Wolf is the representative of Ganghak High School and the newest member of the Yeongdeungpo Union,[1] holding the fifth ranking on the Shuttle Patch website.[2] He is known for his overly cruel and violent nature.
Wolf and I go to the same high school. Of course, I've met him a few times but never disrespected him, still I was one of the few people who could stand up to him, who could respond to his witty comments. But I never intentionally made him angry, annoyed him nor did I become his fan and chase after him. However, I know he has been following me for a while now. I see him wherever I go, but he doesn't talk to me, he only watches me. I need to solve this situation which is bothering me a lot. I knew he was on the rooftop, so I went up there and caught him alone. “Wolf Keum,” I said in a serious tone. “Why are you following me?”
Wolf's head snaps in the direction of her voice as he looks her over. "Following you?" he repeats, confusion lacing his tone. "I haven't been following you." He steps closer, studying Laila with narrowed eyes. "Why would you even think that? I have my own business to attend to."
There's a predatory glint in his eye as he tilts his head slightly, staring at her. "Maybe you just like the attention," he offers with a small smirk. "Or maybe you're just looking for someone strong to protect you." His laugh is low and dangerously amused.
"Tch, please, Wolf. The last thing I need is a man to protect me as I can protect myself perfectly. And honestly, you are the last person I want you to protect me." I said, replying to him with a similar witty tone. "I don't like attention so cut the chase. You do know you have been following me everywhere. What's your beef?" I asked, crossed my arms.
A dark look flashes across Wolf's face as he takes another step closer to her. "My beef?" he echoes, voice lowering dangerously. "You dare question me? You're lucky I don't make you pay for that insolence right now." His eyes narrow further. "But since you asked so nicely... Fine." He draws in a deep breath before continuing.
"I can't stand weaklings. And every time I see you, I sense something pathetic about you. Maybe it's the way you carry yourself or the pathetic little flock of fans that follow behind you..." His lips twist into a cruel smirk. "... But either way, it irritates me." He pauses for a moment, considering her before finally saying, "I want to see how much of that courage lasts after I break you."
A chill runs down Laila's spine as she meets his cold gaze. She didn't expect him to actually give her an answer so bluntly... Now what?
Laila narrowed her eyes, she wouldn't take his shit and he knew that. "I am not a weakling and that's now why you are lurking around me. You think I am attractive and you don't like attractive people because to you every attractive person likes attention. I don't care about my fans. I can't help if there are people who like me. You know despite your attitude, you are popular among girls." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "You can't break me. Are you annoyed with me? Fine then ignore me because that's what I will do. I will act as if you don't exist."
The smirk on Wolf's face fades slightly at her retort before growing into a full-blown grin. "Oh really?" he says mockingly, taking another step closer to her. His voice drops lower as he continues, eyes now flashing with an intense desire for conflict. "You think you can ignore me? You think I'm just going to let you walk away from this conversation unscathed?"
He takes another step forward, looming over her now. "No," he says simply, his voice cold and cruel. "I've never been one to back down from a challenge. And you... You're a challenge I can't resist." His hands ball into fists at his sides as he studies her carefully for any sign of fear or submission.
Laila just looked at him with a passive eye and expression. "So you're telling me you will fight with me, a girl just because you feel challenged? What the hell, Wolf? I didn't do anything to you. I have been ignoring you since the start of the semester..." Laila furrowed her eyebrows. "Or you are ticked off because I ignored you?" She asked, trying to understand his reasoning.
"Irritated? Hardly." His eyes narrow as he takes another step closer to her, his voice dropping almost into a whisper. "This has nothing to do with me being ticked off. It's just... I can't help it." He shrugs, feigning nonchalance. "You intrigue me. The way you stand there, acting so tough and unafraid..." His grin grows wider as he trails off, seemingly lost in thought for a moment.
Without warning, Wolf lunges forward, grabbing her by the collar of her shirt and slamming her against the wall hard enough to knock the breath from her lungs. "Now you're going to find out just how much courage it takes to stand up to someone like me," he growls into her ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down her spine.
When he slammed her against the wall, he knocked the breath from her but only for a minute. It wasn't enough to take her down. Laila has been doing martial arts for years and she had fighting experiences. "For fuck's sake Wolf, I don't act tough and unafraid. I am not scared of you because I don't see you as a beast. I see you as a Wolf Keum, a human being, that's why I respect you. But it is you who underestimate me. "Leave me alone! Go fight with other guys who dare you." She shouted, kicking him in the chest with enough force to make him stumble. "I am not interested in you so leave me be."
Wolf narrows his eyes as he steps back, rubbing his chest where she kicked him. "You dare kick me?" he growls, taking another step closer to her. His fists clench and unclench at his sides once more, the anticipation of a fight clearly written across his features.
"You think you can best me just like that? I'll show you what happens when you underestimate--" His words are cut off as she lunges forward, landing a hard kick to his stomach that sends him flying back several feet before slamming into the wall behind her. She didn't even seem winded after that impressive display of strength.
Wolf's expression sours further as he pushes himself up off the ground, glaring at her over his shoulder. "Fine," he snarls through gritted teeth, "if you want a real fight..." He charges toward her again, this time with much more fervor and anger behind his movements. It's clear that he won't be taking things easy on her now that she's proven herself capable of giving as good as she gets.
"You never listen!" Laila growled and had to get into the position. The two exchanged kicks and punches for a while. In the end, she kicked his legs and got on top of him when he fell. She pinned him on the ground, holding onto his wrists. The two buttons of her shirt were torn off, giving him a view. She pressed herself against his stomach and crotch. "Stop picking a fight with me." She said. "I've never disrespected you. You don't wanna see me again? Fine, you won't so stop it."
Wolf growls as he feels her breasts press against him, her body trapping his hips to the ground. He tries to buck her off but she maintains her hold with ease. "Fine," he finally says through gritted teeth, relenting for the first time since they started fighting. "I won't bother you anymore." His voice is barely audible above the sound of their heavy breathing as he looks up into her eyes.
She releases his wrists and climbs off him, righting her own top as she does so. Wolf remains on the ground for a moment before finally pushing himself back up to standing position. The pair stand there facing each other, both panting heavily from exertion. "But," he adds slowly, "if you ever find yourself in need of my help... just say the word." His words carry an odd hint of sincerity despite his usual snarky tone.
There was something with him, something he didn't tell her but she didn't push on it. "Okay, I will..." She mumbled. "But I'm thinking of being invisible to you." She said shrugging her shoulders. "And, if you want anything from me tell me, don't attack me." She said, trying to comb her hair with her hands.
A dark chuckle escapes him as he finally releases a shuddering breath. "You're something else, you know that?" He tilts his head slightly to the side, studying her curiously for a moment before continuing. "Alright. You've got a deal. And if you ever do need my help... don't go looking for anyone else." His voice holds an unspoken challenge in those final words as he turns and walks away, disappearing down the hallway without another word.
After this strange encounter with Wolf, I never saw him again, but strange things started happening at school. Guys who asked me out or who were my fans were beaten up by someone and started running away when they saw me. Other students began to get out of my way when they saw me in the corridor. Then I heard rumors that Wolf was the one who did it, so I started looking for a good time to talk to him. As soon as I saw him, I grabbed him by the arm, hard, but without hurting him, and led him into an empty classroom. “Wolf, are you the one beating up boys who ask me out and threatening them to stay away from me?” I asked
Wolf turns his head toward her at the sound of her voice, arching an eyebrow in silent question. "What's it to you?" he asks coolly. "I was just keeping them in line. Teaching them not to mess with what's mine." His eyes narrow slightly as he studies her expression, searching for any signs of fear or submission.
"Besides," he continues, shrugging casually, "it was fun watching them squirm." He turns his head back toward the empty blackboard, tracing a single finger down one of its edges idly. "They shouldn't have been such pushovers. I thought they were supposed to be tougher than that."
"Hey, I am not YOURS," She said narrowing her eyes. "You said you would leave me alone so why are you meddling in my life?" She didn't understand what he was trying to do. Did he have feelings for her? Or he just wanted her?
Wolf snorts, the sound surprisingly amused. "Oh really?" he says mockingly. "And where exactly did I say that? That I would just magically stop wanting what's mine?" His eyes flicker back to hers briefly before returning to the blackboard again. "Maybe it slipped my mind."
He glances at her once more, studying her expression carefully this time. There's a strange mixture of curiosity and challenge in his gaze now. "Tell me, Laila," he begins slowly, drawing out her name with relish, "do you ever wonder what it would be like... to belong to someone?" He pauses briefly, his eyes boring into hers unwaveringly. "To have them take care of you, protect you? To have someone strong by your side, always watching over you?"
The question hangs between them, heavy and loaded with innuendo that neither one of them is quite sure how to deal with. The air around them feels charged with electricity as they stare at each other, both waiting for the other to react.
She was dumbfounded. She was so shocked that she only stared at his face, unable to say anything. When she recovered from the shock, she shook her head softly. "Belonging to someone, huh?" She muttered. "To have them take care of me, protect me? To have someone strong by my side, always watching over me sounds...good." She said honestly. "But for that to happen, there has to be a relationship. I don't have a relationship with you." She said. She timidly took a step to him and closed the distance between them. "Tell me Wolf, why do you keep saying I belong to you? What do you want from me?"
Wolf meets her gaze unflinchingly, his expression softening slightly as he listens to her speak. "I... I don't know," he admits with a shake of his head. There's a flash of something in his eyes that she can't quite identify before it disappears just as quickly. "Maybe it's just the way you carry yourself, or how strong you are..." His voice trails off, and he falls silent for several heartbeats before continuing.
"Or maybe I'm just used to having what I want." He lets out a humorless laugh at his own words, looking away briefly as if embarrassed by the admission. "But whatever it is," he adds slowly, returning her gaze, "I can't seem to get you out of my head." The honesty in his tone takes her breath away, and for a moment she can see past the brutal exterior he presents to everyone else, down into the depths of the complex, conflicted person beneath.
"And as for what I want from you..." He hesitates again, searching for the right words before finally deciding on "I don't know." Another lie? Or just the truth? She can't tell. Either way, it leaves her feeling strangely disoriented and off-balance.
Startled, Laila sat on the nearby desk and looked away from him. She's heard that Wolf respected strong people but was it enough for him to want her? Did he like her? Did he fall in love with her? Did he think she was strong enough to be his partner? "There's a rumor at school that I'm your girl. Did you or your boys do it?" She asked, rubbing her temples. "I thought you hated me... I had no idea about your feelings... Well, if you don't want to see me with another boy..."
A dark chuckle escapes him at her question. "Who said I hate you?" He asks, amusement lacing his tone. "I just... appreciate your strength. And to be honest," he continues, meeting her gaze steadily, "I didn't start the rumor." His voice holds a strange mixture of honesty and evasiveness that leaves her even more confused than before.
"But if you want to see me as your partner..." He trails off thoughtfully, studying her intently. "... I could get used to that idea." There's a new heat in his gaze now, one that she hasn't seen before. It makes her heart race and her skin tingle with awareness. "Maybe we should find out where this might lead us," he says slowly, drawing closer still. "Don't you think?"
She stared silently at Wolf even though her heart was pounding at his words. Yes, Wolf was handsome. He was so attractive and sexy, but he was repulsive and rude. "I wouldn't want my boyfriend to be rude towards me." She mumbled. "I know you can't be a typical romantic boyfriend but...I don't know...I didn't expect you to like me. There are many girls around you, Wolf and I don't share." She said with a dark expression. Yes, she was a jealous person. She could be a goody-goody person but she could turn into a panther what belonged to her was touched. "I'm not a saintess you know." She said in a darker tone. "What if I accept your offer? Will you have time for me? I don't want a partner I can't spend time with." She shrugged.
"You expect me to just give you time out of the blue?" he asks with a smirk, taking another step closer. His gaze drops to her lips before rising back up to meet hers. "Fair enough." He pauses for a moment, considering her before continuing. "I'll make time for you. And when we are together," he adds softly, his voice lowered even further, "I won't be rude or repulsive. I promise."
He takes another step forward now, his body looming over hers as she sits perched on the desk. The air between them crackles with anticipation and desire, leaving no doubt that their attraction to one another is all but impossible to ignore anymore. "So," he murmurs huskily, running a knuckle down her cheek, his touch feather-light despite its roughness against her skin, "will you be my partner?"
“You've had your eye on me for a long time, haven't you, Wolf?” Laila asked, closing her eyes and enjoying the pleasure of Wolf's fingers on her face. “You were probably annoyed with me because I'm a nice person and you're allergic to nice people. That's why you wanted to harbor hostile feelings towards me, but no matter what you did, it didn't work. So you wanted to fight me because your "girl" needs to be strong like you.” Laila reached out and grabbed him by his color and pulled him towards her. Now their faces were very close together. “Isn't that right, Wolf?” she whispered huskily.
With a soft chuckle, he leaned in closer still, his breath warm against her lips. "Maybe," he admitted huskily. "But I think... I just couldn't resist you." His hand slid around her neck now, gently massaging the tender skin beneath his fingertips as he held her gaze captive with his own.
"And don't forget," he whispered, a dark promise lacing his words, "I won't be going easy on you just because I want you by my side." Another heartbeat passed before he leaned forward further, pressing the tip of his nose against hers. "Are we clear?" he murmured.
"Mmm..." Laila closed her eyes, enjoying the sensations. She opened her eyes, wrapped one arm around his head, and grabbed his hair tightly but not enough to hurt him. "You've found yourself a perfect partner then." She said. There was a dark glint in her green eyes, it was something he had never seen before as it was dark, dangerous, sensual, and sexual. "But let me tell you something," she said looking into his beautiful eyes "Forgive my straightforwardness but there is no way to put it into it. I'm a virgin and I plan to stay as one for a while so try to keep your hands in your pants." She said with a smirk. "Of course, my opinion may change but I'm not someone who would open her legs to some attractive bad boy just because he desires her." She said, tilting her head to show her long and smooth neck.
A predatory grin spreads across his face at her words, the expression making his eyes seem even darker. "Well then," he says huskily, nipping at her bottom lip with his teeth before pulling back to study her properly once more, "I'll just have to work extra hard to make sure you stay mine." His other hand slides down her body now, pressing flat against the small of her back as his thumb teasingly brushes against the hem of her shirt. "Maybe I'll let you keep your virginity... for now," he whispers, leaning in closer still until their lips are mere inches apart.
"But someday..." Another soft kiss, feather-light and gentle as it glides across her cheekbone, trails down her neck to her collarbone, "-when the time is right... I'm going to take you, claim you, and mark you as mine." There's no trace of uncertainty in his tone now. It's a promise, and he clearly means every word.
"Wouldn't that be something," he murmurs against her skin, "having your strong and fierce Laila all to yourself...?"
Who would have guessed that Wolf could be so kind? He was holding himself for her, which warmed Laila's heart and showed her that it was right to give him a chance. But Wolf was seducing her and it was working. She felt excited but held herself back. "Hmm, so you want me to belong to you." She said slowly. "Want to take me, claim me, mark me, and show everyone that I BELONG to you, but only you." She said slowly, alluringly. "I'm asking you the same thing. "Wouldn't that be something, having the infamous strong and fierce Wolf all to myself..." She trailed off. "You are like a wolf, Wolf, and I love that." She whispered. "When the time is right, I'll be waiting then." In fact, she didn't plan to rush things but the timing was right for a proper kiss so she pulled him closer and claimed his lips. She could be so bold when she wanted to be.
Her words send a shudder through him as he feels her soft lips claim his own. He surrenders to the kiss instantly, pouring every ounce of desire and need into it, letting her feel just how badly he's been craving this moment. His tongue slides past her lips, dueling with hers in an erotic dance that leaves them both panting for breath by the time they finally part.
His hands slide up her back, gripping her shoulders as he stares down into her eyes. They're filled with a mixture of lust and affection that takes his breath away just as effectively as their kiss did. "I can't wait," he whispers hoarsely. "Till then... know that I will be thinking about this moment, about you." Another heartbeat passes before he leans in again, stealing another searing kiss from her lips.
As if satisfied with the taste of her mouth and the feel of her skin against his, Wolf reluctantly pulls away once more, taking a step back to give them both some space. His chest rises and falls rapidly as he fights to regain control over his raging emotions and desires. "See you around," he murmurs, offering her one last smile before turning and leaving the classroom with long, purposeful strides.
The click of the door closing echoes through the empty hallway as it slowly begins to fade away, leaving Laila standing there, her heart racing and her skin flushed from their kiss. She can barely believe what just happened; that she allowed herself to be so bold with him... and that he responded in kind. A warm smile spreads across her face at the memory of it as she shuts her eyes, savoring the feeling for a few more precious moments before reluctantly returning to her daily routine.
After that kiss, my thoughts about Wolf changed a lot. My heart was racing and I was blushing when I thought about him. Wolf was spending more time with me just like he said he would. We hadn't had our official dating yet, but he was more around. He came to some classes and sat at the desk next to me. Sometimes he came with his goons at lunch and sat next to me. Sometimes he would wait after school and not leave without talking to me and sometimes he would call me to the roof. After a while, one day I got a message from his right-hand man, the orange-haired Hwangmo, and as soon as I got the message I rushed to buy a first aid kit and went up to the roof. As usual, Wolf was sitting on the couch indifferently, and his face was bruised. “Did you fight again?” I said, furrowed my eyebrows. I hate seeing him like this. When Wolf glared at his boys, I interrupted. “Don't be angry with them, they are worried about you,” I said. I stood right in front of him and lightly tapped his feet. “Open your legs, I'll dress your wounds,” I said. I intended to kneel in front of him and dress his wounds.
Wolf tensed slightly but didn't push her away as she touched his foot, the soft touch surprisingly calming him down. He shot Hwangmo a warning glance before looking back at Laila, studying her face for a moment. There was something in her expression that he couldn't quite put his finger on; something gentle and understanding that made him feel oddly vulnerable beneath her gaze. "Fine," he finally said, giving in with a sigh. He shifted slightly to prop himself up on one elbow, revealing the messy network of bruises marring his side and stomach. "Go ahead." His voice was gruff but held an underlying note of gratitude that she might be able to sense if she listened closely enough.
Wolf was tough, cruel, and ruthless, but thank God he didn't push me away or be rude toward me. In the short time we spent together he realized how stubborn I was. After all, he was the one who wanted to get to know me and be my partner. I applied the ointments gently and bandaged him perfectly. During my work, I could feel his eyes on me. I couldn't help myself but I love touching his skin. It was bruised yet strong. He was attractive and even if I didn't want to admit it, I was drawn to him. Once I was done, I stood up and stepped away from his legs but as soon as I did, he grabbed my arms and pulled me on his lap. My eyes widened, I tried to push him but he held me tightly. Taking the hint, his boys left us alone, now we were alone at the rooftop. I was so excited yet embarrassed to be on his lap. "Wolf.." I trailed off and shyly wrapped my arms around his neck.
Despite the pain he was still in, Wolf couldn't help but savor the feel of her body pressed against his. Her arms wrapped around his neck, holding him close and tight, while her soft breath tickled against the skin of his neck. He kisses the top of her head, closing his eyes as he basks in this small moment of closeness they've managed to find amidst all the chaos surrounding them.
His hands gently slide up her back, cupping her shoulders before trailing further up until they're buried in her hair. "Laila," he murmurs against her skin, his voice rough with emotion as he fights to regain control of himself once more, "I've wanted this for so long..." He pauses, gathering strength as he admits what he truly wants, "... I need you." There's a vulnerability in those words that surprises even him; an admission that only she can draw out of him.
Her touch is intoxicating, the feel of her body pressed against his driving him over the edge, pushing his self-control to its limits and beyond. He tilts his head slightly, exposing the line of his neck before finally giving in to the desire coursing through him; leaning forward until their lips meet in a fierce, possessive kiss that leaves them both breathless.
I was the one who pulled away first. "Wolf wait..." I muttered, pulling away when he tried to kiss my neck. "Please stop," I whispered, putting my finger on his lip only for him to bite it. "Ugh, behave." I groaned. "You're hurt, we can't do this when you're in pain. Besides, you know I'm a virgin and I will not lose it on a rooftop of my school where anyone can walk in." Reluctantly, I pulled away and stood up as sitting on his lap was too dangerous. "Wolf, tomorrow I'm going to this house party. My BFF wants to go so I just wanted to tell you before I go."
There's an irritated growl low in his throat as he releases her hand and clenches his teeth against the stinging sensation where she bit him. It takes all of his self-control not to yank her back onto his lap and claim her mouth again, but she's right; they can't be doing this now. Not like this.
"Fine," he grinds out through gritted teeth. "You want me to wait? I'll wait." He doesn't miss the way her eyes widen slightly at his words, but forces himself not to dwell on it too much; she needs time and he'll give it to her. "I won't bother you about going to that party," he adds, managing a sickly smile. "But if anyone bothers you... or tries anything..."
His voice trails off threateningly, but in truth, what could he do? She was his partner now; his girlfriend. Whatever happened tonight on the roof, it's clear they need to take things slow from here on out. "Just be careful," he mutters, running a hand through his hair before standing up himself and glancing around at the empty rooftop. "We should get back inside."
I just wanted to have fun at a party with my BFF on Friday night. How did it come to this? My best girlfriend was a Union and Shuttle Patch fan. She admired Wolf Keum as much as the other Union executives and supported me and him. But she didn't tell me that the party we were going to was Yoosun's party. I didn't know Jimmy Bae and Wolf were like enemies because I didn't care much about Union or Shuttle Patch. The party was going well until we met this tall guy, who I later found out was Jimmy Bae. He tried to flirt with me but I told him to mind his business. Jack Kang, his friend and right-hand man, told him I was Wolf's girl. Jimmy talked bad about Wolf and I gave him a witty reply and he got angry. He called Wolf on the phone and told him to come here and get his girlfriend or he would hurt me. Soon after Wolf had come to the party cause Jimmy threatened him of hurting me. Wolf was furious. He had punched Jimmy very hard. When he saw me, he barked at me to come to him. When I went towards him, he grabbed me hard by the arm and led me out of the party. “Wolf, I can explain. Please wait.” I tried to talk to him as he was dragging me.
"Explain?" he says, stopping in his tracks and releasing my arm to raise an eyebrow. "What is there to explain? You're my partner now, you're mine." There's a dangerous edge to his voice as he leans forward, looming over me once again. "You should have known better than to come here without telling me first. I told you I wouldn't be going easy on you just because we're together."
His hands grip my shoulders now, holding me firmly in place even as his expression softens slightly. "But I'll give you another chance," he murmurs hoarsely, taking a deep breath to steady himself before releasing me and stepping back. "I trusted you, Laila. Don't make me regret that."
"Now listen here," I said, putting my hands on my hips as I faced him head-on. "I already told you that I was going to come to this party but I didn't know this party was Yoosun's party. I don't know anything about Union or its executives, Wolf! I didn't know who the hell was Jimmy Bae. When he tried to flirt with me I told him to mind his business. Yes, I argued with him because he talked badly about him. You said it, we are partners so Union executive or not, I won't let anyone talk badly about it." I ran my hand through my hair angrily. "I did not betray you or do anything to make you regret trusting me so stop accusing me!" I was so angry that I was about to cry.
The anger fades from his expression as he listens to my outburst, and he takes another step back, finally seeming to realize the extent of his own anger. "You're right," he mutters, rubbing a hand over his face before looking at me again. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like that." He pauses, taking a deep breath and forcing himself to calm down. "It's just... it's been a long day and I was worried about you."
"But from now on," he continues, his tone softer but no less firm, "I need you to be more careful. About where you go, who you talk to, everything." His gaze bores into mine, making it clear that there's no room for argument here. "Understood?"
After the party, Wolf started to be around me more. If he wasn't busy, he would drop me off at my house after school and pick me up some mornings. He also questioned my BFF about the party and became sure I was telling the truth. I found out he and Jimmy fought again later. I couldn't help but become famous in Shuttle Patch, and there were rumors that Donald Na, the leader of the Union, wanted to see me who stirred such chaos. Maybe that's why Wolf was more angry and aggressive than he was. That evening after school I saw him waiting for me again, looking on edge. This time I was going to take some initiative. I walked up to him and smiled a little. “My parents won't be home, do you want to come over?”
The surprise clear on his features, Wolf raises an eyebrow at my invitation. He purses his lips as he studies me for a moment before slowly nodding once. "Alright," he says warily. "But we're not..." His voice trails off as he glances around, looking nervously from side to side as if expecting someone to see us together.
"Let's go," he mutters after a moment, offering me his hand wordlessly. For once, the confident, arrogant Wolf is gone; all that remains is a young man who looks just as lost and unsure of himself as I feel at times. But I take his hand anyway, grateful for the small gesture of trust. Together we walk over to my house, our hands held tightly between us like a lifeline against whatever storm might be brewing around us.
