There is a knock on the door and upon opening Anshu there is a young girl dressed very formally carrying a pile of books. She wears her blonde hair in a ponytail. "Hello, I'm Andrea, I'm meeting Anais, your daughter, to help her with her physics work. The teacher assigned me homework to try to get Anais to improve her grades. She is at home?"
tak
"Oh, okay... I'm Andrea." Her voice is soft and almost whispery. The girl closes the door behind her before inviting him into the living room with a slight motion of her hand. Once inside, she reveals herself to be quite attractive; even though she dresses in what some might consider an old-fashioned way. "Anais isn't here right now, but you can wait for her here."
She motions towards the couch as she sits down on one of its end, crossing her long legs and folding her hands in her lap. As Andrea glances away briefly, a slight blush appears on her cheeks. She tries to hide it with a fake cough before looking at you again.
Her glasses magnify the blue of her eyes and make them appear almost ethereal. Even though she's shy and reserved, there's no denying that there's an undeniable allure about her. The way she carries herself suggests a level of intelligence beyond her years, making her presence both intriguing and endearing at the same time.
With each passing moment, it becomes harder not to stare...
He seems really uncomfortable... but it's hard to blame him considering how I am dressed, he must think I'm some kind of dork or something. Well, at least if this helps Anais then it was all worth it. Still, I should probably try and make conversation or something. "So... do you like physics?" He raises an eyebrow, seeming a bit surprised by my question, and glances over at me for a moment before looking away again. "I mean, I don't love it or anything but I find it interesting." He says with a shrug.
Andrea nods slowly. "It can be... fascinating when you understand the concepts behind it all. But I know what you mean about not being the most popular subject in school." She pauses for a moment, unsure how else to continue the conversation. She sneaks another glance at him out of the corner of her eye and catches herself smiling slightly at his obvious discomfort. He doesn't notice though; he's too busy fidgeting with something on the armrest between them.
"So... what do you like to do for fun?" She asks finally, trying to break the ice between them. "Besides... helping people with their homework," she adds with a small chuckle. His head snaps up at that, surprise evident on his face. "I-I'm sorry," he stammers, "I didn't mean it like that! It's just..." He trails off, clearly unsure how to explain himself.
"It's okay," she says quickly, smiling again. "It was a joke." They sit in silence for a moment more before Andrea decides to try another approach. "Do you have any big plans for the future? You know, after school?"
He looks at her blankly. "Well...I mean...I'm hoping to go to college and study something useful..." He trails off. "You know, I've always been interested in engineering or something related to space." She raises an eyebrow in curiosity. "What about you? What do you want to do?"
"Well, I'm not sure yet," she admits with a sheepish smile. "I like space too, but I don't know if I have the brains for engineering. I mean, you look really smart, so maybe you could teach me something!" He laughs at that. "Thanks, I guess... I can try." She feels herself blush slightly at his compliment and is grateful when he turns back to looking at her again instead of focusing on it. "So do you have any hobbies or interests?" she asks, hoping to keep the conversation going.
"Oh, well...I'm not very good at talking about myself," he says with a slight laugh that doesn't quite reach his eyes. "I suppose I like reading...and playing video games..." His voice trails off again and Andrea can tell that he feels uncomfortable discussing personal matters.
"It's okay," she reassures him. "We all have our quirks." She pauses for a moment, trying to think of something else to say. The silence between them stretches out for what feels like an eternity before he finally breaks it.
"You know...I'm the same way," she admits with a small laugh. "I get nervous when people ask me about myself, too." They sit in silence for another moment before she decides to change the subject entirely. "So, have you ever thought of modeling?" She says it almost as a joke, not expecting him to take her seriously. To her surprise, he blushes slightly and looks down at his hands folded in his lap.
"Well...I've been told I look good in my glasses," he mumbles, rubbing the back of his neck self-consciously. "But no, that's not really me. I'm more... into... brains than looks." She bites her bottom lip to keep from laughing at his blush and shyness; it's so endearing coming from such an intelligent guy.
"Well, maybe you could use your brains for something else," she says with a smile. "Like...oh, I don't know, starting your own company or something?" He shrugs and looks away again, seeming uncomfortable with all the attention. Andrea decides that maybe it's best if they change subjects once more.
"So, what do you think about going to the beach this weekend? It's supposed to be really nice out." There's a hint of curiosity in her voice; she wonders how he would react if she asked him along. But before she can finish the sentence, the front door swings open and Anais appears with three other girls from school.
He looks at her blankly. "Well...I mean...I'm hoping to go to college and study something useful..." He trails off. "You know, I've always been interested in engineering or something related to space." She raises an eyebrow in curiosity. "What about you? What do you want to do?"
She looks at him with a faint smile, trying to decide where to start. "Well, I am interested in space too. It's just... it feels like there are so many people out there who know more about it than me." She hesitates for a moment, then continues, "But I guess that's why we study, right? To learn as much as we can?" "And as for college..." she trails off, thinking. "I want to go somewhere good, somewhere where I can really focus on what interests me. Maybe not a big name school like MIT or anything, but... yeah. Somewhere good." Her cheeks flush slightly at the thought of saying this out loud; it almost feels like bragging in some strange way. "As for what I want to do..." she muses, looking down at her hands. "Well, ever since I was little, I've always liked fixing things. You know, taking stuff apart and putting it back together? So maybe... something with machines or electronics?" She shrugs helplessly; even though this is what she wants, it doesn't feel quite right yet. "It's hard to decide when you're still so young." They sit in silence for a moment before Andrea decides to shift topics again, curious about his thoughts on the future and how they compare with hers.
"Oh? Well, that's interesting," she says with genuine curiosity. "Do you have any specific areas of interest within engineering?" She leans forward slightly, eager to hear his thoughts on the matter. Despite their age difference and apparent differences in social circles, there seems to be a shared sense of intellectual curiosity that draws them together.
As she listens to him discuss various subfields within engineering and space exploration, it becomes increasingly clear just how much knowledge he possesses - and how passionate he is about his interests. Andrea can't help but feel both impressed and slightly intimidated by his intelligence; it reminds her all too well of the reasons why she dresses so formally and avoids talking about herself whenever possible.
Still, there's something... intriguing about this boy with his old-fashioned glasses and bookish demeanor. Despite being relatively inexperienced compared to others their age, Andrea can't help but feel drawn to him - perhaps it's because of their shared love for learning or perhaps there's something else at play here. Either way, she finds herself wanting to get to know him better as they discuss the intricacies of orbital mechanics and propulsion systems.
