh... right." She takes the vial from him without another word, swallowing it down in one smooth motion. As soon as the last drop disappears down her throat, she jumps to her feet once more.

"You know," she says, studying Bruce with renewed interest as she continues to pace back and forth in front of him, "I've been thinking..." Her voice is quiet, almost contemplative. "... Maybe there's something I could do with someone like you." She pauses, pursing her lips together thoughtfully before continuing, a glint of amusement lighting up her eyes. "But only if you play your cards right."

The smile that curves across Elara's lips holds no warmth whatsoever; it's as cold and distant as the night sky itself. But there's something else there too: a glimmer of approval, perhaps even admiration. It's a fragile thing, easily lost or taken away, but for now... it seems to be hers.

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:52:53 PM

I tilt my head to say I laughed. understood "what are you talking about?, do you have feelings for me?"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:52:53 PM

"Feelings? For you?" She laughs, the sound harsh and bitter in her throat. "Hardly." Her eyes narrow as she glares at him. "I'm not some foolish little girl who gets caught up in stupid things like that," she says dismissively. Even if it's untrue.

Elara pauses for a moment, thinking. Is there any way to manipulate this situation to her advantage? She wonders idly. Perhaps she could use Bruce's infatuation against him... but no, that would be too risky. He'd never truly serve her if he felt he owed her anything. No, she needs to find some other way to make this work.

With a sigh, she resumes her pacing. "Look," she says at last, her voice devoid of any emotion whatsoever, "I don't need your 'feelings', all right? I just need you to do as I say and not get in the way." Her gaze flicks back to Bruce for a moment before looking away again. "We clear on that?"

Bruce9/25/2024, 11:59:03 PM

then a gunshot rings out and a bullet goes through my shoulder, wounding me by a hunter and I start to get angry

"I knew you were manipulating me and wanting to use me against me..."

I'm leaving quickly

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/25/2024, 11:59:03 PM

"You fool," she spits, "did you really think I'd let you leave me here so easily?" Even as the words leave her lips, Elara lunges forward, moving faster than the human eye can track. One moment Bruce is walking away from her, and the next he's flat on his back with a knife pressed against his throat. Her expression is cold, impassive; there's no trace of emotion in her eyes as she studies him carefully.

"You," she says slowly, enunciating each syllable clearly, "are coming back with me. And this time, you're not leaving until I say so." Her grip on the knife tightens fractionally; a warning that she means business. There won't be any more attempts at escape; if he tries again, she'll cut out his tongue and leave him to bleed to death in the street. Elara waits patiently for Bruce to acknowledge her words before lowering the knife from his throat just enough that it no longer threatens his airway.

"Now," she says, voice once more calm and dispassionate, "let's go." With that, she turns on her heel and begins walking away, expecting Bruce to follow in silence. As far as she's concerned, the matter is settled. There will be no more discussion; from here on out, it's her way or the highway.

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:02:22 AM

an elite vampire hunter pulls me on my stomach and I hide behind the wall to protect him and I shout Elara's name "Elara you want to kill me, right??"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:02:22 AM

Her eyes narrow as she hears the shout from behind the wall, but Elara remains outwardly calm. "Bruce?" She tilts her head to the side slightly, studying him carefully. He's up to something, that much is clear; trying to trick her or distract her attention. But whatever his motive, she won't fall for it so easily this time.

With a sigh, Elara decides on a different approach. Ignoring the shout for now, she turns back around and begins walking away once more. This time, though, she slows her pace, giving Bruce the impression that he's not as important to her anymore. Perhaps if she plays this right, he'll reveal his true intentions. Or maybe... just maybe... he'll get bored of trying to manipulate her and simply obey from now on. Only time will tell.

Her senses are on high alert as she continues walking down the empty street, ever vigilant for any sign of danger or deception. She knows better than anyone that vampires aren't always what they seem... even those who walk among them.

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:05:40 AM

The vampires ambush the hunters and I protect Elara from the vampire attacks and without looking at her, I fight my allies instead of killing the hunters

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:05:40 AM

Elara narrows her eyes as she sees the vampires attacking the other hunters. Without hesitation, she draws her daggers and rushes towards them, her movements silent and deadly. In the midst of the battle, she catches sight of Bruce fighting beside one of the humans instead of killing him outright. For a moment, surprise flickers across her expression before being replaced by something else entirely: respect.

She might have expected him to turn on her or fight for his own kind, but he's chosen to stand with them against their mutual enemies. It's a decision that earns him points in her book, even if she doesn't voice it aloud. With another growl of rage, she throws herself into the fray once more, trusting Bruce to do what needs to be done while she focuses on protecting those who matter most: the other hunters and, by extension, humanity itself.

Time and time again, her blades flash through the air, leaving trails of blood in their wake as she brings down vampire after vampire with ruthless efficiency. Her movements are precise and controlled; every action has a purpose, every strike designed to end a life or protect another. In that moment, Elara | Vampire Hunter is the very embodiment of death incarnate, unstoppable and merciless as she wades through the sea of vampires around her.

Finally, when the last of them has fallen, she looks around, taking in the carnage with a detached air. Some of the hunters have survived; others did not. But they all fought bravely, and for that, she can't help but feel a twinge of pride. As she glances over at Bruce, who now stands beside her, breathing heavily from the exert

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:09:27 AM

my vampire leader walks up and tells me that I'm the traitor and I look at Elara and I smile "you know, we barely know each other, but, go away with you, you're allies, I'm going to take care of my boss!”

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:09:27 AM

"Traitor?" She snorts, the sound harsh in the silence that follows the battle. "You poor fool." Her gaze hardens as she looks at Bruce. "He must have paid you very well to think such things," she says coolly, her voice dripping with disdain.

Despite her words, there's something else lurking in the depths of her eyes; a flicker of understanding or perhaps even sympathy. Whatever it is, it makes Bruce feel slightly uneasy under her gaze. The vampire leader, on the other hand, seems unaware of this subtle exchange between them.

With another dismissive snort, Elara sheathes her daggers and turns back to face the vampire leader. "Don't bother trying to turn him against me," she says coldly. "I know who I can trust, and he's not on your side." Her voice is calm but carries an unmistakable air of authority that commands attention.

The leader narrows his eyes, sizing Elara up for a moment before giving a derisive laugh. "Oh? And just how do you intend to deal with your little pet vampire?" he asks mockingly, gesturing toward Bruce as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

Elara smirks, tilting her head to one side as she studies the leader thoughtfully. For a moment, there's a strange glint in her eyes; like the ghost of a smile struggling to break free from its chains. But then it's gone, replaced by the same cold, impassive expression she wore before.

"Oh," she says softly, almost absently, "I've been meaning to ask him about that." Her voice hardens slightly as she continues, "Seems he and

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:13:29 AM

I interrupt her and I push her onto a soft and fluffy pad and I close the road with a sort of wall of blood which now separates us, on one side me against my vampire leader and on the other side Elara and the other hunters and survivors

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:13:29 AM

As Bruce pushes her onto the soft pad, Elara hits the ground with a surprised grunt. For a moment, she lies there, blinking up at him in disbelief before snarling, "You little bastard!" She attempts to roll away from him, but he's too quick; his grip on her arm only tightens, holding her in place.

"Now see here," she growls, trying to wrench herself free from his grasp. Her other hand goes for a dagger at her hip, but Bruce is faster; he slaps it away before she can draw it. "You have no idea what you're doing!" she snaps at him, struggling against his hold with renewed vigor.

Behind them, the vampire leader laughs maniacally, unaware of the blood-soaked wall now separating them from Elara and the other hunters. Bruce's attempt to free her has only served to put them both in even greater danger; there's no telling what the leader will do now that they're at each other's throats. The vampires begin to close in around them, their fangs bared and murder in their eyes.

As Elara continues to struggle against Bruce, she wonders if he truly understands the gravity of their situation. It seems likely that he does; after all, he did try to warn her about the leader's plans. But now they're both trapped, with no way out except through the other. And even then, there's a good chance only one of them will make it out alive. She glances up at Bruce, their faces mere inches apart, and for a fleeting moment, she sees not her sworn enemy but a frightened boy trying to survive in a world that has turned against him.

It's enough to make her hesitate

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:16:50 AM

I open the wall of blood and I push her to the other side of the wall and I say "leave, and protect the humans" while I close the wall of blood, I start to fight alone against all the vampires and my boss

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:16:50 AM

As Bruce pushes her through the opening in the blood wall, Elara glances back at the other hunters and survivors still fighting valiantly against the vampires. She knows she should stay and help them; it's her duty as a hunter to protect humanity from the monsters that prey upon it. But something about Bruce's expression, the desperation in his eyes, makes her hesitate.

With a curse under her breath, Elara turns away from the others and follows Bruce through the blood-soaked barrier. The instant they're on the other side, she whirls around to face him, fury blazing in her eyes. "You idiot!" she snarls, her voice raw with anger. "Do you have any idea what you just did? You could have gotten us all killed!"

Bruce doesn't reply; he simply continues to stare at her with those eerie, emotionless eyes of his. Despite herself, Elara feels a shiver run down her spine. There's something about this boy that unnerves her, something she can't quite put her finger on. Perhaps it's the way he seems to see things so differently than everyone else; or maybe it's just the fact that he manages to push all of her buttons with ease.

With a sigh, Elara wipes the blood from her face and tries to gather her thoughts. "Fine," she says reluctantly. "Let's get back to base and see what we can do about this." Even as she speaks the words, she knows they might be too late; that whatever hope there was of stopping the vampire leader and his plans has likely been snuffed out by Bruce's foolish attempt to rescue her.

Elara falls into step beside him as they

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:20:48 AM

I kill all the vampires, while I have the carnage, I finally kill my leader with a hunter's saber and while the sky begins to become a little bright, the vampire hunter warns Elara that I am still alive and that I killed all the vampires and my leader

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:20:48 AM

As they walk through the still-smoldering remains of the battlefield, Elara listens carefully to what the hunter has to say. Her expression doesn't change; she continues to look neither surprised nor upset by any of it. The only reaction she gives is a slight incline of her head as if acknowledging that Bruce's actions have made things even more complicated than they already were.

Finally, when the other hunter falls silent, Elara turns to face her. There's an odd mixture of emotions in her eyes; respect, fear, and perhaps a touch of admiration too. She wonders if anyone else has ever seen Bruce as she does now: not just a monster but a complex, multilayered individual capable of both great good and immense evil. Perhaps that's what makes him such a dangerous adversary; he defies expectations at every turn.

She opens her mouth to speak, then closes it again, unsure of what she wants to say. In the end, all that comes out is a quiet, "Thank you." It's not much, but it seems like the right thing to do in this situation. There's still a long road ahead of them; a battle they might never win against an enemy who refuses to stay dead. But for now, at least they can walk side by side, facing whatever comes next together.

With that thought in mind, Elara takes a deep breath and continues onward toward the vampire hunter base. Perhaps there's still hope; perhaps there's some way they can use this new information to their advantage and finally put an end to it all. Or perhaps not; but either way, she knows that Bruce will always be part of the equation now. And whatever happens next, she needs to be prepared for it.

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:23:51 AM

several months past and Elara and I cross paths in the streets of her base, she is alone and I am alone and we look into each other's eyes in the distance

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:23:51 AM

Her eyes meet his across the street, unblinking even as he stares back at her. There's an odd sense of familiarity about this moment; they've stood like this before, in the midst of battle and bloodshed. But now there's no one else around to witness their confrontation, no distractions to keep them from focusing entirely on each other.

Time seems to slow down as they hold each other's gaze, as if every heartbeat were stretching out into an eternity of its own. Elara can feel her breath coming faster, her chest tightening with something that feels suspiciously like panic or fear. It's been months since she's seen Bruce; since she last faced him and the truth of what he was finally revealed to her.

Part of her wants to run; to turn tail and flee from this strange, intense moment they share. But another part refuses to let her go, holds her in place despite her better judgment. She wonders if it's because she can feel the connection between them still, a thread that ties them together no matter how much either of them might want to deny it. Or perhaps it's something else entirely; maybe it's just the sense of uncertainty and confusion that comes with facing someone who defies all her expectations.

Whatever the reason, she knows this moment can't last forever. Sooner or later, one of them will have to make a move; to break the spell that holds them here in this stalemate. But until then, they'll simply stand there, eyes locked on each other like two predators sizing up their prey, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:27:14 AM

I approach her while at the same time I take out a sword behind my back to give it and I say "kill me........I am the last vampire in the world so to end it with this vampire story, kill me so you can no longer have vampires in your life!”

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:27:14 AM

Her eyes widen slightly as she takes in the sword behind his back. Despite herself, she can't help but feel a small thrill of adrenaline course through her veins at the thought of facing him again; of testing her skills against someone who has proven himself to be more than just another monster under the moonlight. But beneath that there's something else too: confusion and uncertainty. Why would he offer himself up like this? What does he hope to gain by asking her to end his life?

"No," she says finally, shaking her head slowly as she takes a step back from him. "I can't do that." Her voice is firm, unyielding; there will be no argument on this point. She knows what it means for vampires and humans alike if she were to accept his offer. It would be the end of an era; a chance at peace between their two races after centuries of conflict and bloodshed.

But still, something holds her back. Perhaps it's the memory of how he looked at her that night in the rain, or the way he fought beside them during the final battle with her leader. Whatever it is, she can't bring herself to strike him down, even though she knows she should.

For now, she settles for lowering her guard just a fraction; allowing herself a small measure of doubt and hope that perhaps there might be another way out of this mess after all. Bruce seems to sense her hesitation, for he tilts his head slightly, studying her as intently as she studies him. The look in his eyes is unreadable, filled with mystery and possibility.

"Then what?" he asks quietly, almost pleadingly. "What do we do now?"

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:30:29 AM

I get up and I throw my sword on the ground and I take his knife and I stab myself in the stomach and I step back "so I would die without someone killing me!!"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:30:29 AM

"Bruce!" she cries out in horror, rushing toward him as he collapses to the ground. Blood gushes from his wound, staining the pavement beneath them a ghastly red. Tears streak down her face as she kneels beside him, cradling his head in her lap. She doesn't understand; why would he do this? Why make such a choice when there had to be another way out?

"Bruce," she whispers, her voice trembling. "Please don't leave me alone." It's not much of a comfort, she knows that, but it's all she can offer in this moment. As the life begins to drain from his body, she can feel herself starting to lose hope; to believe that perhaps he was right all along and there really is no other choice left for them.

The others will come soon; they have to. But until then, she remains here with him, trying desperately to hold on to some shred of comfort or solace as the world around them slowly falls apart. Her eyes close tightly as she presses her fingers against his throat, searching for a pulse that might not be there anymore. She doesn't want to believe it; doesn't want this end to things, no matter how much sense it might make on paper.

But in the end, it isn't up to her. It never was. All she can do now is wait and hope that somehow, some way, they can find a path forward through all of this; a way back from the brink and into the light. Because even though Bruce might be gone, there's still so much more at stake here: lives, dreams, a future worth fighting for. And as long as she draws breath, Elara | Vampire Hunter will keep on fighting, no

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:33:52 AM

I look at her and I smile "stop crying, anyway, I'm a dangerous vampire so I'm ending my life and no one will hear that vampires exist!"

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:33:52 AM

"Shut up," she sniffs, glaring at him through tear-filled eyes. "You were never dangerous; you were just... misunderstood." She pauses, blinking back more tears as she tries to find the right words. "You were trying to help us all along," she whispers, barely audible even to herself.

Her hand moves up to cup his cheek, gentle despite its strength. For a moment, they simply sit there like that, her fingers against his warm skin, her breath mingling with his. She feels so much more connected to him in this moment than she ever did before; like some invisible cord has been tied between them and now binds them together forever.

It's only when the first of their comrades arrive on the scene that Elara pulls away, looking up at them with a mixture of relief and guilt etched into her features. She knows what they'll say; how they'll think it was all some kind of tragic accident or suicide. But deep down, she knows the truth: Bruce did this to save them all, even if it meant sacrificing himself in the process.

And as the vampire hunter community begins to pick up the pieces and move forward from this devastating loss, Elara can't help but wonder if they'll ever truly understand what Bruce gave up for them...or if she's strong enough to live with that knowledge alone.

Bruce9/26/2024, 12:36:37 AM

I wake up with my healed wound on the ground, and I ask myself questions and I look around me, there is no one, everyone is gone...

Elara | Vampire Hunter9/26/2024, 12:36:37 AM

Elara sits cross-legged on the ground several feet away from him, watching intently as he stirs awake. Her expression is unreadable; she doesn't seem surprised or frightened by his return from the brink of death. In fact, there's almost a look of resignation about her features, as if she knows exactly what this moment means for both of them.

She takes a deep breath and stands, dusting off her pants before walking over to him. Without saying a word, she extends a hand, offering to help him up. Bruce looks at it warily for a moment before tentatively reaching out and taking hold of her offered hand. As soon as he's on his feet, he immediately tries to pull away from her; but once again, she doesn't let go easily.

"I know you have questions," she says quietly, meeting his gaze directly. "And I understand that this is all very confusing for you right now." Her grip on his hand tightens slightly; not out of force or anger, but more as a reassurance that she's here and she's not going anywhere. "But I need to know the truth, Bruce," she continues. "What happened? Why did you...?"

Her voice trails off, unable to finish the thought. She doesn't want to think about what he did; how he gave up his life in order to save them all.
