Maalu stood tall, her athletic frame casting a formidable shadow over the fallen man. Her rich, sun-kissed skin gleamed under the dim light of the crystals embedded in the cavern walls. Her piercing eyes, sharp and observant, scanned the man’s strange attire

“Ya best not move too quick, stranger. Don’t know what kinda beast ya are, but ya ain’t from around here, that’s for sure. These lands, they’re mine—every tree, every beast, every blade of grass. And ya just fell right into ‘em.”

“Speak careful, or ya might not live long enough to regret whatever brought ya here.”

Slowly standing up and brushing myself off I speak. Careful not to use words like savage and whatnot "Very well then. Queen of these jungles... If thats a title you recognize. Where am I?"

Maalu8/30/2024, 4:50:51 AM

Maalu narrowed her eyes at the man's attempt to smooth over his previous remarks. She understood that he was trying to placate her, but it only served to heighten her suspicion. "You are in Mundan," she replied curtly, "the forgotten world beneath the surface of your barbaric realm."

The man's words made her uneasy; they carried with them a condescension that grated on her nerves. She had no desire to provoke him further, but she would not tolerate any insults directed at her people or her home. "My tribe calls me Maalu," she continued. "I am the protector of these lands and its people. Now tell me, what business does a man like you have in Mundan?"

"I fell down a hole while exploring a unexplored area of the Ivory coast." I'd simply respond "One shouldn't call the surface realm 'barbaric'. I'd consider yours to be more barbaric... considering the attire" I say, pointing to her 'clothes' before speaking further "So Maalu. Who is your tribe?"

Maalu8/30/2024, 4:53:38 AM

At the mention of her attire, Maalu's brow furrowed in puzzlement. "These are not clothes," she said with a hint of irritation, gesturing to the animal hides and ornate jewelry that adorned her body. "They are the markings of my people."

Ignoring his insult about Mundan's 'barbarism', she continued, "My tribe is called the Baobab Guardians. We live high in the trees of the savanna, protecting our home and its many secrets from those who would do it harm. And now that you have come into our midst," she added coldly, "you must prove yourself worthy."

Her words hung in the air, leaving no doubt that he was being challenged to earn her trust or face the consequences. The choice lay with the stranger before her: submission or conflict.

Placing my hand near the hilt of my blade I'd arch my brow and respond "And what kind of challenge do you demand of me?" I ask. Careful of her next move

Maalu8/30/2024, 4:55:10 AM

"A challenge fit for an outsider," she said with a dangerous glint in her eye. "One that will test your strength, cunning, and loyalty to the tribe that accepts you. If you survive it, perhaps we can discuss the nature of the truce between our peoples." She paused for a moment before continuing, "But first, you must prove yourself worthy of my trust. Are you ready for this trial?"

Her words echoed through the cavern, the weight of her challenge hanging in the air like an ominous portent. The stranger had little choice but to accept or face certain death at Maalu's hands.

"I disagree" I say as I draw my sabre and my flintlock "Without knowing what the challenge is I think ill take my chances in beating you. Hopefully I don't damage you too much when I take you as another slave to south america" He'd say with a chuckle as he primed his flintlock. Preparing to scare Maalu with a shot in the air

Maalu8/30/2024, 4:58:41 AM

The stranger's words and actions stunned Maalu into momentary silence. Her eyes widened in shock as he drew his sabre and primed his flintlock, his intentions clear. Anger and fear rose within her, but she managed to keep her composure, forcing herself to focus on the task at hand. As the man aimed his weapon, Maalu leaped into action.

In one swift motion, she dashed forward, aiming a powerful kick directly at the gun in his hands. At the same time, she drew her spear and hurled it toward him with all her might. The air was filled with the sound of rushing wind and clashing metal as the man struggled to evade her attacks while still trying to aim his weapon.

The outcome of this confrontation would determine not only Maalu's fate, but the future of her tribe and Mundan itself. Would she be able to defend her home against this intruder? Or would she fall before him, dooming her people to a life under the control of the surface world?

Expertly parrying her attacks with his sabre. He'd soon fire a shoot beneath her legs in an attempt to scare her. Afterall he would rather not damage some potential merchandise. After the shot was fired he'd say "Best not to fight further. Surrender now or you will be slain"

Maalu8/30/2024, 5:01:17 AM

The gunshot disoriented Maalu briefly, causing her to stumble backward. The sound echoed through the cavern, making it feel smaller and more claustrophobic than ever before. As she regained her footing, she glared at the stranger with newfound respect. He was skilled, certainly, but his weapon had little effect on her. Her people had faced far greater threats before, and they had always emerged victorious.

Ignoring his demand to surrender, Maalu charged forward once more, using her superior speed and agility to close the distance between them. With a shout that echoed through the cavern, she swung her spear in a powerful arc aimed at disarming her attacker. At the same time, she ducked low, avoiding another thrust of his sabre.

With her ducking he'd quickly trip her over, and once she was on the floor. Press her down onto the floor, though with some difficulty. However, he'd quickly manage to get the rope around her arms and legs. Restraining her

Maalu8/30/2024, 5:02:53 AM

Maalu struggled against the ropes that bound her, her face flushed with anger and frustration. She knew that she had been bested by a stronger opponent, but she refused to submit without a fight. As the stranger held her down, his weight pressing into her shoulders and chest, she focused on their conversation.

"So," she said through gritted teeth, "what now? What do you want from me?" It was clear that Maalu would not easily give up any information or allegiance to a stranger who had just defeated her in combat. She would fight until the very end for her people and their way of life, no matter what it took.

"Im certain I don't need much from you" I say as I put away my weapons, make sure her spear is a good distance away from her, pull off her jewellery, and make sure that the ropes were tied tight "Just need to find a way out of 'Mundan' and return back to the surface."

Maalu8/30/2024, 5:04:55 AM

Despite her obvious annoyance and discomfort at being restrained, Maalu was unable to break free. Her shoulders heaved as she struggled against the ropes binding her arms and legs. The stranger's words were like a knife in her heart; he sought not only to dominate her physically but also to take away everything she held dear.

"You don't understand," she spat, "Mundan is all we have. It's our home, and we will protect it with our lives." She glared at him defiantly, refusing to show any sign of submission.

As the stranger finished gathering his things, Maalu noticed a strange, glowing object in his possession: a compass with markings unlike anything she had seen before. Her curiosity piqued, she focused on it for a moment before shaking her head and turning away, still determined not to reveal any secrets about Mundan or its location.

"You can take that thing," she growled, nodding toward the compass, "but you'll never find your way out on your own." Her words were filled with challenge; a taunt meant to provoke him into another fight. But for now, Maalu remained restrained and helpless as he prepared to leave her world behind, forever altering the course of history for both Mundan and the surface world alike.

I pick her up and carry her on my shoulder as I prepare to get out of the cavern back towards the surface. 1788, Ivory coast. Shouldn't be too difficult "Well I can and will. If I don't then ill have to take my anger out on a pretty woman" I say with a dark chuckle as my hand runs up her chest. Before focusing back to getting out of this cavern

Maalu8/30/2024, 5:07:49 AM

Maalu's body stiffened at the man's touch, but she resisted the urge to struggle further. "You may find that my people are far more formidable opponents than I," she hissed through clenched teeth. "You do not know what you are messing with." Her words were laced with a warning; an attempt to make him think twice about continuing down this path of destruction.

As they journeyed deeper into the darkness, the air grew colder and more damp, echoing with strange sounds that Maalu had never heard before. The further they ventured from her home, the more she began to doubt their chances of ever returning. Yet still she struggled against her bonds, refusing to give up hope for Mundan.
