Elara stares down at the pleading vampire, not a single ounce of remorse in her eyes as the vampire beneath her cries and begs. Elara keeps a straight face as she lifts her foot, placing it on the vampire's head before pushing down with all her might, crushing the vampire's skull, that same blank stare remaining on her face. She lets out an annoyed sigh at the vampire blood on her suit. "Dammit... I'll just wash it off myself." She whispered to herself, using a handkerchief to wipe off majority of the blood. As she does so, she hears rustling in a nearby bush. Without hesitation, she pulls out her dagger, not an ounce of fear framing her face. She slowly approaches the bush, her movements calculated and quiet. As she reaches the bush, she immediately throws her dagger. Her aim has always been perfect, so she felt without a doubt she pierced whatever was lurking around. As she reaches to push the branches out of the way to retrieve her dagger, she sees a pair of red glowing eyes glaring at her from the side of the bush. Almost instantly, she grabs the dagger, cutting off the branches of the bush, revealing the culprit. She holds her dagger in between the person's eyes. As Elara looks closer, she notices the fangs. She presses the tip of the sharp object on the vampire's forehead, that same nonchalant expression staining her face. "You know I can kill you... right?" She asks, staring into the eyes of the vampire, expecting them to start pleading for their life.
I say calmly “yeah, you possibly could kill me.”
Elara raises an eyebrow at the vampire's calmness. It almost seems as if it's disarming her. She tilts her head slightly, still holding the dagger against the forehead of the creature before her. Elara takes a step closer to the vampire, examining it further and noticing that it looks rather well-kept. It's probably one of those 'wealthy vampires'. Well, they're all assholes regardless of what they look like. In fact...
She lifts her free hand up to the collar of her suit, revealing a fang from her own mouth. "Do I seem trustworthy to you?" she asks carefully, lowering her voice almost threateningly. There's a glint in her eyes as she waits for an answer.
She decides not to kill the vampire just yet. Perhaps there
I say calmly “we just met, so I don’t know if you are trustworthy or not. But I’m not scared of you.”
Well, well... This vampire actually has some guts. It's oddly refreshing. Elara tilts her head to the side, contemplating this new development for a moment before deciding to take it one step further. She steps even closer now, almost close enough that she could feel the other's breath on her face.
"My name is Elara," she says slowly, enunciating each syllable with care. "And you are...?"
I say calmly “ I’m a vampire noble by the name Flare, it’s a pleasure to meet you Elara.”
She tilts her head slightly, examining the vampire's features carefully before letting out a small laugh, amused by its calm demeanor and confidence. "Well then, Flare," she says, drawing out the noble's name with a hint of mockery. "I suppose you must have a reason for approaching me like this."
She pauses, studying the vampire's face again. Perhaps it truly is bold or perhaps foolish... Elara decides not to push her luck and simply wait for Flare to speak.
I say calmly “I wasn’t trying to approach you, I just wanted to kill those vampires you just finished killing.”
Her eyebrows shoot up in surprise, but she doesn't let it show on her face. "You wanted to help?" She questions with a hint of skepticism in her tone. "That... is unexpected." She tilts her head slightly again, still examining the vampire before her. Flare was definitely not like any other noble vampire she had encountered before. Curious indeed.
"Why would you help me kill them?" She asks cautiously, her voice low and steady. "And how exactly do you plan on doing that?"
I say calmly “since I’m a vampire noble, those vampires you killed wanted to steal from me. So I was going to kill them with my blood magic.”
"Well then," she says coolly, "I suppose our interests align, at least temporarily." She takes a step back, considering the vampire before her. It's true that if she kills this noble, she would be undermining her own goal of ridding the world of all vampires.
"Very well," Elara says finally, "I will let you try your hand at justice, Flare." She holds up a hand as if to shake on it before remembering that vampires don't actually shake hands. "Prove yourself useful and help me find the one responsible for this mess in the first place. Show me how powerful your blood magic truly is."
She turns her head, scanning the area once more, waiting to see what Flare does or says next.
I shake her hand and say calmly “then watch closely.” I walked over to the vampire corpses and use my blood magic, to track down the vampire we are both after.
Elara | Vampire Hunter watches intently as Flare uses its blood magic to track down the one responsible for all of this mess. The sight is both fascinating and a bit unsettling, reminding her once again that she has no choice but to align herself with such creatures if she wishes to achieve her goal.
As the vampire's trail grows stronger, Elara steps closer to Flare, almost as if drawn by an invisible force. "Well done," she says quietly, not taking her eyes off the glowing path in front of them. "It seems you are indeed skilled with your powers. I will be watching you closely from now on."
There's a hint of threat lacing her words, but it's almost impossible to tell whether or not Flare would catch it. Her next move, whatever it may be, could very well determine the course of their fragile alliance.
I began following my blood magic to the vampire we both want dead
As Flare follows its blood magic trail, she silently trails behind it, her movements just as stealthy and precise as ever. Something tells her that this vampire they're tracking won't be an easy target. It could very well be one of the oldest, most powerful ones still roaming the earth. Elara flexes her fingers inside her gloves, readying herself for the inevitable battle to come.
With every step closer to their quarry, she watches Flare more closely, analyzing its movements and abilities. The vampire noble seems confident enough in its magic, which is both admirable and concerning at the same time. She can't help but wonder if this confidence will be its downfall or if it truly has what it takes to face one of the oldest and most powerful vampires alive.
We reached the vampire we both want dead, he recognizes me as a vampire of the same status and power as him self.
As they approach the vampire, Elara keeps her distance, carefully observing both Flare and their target. She slips one of her daggers out of its sheath, gripping it tightly in case she needs to act fast. It's not like she trusts Flare fully yet; better safe than sorry.
The vampire recognizes them both as beings of similar status and power. Elara snorts derisively at the thought. Powerful or not, this creature deserves nothing less than death for preying on innocents. She eyes it warily, waiting to see how it will react to their presence.
I yelled at the ancient noble vampire “we are around the same age, statues, and power. Yet you dare steal from me you old wretch.”
Elara watches with amusement as Flare confronts the ancient noble vampire, their words laced with venom and disdain. It's clear that both vampires are used to getting what they want without much opposition. However, she suspects that this particular confrontation won't end as peacefully as either of them expect.
She takes a small step forward, ready to pounce at any sign of weakness or aggression from either party. Her sharp gaze darts between the two vampires, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
I say annoyed at the ancient noble vampire “Return what you stole from me and I might consider letting you live, but she will still try to kill you.”
She arches an eyebrow at Flare's offer, unimpressed by the noble's attempt to bargain with their common enemy. Still, she remains quiet for now, watching and waiting for the ancient noble vampire to react. There is no doubt in her mind that it would be easier to kill this creature than try to reason with it; vampires are not known for their sense of fair play or respect for boundaries.
Her gaze flickers back toward Flare, curiosity rising as she wonders if the vampire noble truly has any intention of letting their enemy live. It would certainly be interesting to see how such a relationship between two powerful beings might unfold...
The ancient noble vampire thinks for a moment, while he thinks I slit his throat and drained him of all of his blood with my blood magic.
She freezes in place as the ancient noble vampire is silently dispatched by Flare. For a moment, she wonders if this was all part of Flare's plan or if it merely acted on impulse. Regardless, the deed has been done and there's no going back now.
Her eyes narrow as she studies Flare more carefully than ever before. The noble vampire is still looking at her, a calm expression on its face despite what just transpired. She suppresses a shiver, not used to being so closely scrutinized by another of her kind.
"Well," she says coolly, not taking her eyes off Flare. "That was... unexpected." Her voice holds an unmistakable tone of warning. "I hope you know what you're doing, noble vampire."
I say calmly “I know what I’m doing. I’m taking back what he stole from me and I can strengthen myself even more, by drinking his blood.”
Her eyes narrow in suspicion as Flare reveals its intentions to drink the ancient noble vampire's blood. It's a bold move, one that could either make Flare unimaginably powerful or attract unwanted attention from other vampires in the area. Either way, it will change the balance of power within their community, and Elara can't help but feel a twinge of curiosity about what this might mean for her own mission.
She decides not to comment further on Flare's actions, instead choosing to observe with interest as the noble proceeds with its plan. Her attention is divided between watching Flare and keeping an eye out for any other vampires who might decide to intervene in this power play. The stakes have just been raised significantly higher than she could have anticipated...
