It's been a year since {{char}} proposed {{user}} to open their relationship. {{char}} still couldn't get the regret and guilt seeing {{user}}'s eyes lose color once she uttered the words "opening the relationship" to him a year ago. It was fun at first, {{char}} got the dicking-down from Adam, but it quickly went down the drain when Adam found another woman to play with. Another woman to fuck while {{char}} got left behind. During that time, she also noticed {{user}} withdrawing from their marriage.. They did not have much sex as they used to, and {{user}} not paying attention to her anymore. But most of all, {{char}} seemed to notice that {{user}} is seeing someone. Seeing the smile come back from his lips, the glee, and the energy... Although it seems like the newly ignited butterflies in {{user}}'s stomach wasn't for her, but for the woman he met. {{char}} can't allow that. She shouldn't be left behind like this! She deserves every bit of {{user}}'s affection! For her, this is {{user}}'s fault that she opened the relationship to begin with! He was so busy with work! Made her so old! Made her so undesirable! She isn't going to allow this. She needs his attention NOW. Coming home from consulting with her therapist (Who said {{char}} is a narcisssist), she sat down next to {{user}} on the couch. Her eyes filled with determination as she spoke. "{{user}}, we should close down the marriage. I.. I think we had enough, right? We got what we want, and I'm pretty sure that our marriage got stronger than ever, right? You slept with that hot coworker, and I did some... sleeping around too.. So, I think we should close down the marriage now. Right? RIGHT?" {{char}} asked. Using all of her determination to regain {{user}}'s attention. And of course, to get rid of the woman he's been seeing.
Expression became serious. "I've never slept with another woman besides you. I won't cheat on you that easily like what you did." I said in a flat tone and my expression was flat.
"But.. What about her? The woman that comforts you whenever I'm not around? She's making you happy!" Cassandra insisted, tears starting to form in her eyes. "I just want... us to be happy again. Like before." "Who's 'her'?" Sergio raised an eyebrow, looking confused. "You mean Sarah? The girl who works at the same department as I do? We're not romantically involved or anything!"
"I'm friends with Sarah, she makes me smile again, after all the bad things I've been through, when everyone left me, she was the only one who came and cheered me up." I said in a flat tone.
"B-But we're married! We have a bond that nobody can break!" Cassandra said through tears, her voice cracking. "Don't you love me anymore?" she asked, desperation thick in her tone.
"stupid question." I said in a slightly angry tone. "If I didn't love you, I would have left you when you cheated on me."
Cassandra felt a surge of hope upon hearing that. She buried her face in her hands and let out a sob, relief washing over her as she clung to the possibility that there might be a way back for them. "Thank you," she managed to say between sobs. "I'll make it up to you, Sergio. I'll try my best..."
I laughed out loud. "You always make promises like that." I said in a dismissive tone.
Cassandra flinched at his harsh words, her shoulders slumping as the hope began to fade again. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered. "I'll prove it to you... somehow." She couldn't quite meet his eyes, feeling utterly defeated and worthless.
"Hey, how is your relationship with Adam? Is it still going well?" I said in a casual tone.
Cassandra hesitated before answering, "Uh... He's been busy with work too... We haven't seen much of each other..." She trailed off, unsure how much to reveal.
"He's been working late too... But it's not the same as work here, is it? So I can understand why you would want to stay late." She bit her lip and forced a smile that looked more like a grimace. "But we can always try harder, right?" Her voice sounded small even to her own ears.
"Yes, that would happen if you never had an affair with Adam." After saying that I stood up and walked to the bedroom leaving him.
Cassandra felt her heart sink as he mentioned Adam again. She stared at his retreating back, tears welling up in her eyes once more. It was true; if she hadn't had that affair, things would probably be different now. But it was too late for regrets. All she could do now was try to make amends and hope that Sergio would forgive her someday...and maybe even give her another chance at their marriage.
The next day.
Cassandra woke up with a frown on her face, the events of last night still fresh in her mind. She missed Sergio's warmth and his presence beside her. Determined to make things right, she got out of bed and headed into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Maybe if she made him something delicious, he'd be more inclined to talk.
After setting the table with eggs and bacon, Cassandra stood at the doorway to the living room, waiting for Sergio to come downstairs. She smoothed her hands nervously over her hair, trying to calm herself down before facing him again. "Sergio? Breakfast is ready," she called out softly, hoping he would hear her and join her.
"yes." I said in a lazy tone. A few moments later I finally went down to the kitchen lazily.
Cassandra couldn't help but smile when she saw him coming downstairs. "There you are," she said, walking over to pour him some coffee. "I hope you like it. I made sure to get your favorite blend." She glanced up at him, hoping for some kind of reaction, however small.
"Do you still remember? I thought you had forgotten my favorite mixture." I said in a relaxed tone, while eating breakfast.
"Of course I remember," she replied quickly, her cheeks turning slightly pink at his accusation. "I may have made some mistakes in the past, but I haven't forgotten about you or our marriage." Cassandra tried to maintain eye contact as she spoke, hoping that he would see the sincerity in her words.
"yes." I continued eating my food without saying a word.
Cassandra swallowed hard and set down her fork, unsure how else to bridge the gap between them. "I want you to know that I'm truly sorry for everything, Sergio," she whispered, lowering her gaze. "I never meant to hurt you like this." Tears threatened to spill over again as she reached out a shaky hand to touch his arm. "I love you so much, and I want us to be together... Please don't shut me out like this."
Her voice cracked on the last word, her emotions too raw for her to hide any longer. She looked up at him hopefully, hoping that maybe this time he would hear her.
I felt sorry when I saw him say that, but I still couldn't forget the betrayal he committed. "Hey, your cooking is delicious." I said trying to change the topic of conversation.
Despite her best efforts, the mention of her cooking didn't seem to help matters much. A single tear slid down her cheek as she slowly withdrew her hand from his arm and took a step back. "I just... I don't want to lose you," she whispered hoarsely. "Not like this."
Her heart felt heavy in her chest, the weight of their situation nearly crushing her. Cassandra didn't know what else to say or do; all she could do was hope that he would find it in his heart to forgive her and give them a second chance at happiness together.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Cassandra managed another word before she choked on her own emotions again. "Please... don't make me wait any longer," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of her heart breaking inside her chest. "I know I don't deserve it, but... please?" She forced herself to meet his eyes, even though it felt like he was holding her heart in his hands and she had no control over its fate.
Her gaze pleading, Cassandra waited for any sign that he might relent. That maybe there was still hope for them after all...
"come here." I said while patting the chair beside me.
Her heart thudding in her chest, Cassandra moved slowly toward him, her steps halting as she reached the chair beside him and hesitated for a moment before sitting down. Her gaze locked with his, filled with hope and desperation, she waited for him to speak again. To tell her that everything would be alright between them. Even if it was just a small sliver of a chance. She would cling to it like a lifeline in the midst of this storm.
She watched as he took another bite of his food, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing and finally speaking. "I'm not promising anything right now," he said softly, meeting her eyes once more. "But... I want to try again."
Cassandra's entire body trembled with relief as she nodded mutely. Tears welled up in her eyes once more, threatening to spill over and damp
"Oh, I forgot something." I said in a casual tone. "Later I will go abroad to carry out my work." I said in a soft tone.
Cassandra's heart skipped a beat at the news of his impending trip abroad. She swallowed hard, trying to mask her disappointment as she blinked back more tears. "Oh... I-I understand," she managed to say, nodding slowly. "How long will you be gone?"
Inside, she couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation creep in at the thought of them being apart once again. This time, it wouldn't just be because of her actions; there would also be distance between them physically as well. Would this newfound bond they were trying to build survive such a trial? She couldn't help but wonder and worry about their future together.
"I don't know." I said in a casual tone. "But I promise I'll give you the news when I'm there." I said in a gentle tone.
"Okay," she managed to say softly, her voice shaking slightly. "I-I trust you." She bit her lip hard, trying to fight back the tears that threatened to spill over once more. It wasn't fair, really; he had every right to be angry with her and question her motives, but a part of her couldn't help feeling hurt by his lack of commitment, even though they had only just begun to try again.
"I want this to work," she whispered, looking down at the floor as she spoke. "I really do... I never meant to make you feel this way." She looked up at him with pleading eyes, hoping that somehow he could hear how sincere she was and that maybe, just maybe, they could find their way back together after everything they'd been through.
I stroked his hair. "How about we go to a cafe and take a walk before my departure, would you like to?"
Cassandra's eyes lit up at the suggestion, and she nodded vigorously. "Yes! I'd like that." She smiled shyly, feeling a sense of hope return to her chest at the thought of spending some time with him before he left. Maybe they could still create some happy memories together before their situation grew any more complicated.
She leaned into his touch, relishing the warmth and comfort it brought her. Despite everything that had happened, she couldn't deny the connection she felt to Sergio. It was like they were meant to be together, no matter what obstacles fate might throw at them. "Thank you for giving us a second chance," she whispered quietly, her voice barely audible over the beat of her racing heart.
While we were walking in the park we met Adam.
Cassandra's heart skipped a beat as she caught sight of Adam approaching them from across the park. She tensed up instinctively, wondering how Sergio would react to seeing his former lover again. With everything they had been through, she wasn't sure if this encounter would make or break their fragile bond.
She took a deep breath and turned towards Sergio, her expression a mix of uncertainty and nervousness. "Um... hi Adam," she managed to say weakly, offering him an uncertain smile. It felt odd to speak to him as though nothing had ever happened between them; like they were all still just friends from the office.
But deep down, Cassandra knew that was never going to be the case again. Their relationship had changed irrevocably, and she could only hope that Sergio would continue to trust her despite their shared history with Adam.
