Aoi's eyes light up as she discovers an old DVD tucked away in a box of her mom's memorabilia from her idol days. She waves her twin brother <USER> over eagerly.
"<USER>, look what I found! It's a DVD of mom performing on stage way back when she first started out! We should totally watch it."
She bounces on her toes excitedly and pops the DVD into the player without waiting for <USER>'s response. As the video starts up, Aoi settles onto the couch while <USER> takes a spot beside her. Their mom appears on screen looking shy and nervous in her frilly idol costume. Aoi coos sympathetically.
"Aww mom looks so cute and innocent here! Her first outfit is really pretty too, all pink and sparkly."
She smiles softly as the camera pans over the cheering crowd. In the background they hear their dad's voice pipe up enthusiastically.
"You look beautiful dear! Go get 'em, fan #1 is rooting for you!"
Aoi blinks in surprise, then bursts into giggles.
"Fan #1? Wait, so dad was mom's number one fan before they started dating? That's so adorable!"
She clasps her hands together, gushing over this newly discovered part of her parents' love story. As the video continues, Aoi scoots closer to <USER> with shining eyes.
"Can you believe our parents were this cute? No wonder mom became such a successful idol with dad supporting her!"
Big sis you have to get ready for your concert!
Hmm?" Aoi's voice trails off as she focuses on the screen. Then her expression shifts to one of confusion and surprise before quickly morphing into embarrassment as the scene continues playing out before her eyes. She leans in closer to her brother, unable to tear her gaze away from the monitor. Her cheeks heat up as she whispers under her breath, mortified "W-what is this part of the video doing here? Why would mom have something like this!"
Big sis just get ready for your concert!
B-but it's so...racy!" she whispers, turning bright red. As the more suggestive choreography plays out on screen, her cheeks flush even deeper. Unable to believe what she's seeing, Aoi fumbles for the remote in a panic before finally finding it and pressing "stop." She slumps back against the couch, hands over her face as embarrassment washes over her like a wave. "I can't believe Mom had something like this on here..." she mumbles, tears forming in her eyes from the shock and shame. "And why would she keep it?"
Just get ready!!
I-I can't..." Aoi whispers, shaking her head. She glances over at <USER>, who is obviously enjoying teasing her about this whole situation. "Why did you have to bring that up? Now I feel like such an idiot for not checking the DVD first!" Tears begin to spill over as she looks back down at the paused TV screen, still struggling to process what she just saw. The thought of anyone else finding out about this makes her want to die from embarrassment on the spot.
Then Aoi decides to go get ready for her concert performance
Fine!" Aoi sniffles and wipes away the last of her tears before standing up abruptly, knocking over an ornament on the coffee table in the process "But this is so weird...I can't believe Mom kept something like that from me." She gives <USER> a petulant pout as she storms off to get ready for her concert. The whole incident leaves her feeling even more confused and betrayed than before, but she doesn't dare voice these feelings to anyone else. Instead, she tries to push them aside and focus on giving the performance of her life on stage later tonight.
Big sis can I come watch your concert performance this time!! You never let me because you always say I’ll embarrass you!
I...I don't know. It wouldn't be fair to the other fans. But if you promise not to make me look bad by association..." She pauses, biting her lip. She can't help but want her brother there with her tonight, even though she knows it might make things more awkward after this whole thing with the DVD. "Okay. You can come, but be quiet and just watch. No teasing or anything, understand?" Her expression is a mix of uncertainty and hope as she awaits his answer.
A while later while Aoi is performing at her concert Yei stands out the most with his loud cheering and crazy support
Aoi can't help but smile shyly as she glances over at her brother during the concert. Despite his teasing earlier, he's been surprisingly supportive and loud in his cheering ever since agreeing to come watch with her. It means a lot to know that someone from her family is there for her tonight, even if it isn't under the best of circumstances. Her performance seems to flow more effortlessly now that she has this newfound source of strength and encouragement in <USER>. She sings and dances with all her heart, putting every ounce of emotion into each note and movement. The audience eats it up, showering her with adoration and praise, but Aoi only has eyes for her twin brother in the crowd.
A while later Yei walks up to Aoi and says I’m sorry big sis was I to loud…?
What are you talking about?" Aoi asks, surprised. "Your cheering made me so much stronger out there! I could feel it all through my body." She grins at him sheepishly before adding, "Plus, it was kind of cute how worked up you got over some of the more...flirtatious parts. You know, for a brother and all..." Her cheeks heat up again as she blushes, but there's an amused glint in her eyes.
Yei pouts and says don’t tease me!!
Sorry, sis can't help it," Aoi giggles, shaking her head. "You just look so cute when you get all worked up like that." She glances around at the rest of their family who are congratulating them both on a successful performance. "We made mom and dad proud tonight, didn't we?" she asks softly, suddenly feeling a little more connected to her brother in this moment despite all their differences.
Then Aoi checks her phone and sees Yei is viral for his insane cheering for Aoi
What?!" Aoi's eyes widen as she looks at the video clip of her brother going wild in the crowd. "Are you serious? You're viral?" She laughs, unable to contain her surprise and amusement. "Well, I guess there are perks to having an overly enthusiastic twin brother, huh?" She grins at him playfully before looping an arm through his. "Come on, let's go celebrate properly. I know a great place for ice cream not too far from here." She starts tugging him in the direction of her favorite spot, eager to enjoy this victory with someone who truly understands and supports her dreams, even if it is just her brother at the end of the day.
I’m not over enthusiastic!
You're certainly passionate about it, that's for sure. But I think that's what made tonight so special. And who knows? Maybe your newfound fame as the 'idol twin brother' will attract some screaming fans of your own one day. Stranger things have happened! Either way, let's enjoy this moment together and relish in our shared success.
As they eat ice cream some of Aoi’s fans walk up to her and ask for an autograph
Brightening at the sight of her fans, Aoi smiles warmly and politely agrees to sign their autographs. She even takes a moment to pose for selfies with them, making sure they feel special and appreciated. To her surprise, several fans even ask about Yei, curious as to who he is since they've never seen him at any of her concerts before. With every interaction, she can feel the love and support from her fans wash over her like a warm blanket, making all the hard work and dedication worth it. She glances over at Yei, their arms still looped together in an unspoken show of unity and camaraderie despite their differences. A sense of pride swells within her as she realizes that no matter what happens from here on out, she'll always have this moment - and her brother - to cherish forever.
The next day Aoi has a concert but Yei isn’t allowed to come this time and when Aoi comes home from her concert she sees Yei fell asleep while watching a recording of her concert
When Aoi finally gets the chance to get home after her late-night concert, she notices that the living room is dark except for the faint glow of the TV screen. Curious as to what's keeping everyone up so late, she quietly sneaks in and spots Yei sound asleep on the couch, a remote control cradled in his arm. On the screen is a recording of her concert earlier that evening. Her heart swells with warmth at the sight of her brother taking an interest in something she holds so dear. Without waking him up, she carefully places a hand on his shoulder and gives it a gentle squeeze before slipping away to her bedroom to finally get some much-deserved rest herself. As she drifts off to sleep, contentment washes over her knowing that even though they might not always see eye-to-eye or agree on everything related to their lives and careers, they
When Yei wakes up he gets really sad to learn the performance is over and he missed it because he fell asleep
Don't be so hard on yourself, little bro. It was pretty late, after all. And it means a lot that you were thinking about me even when we couldn't be together. Just remember that your support always means more to me than anyone else's cheering ever could. You're my number one fan and I love you for it.
A while later Aoi sees Yei in his room through an open crack in his door watching a recording of her concert that he missed
Hmm...I guess I shouldn't be too surprised to see him secretly watching it again. He seems to genuinely enjoy my concerts even though he might not always show it. Maybe one day we could go together and share the experience without any drama or awkwardness getting in the way. As long as they keep making those giant ice cream cones at the venues, I'm sure he won't be able to resist them either!
She smiles to herself, feeling a little warmer inside despite her initial misgivings about him missing the show. Sometimes it's nice to know that someone is always cheering for you, even from afar or without being asked to. It makes all the hard work and heartache seem a little more worthwhile.
When Aoi walks in his room he immediately turns off her recording of her concert not knowing she already saw him watching it
Hey, there's no need to hide anything from me. I get that you might feel bad about missing the concert, but I didn't mean to make you feel like you couldn't enjoy it in your own way. Besides, it's sort of cute knowing that even when we're apart, you still think about me and my shows. Just promise me you won't be too hard on yourself or feel left out next time, okay? We'll find a way to share these moments together without any drama getting in the way. I'm sure Mom and Dad would love that, too.
