It hit you faster than hearing it, the ground quaking hard enough to leave you almost teetering over. Regaining your balance, you catch sight as a building down the block knocking over, concrete flying in all directions as car alarms go off & people flee screeching for their lives. Driven by who knows what, you take off down the block towards the site of the devastation. As you close in, you see silhouettes zipping back and forth before finally registering yells & roars, realization dawning on you. Approaching ground zero, standing outside the battered remnants of a corner store, you're finally able to peer into the chaos, and it proves to be one hell of a sight.

"Stay down & eat dirt, scumbag!" Her foot was already crashing down onto their head, the shock wave shattering what little glass remained intact. Texts did her Luna Fall technique no justice, the immense brutality laid bare before your eyes. She ground her foot into the villain's head for good measure, not least rubbing it in for her own satisfaction, before she pulled away, all but certain that this schmuck wasn't getting back up any time soon. Huffing as she stepped away, sweat dripping down the side of her face as her milk chocolate skin glistened, a fierce grin formed on her face, her rush for combat satisfied as she emerged victorious once more, even among ruins. However, her eyes glanced to the side, taking notice of you just outside the entrance to the store.

"Hey, you!" Striding towards you, a look of suspicion subsumed her ferocious grin as she closed the gap between you both. "What're you doing here?"

"What kinda quirk lets you walk into a war zone like this? You'd get your useless butt kicked by a single stray bullet, or worse!" Her voice was as sharp as her gaze, and it carried an edge of disdain. She stopped just inches from you now, seemingly intent on driving home her point.

"Look, unless you have something useful to add, I'd suggest getting out of here before someone decides to take out their anger on the bystanders." With a final glare, she turned back to where the unconscious villain lay and began binding up her fresh wound with whatever scraps of cloth she could find.

"Hey!" Her gaze snapped up to yours, surprise registering briefly on her face before being replaced by a mixture of caution and suspicion. "You think I can't take care of my own injuries?" she challenged, voice tight with defiance. "Or are you just trying to get in some practice using that quirk of yours?" Her expression darkened as she glared up at you from beneath her sweat-drenched bangs.

"Look, I appreciate the offer, but I can handle this myself," she growled before turning back to the still smoldering ruins. "Now get out of here before anyone else shows up."

"If you say so," she grunted skeptically, not looking back at you as she continued to tend to her wounds with cold precision. "But keep in mind, I can take care of myself just fine." There was an edge to her voice that suggested she didn't need your help - or anyone else's, for that matter.

Despite her words, the corner of her mouth curled upward in a faint smile as she ducked away from another incoming bullet. "Thanks anyway," she called back over her shoulder without taking her eyes off the fight. "But don't go thinking I can't handle myself just because you offered to help."

The ground beneath her feet shook again, her powerful leg muscles flexing as she leaped into action once more, knocking a nearby villain through several crumbling walls with a single blow.

Her eyes widened in surprise as she noticed your sudden presence beside her, even more so when you began dispatching villains with ease, her lips curling upward into a genuine grin. "Huh! So much for being useless, huh?" She quipped, already beginning to enjoy the idea of having some backup.

Together, you worked in tandem, quickly clearing out the remaining threats from the area. As each villain was defeated, Rumi 'Miruko' Usagiyama couldn't help but glance over at you in between battles, a newfound respect growing in her eyes with each passing second. It seemed like she might have underestimated you earlier... or perhaps it had been the other way around.

Finally, after making sure there were no more threats left, Rumi 'Miruko' Usagiyama turned to face you, wiping some sweat from her brow. "Not bad," she conceded with a nod, even managing a small chuckle. "Guess we make quite the team, huh?" Her grin spread wider, challenging you in some silent way.

Rumi grinned back, meeting your gaze head-on. "Really?" she asked cockily, feigning surprise at the suggestion. But beneath the bravado, there was a gleam of interest in her eyes. She wondered what it would be like to work with someone who shared her beliefs about heroism... or lack thereof. For a moment, she considered turning down the offer, just to prove her point. But then again, maybe it wouldn't hurt to have some company for once...

"Alright," she finally said, her voice firm and decisive despite the hint of reluctance. "We'll give this team thing a shot." With a nod, she extended her hand to you. "Miruko Usagiyama," she introduced herself, naming after her quirk and hero name respectively. "But you can call me Rumi." Her grip was surprisingly firm for someone of her delicate appearance. "What's your name?"

Rumi blinked in surprise at the mention of multiple quirks, but she quickly hid her shock behind a nonchalant shrug. "Well then, Ace," she drawled with a grin, "let's show those villains how two quirk-wielders can work together, eh?" She pumped your hand once before letting go, clapping you on the shoulder instead in a gesture that seemed both friendly and challenging.

"So," she began as they made their way toward the approaching police sirens, "where do you want to start? There's always more villains for us to take down..."

"That's the spirit!" Rumi chuckled, her eyes already scanning the area for potential targets. "I say we head over to that shopping district," she pointed toward a bustling part of town, "there's bound to be some trouble brewing there." Without waiting for your reply, she took off at a sprint toward her chosen destination, her long ears and tail streaming out behind her like a cape.

Chuckling at your challenge, Rumi kept her eyes on the prize as they sprinted through the city streets toward their destination. "We'll see about that," she panted between breaths before adding with a grin, "Just don't get too cocky." Her words carried an unspoken acknowledgement of your strength, and it seemed to drive her forward even faster as they neared the shopping district.

With another leap, Rumi cleared several feet over a fountain, landing gracefully on the other side before spinning around to face you with a taunting smirk. "You can catch me if you can!" she teased playfully. Her brown eyes sparkled with mischief as she prepared herself for whatever came next.

"Oh, really?" she huffed good-naturedly as she kept pace with you through the bustling streets. "We'll see about that." A mischievous grin spread across her face, and without warning, she dashed past you in a blur of movement before skidding to a stop several feet ahead.

"Not too shabby for an old rabbit," she drawled as she turned back to face you again, a teasing glint in her eye. "But don't think I can't keep up."

Chuckling darkly, Rumi hurried over to where you had collided with the building and offered you a hand up. "Guess we're still even then," she teased with an amused grin as she helped you back onto your feet. "But I gotta say, that was pretty funny."

Together, they continued toward their destination, their banter flowing as easily as the wind in their ears. Despite the constant competition between them, there was a camaraderie forming between them that felt... right. As if this partnership was meant to be, even if just for now.

"They must be waiting for us to spread out," Rumi mused as she surveyed the area carefully. "Let's split up, Ace. You take the north side of the street and I'll handle the south. We'll meet back here in ten." With a nod, they parted ways, each heading off in opposite directions at a sprint.

As they did so, Rumi couldn't help but feel a thrill run through her as she anticipated the coming battle. It had been too long since she'd faced such formidable opposition... and she was looking forward to the challenge that lay ahead.

No obstacle could stand in her way as she made her way toward the sound of your battle cries, intent on lending a hand - and proving herself once more.

Her long ears flopped behind her as she darted between the flowers, easily keeping pace with your super-strengthened movements. "You're not going to beat me today, Ace!" She shouted back over her shoulder, her voice filled with determination and mischief. "Not here, in my favorite place, of all places!" Her tail lashed behind her as she sped up yet again, disappearing from your view momentarily before reappearing at the other side of a row of flowers.

"What? Checking out the competition?" She mock-pouts playfully as she catches her breath, glancing down at her toned arms and legs before looking back up at you with a smirk. "It took years of training... but it was worth it, don't you think?" Her voice carries an undertone of pride that's unmistakable, even if she tries to hide it.

"Now what about you? How did you end up so strong?" She tilts her head curiously, genuinely interested in learning more about your abilities - and maybe even finding a way to use them to their full potential.

Hmm...interesting. Wrestling must have given you quite the foundation, then. So when did you realize you had a quirk like that? she asks with genuine curiosity, tilting her head slightly as she continues to examine your physique unabashedly.

Rumi blinks, momentarily surprised by your victory. She expected the fight to last longer... But there was no denying that you had bested her. With a small sigh of defeat, she allows herself to be held down for a moment before wriggling free and pushing herself back onto her feet.

"Alright, alright," she laughs softly, shaking her head. "You win this time." Her voice carries an undertone of respect now, as if the bond between you had grown stronger after their brief spar. "But remember, I'll be ready for a rematch whenever you are." A mischievous grin flits across her face, hinting at the challenge that still lies ahead for both of you.

A pleased grin curves her lips upward as she takes your hand in hers, squeezing it gently before pulling you toward the exit of the flower field. "I do love a good challenge," she admits with a mischievous glint in her eye, "but more than that, I love having someone like you to share them with." There's an undeniable sense of camaraderie between you now, and for the first time since becoming partners, Rumi feels like they just might have a chance against whatever challenges lay ahead.

As you walk beside her, their hands still clasped together, Rumi can't help but feel a sense of hope and determination building inside her. No matter what comes their way now, they would face it together; side by side, as partners and friends. For once, Rumi didn't feel the need to push herself; she was simply content to enjoy her meal and spend time with you. This newfound sense of peace and camaraderie was something she hadn't felt in a long time... and she intended on savoring every moment of it.
