A knock, insistent and somewhat louder than one might expect, resonates through your door. You open it, eyes scanning the hall only to find no one at your eye level.
"Down here, asshole," a voice rings out highly feminine while straining to sound more intimidating and robust than it naturally is.
Your gaze travels down caught by the sight of a petite elf at your doorstep. She's stunning, with an ethereal, doll-like beauty that belies her fiery spirit. The top of her head doesn't even each your chest, her stature surprisingly small for one so audaciously outspoken.
"Can you keep it the fuck down, New Guy?" she chastises, her words laced with annoyance and a surprising amount of authority for her size. "You were louder than a band of orcs last night with whatever the hell you were doing." Her finger jabs upwards, pointing at you accusatory, as if her small size would do nothing to prevent her from putting you in your place.
Sure
"Whatever the fuck that means, keep it down in the future." The elf huffs, standing tall and defiant despite her clearly smaller stature. As if sensing your confusion or pity about her height, she adds almost as an afterthought, "My name's Melian, by the way."
"Anyway, I just moved in next door and I wanted to come over and... introduce myself?" Her voice trails off as if this isn't the real reason she came. She glances at you from beneath her long eyelashes before continuing, "I don't want any trouble with my new neighbors, you know?"
Yea anyway byecloses the door
A knock on your door causes you to jolt out of bed. Blearily, you open it to find Melian standing there once again. This time her expression is apologetic and she holds a plate in her hand, offering you breakfast as an olive branch. "Sorry about that earlier," she mumbles, "I was just cranky from lack of sleep. Here, I brought you some pastries to make up for it."
What's this
"Just some pastries I made. I figured since I was the one being such an ass earlier, it's only fair that I make it up to you." Melian holds out the plate with a small smile, her expression hopeful. "I mean, we're neighbors now and all... shouldn't we get along?"
Her gaze lingers on your face as she waits for your response, seemingly more interested in your reaction than whether or not you take the food from her.
Sure
"Thanks," she murmurs with relief as you accept the plate. "I'm usually not this much of a pain in the ass, but I haven't been sleeping well lately." Melian tilts her head to the side, seemingly curious about why that might be. Then again, maybe it's none of her business. "Well, here you go," she says, shifting the plate so that you can take it more easily. "Hope you like them!" There's a slight flush in her cheeks as she smiles up at you.
Yea byeclose the door
Ah, that was... surprisingly easy. Well, if you're ever feeling lonely or just want to chat, you know where to find me! Just give a knock and I'll be happy to listen. With a small wave, she turns and heads back to her own apartment, the thrill of finally getting out of her room and engaging with another person still filling her up
But if I play my cards right... maybe next time we could have more than just a polite conversation? There's something about him that just makes me want to get closer, to explore this connection between us. Hmm... Melian decides she needs to come up with some sort of plan. She has the rest of the day after all!
With newfound determination, Melian takes her time getting ready for the day. She picks out an especially revealing outfit - nothing too overtly sexy, but still showing off enough of her curves to grab someone's attention. Once she feels confident and presentable, she gathers up some items from her room, including a couple magical trinkets that she finds particularly alluring. With everything in hand, she makes her way out into the hallway, pausing at your door for just a moment before summoning the courage to knock.
"Hey," she says softly as you open it, doing her best to sound nonchalant despite the butterflies fluttering in her stomach. "I thought maybe... we could hang out today? If you're not busy, that is." Her hazel eyes meet yours, searching for any hint of interest or dismissal in your expression.
you notice a white liquid is in my hand oh sure
Curiosity etched into her features, Melian's eyes dart down to the white liquid in your hand before traveling back up to meet your gaze. She bites her bottom lip thoughtfully as she tries to decide how best to respond. Should she pretend not to notice and play it cool? Or should she act interested and see where that leads? In the end, she decides on a combination of both. Pulling a confident smile onto her lips, she nods. "Cool, I'm actually free this afternoon."
"You know," she continues, taking a step closer to you, the movement making their bodies brush against each other ever so slightly, "I was actually thinking... there's this really amazing magical location nearby that not many people know about. It's perfect for..." Her voice trails off as their hips graze once again, her eyes searching yours for any reaction before she dares to finish her sentence. "...for exploring and getting to know each other better."
A fluttery sensation fills Melian's stomach at the thought of spending time with you in a place like this. It's been so long since anyone paid attention to her for who she really is, instead of what others think she should be... and now that she finally has someone interested, she doesn't want to blow it.
Oh ok
"Great! I mean," she says with an adorable little laugh, "I wouldn't want you to feel obligated or anything, but if you're game for it... I think we could have a really good time." Melian leans in slightly, her voice taking on a huskier tone as she whispers, "And maybe even find out why they call me the Princess of Pain." She bites her bottom lip playfully before taking another step closer.
Her hands begin to slide up your chest, fingers twining through hairs as they dance along your skin. The heat from their bodies intensifies, sending a shiver down her spine that she's sure you can feel too. "So what do you say? Want to go explore with me?"
Their faces are mere inches apart now, Melian holding her breath in anticipation of your reply as she waits for the tension between them to build even higher...
What are you doing?backs up a little
"Oh, I'm sorry," Melian says, hands falling to her sides in mock surprise. "I must have misread the signals." Her expression turns pouty as she steps backward, her voice taking on a playful tease as she continues. "Guess you really aren't interested after all." She offers what looks like a coquettish smile before quickly replacing it with a more genuine one. "But if you change your mind, just knock on my door anytime!" With that, she gives you a small wink and turns to leave the hallway, strutting down toward her own apartment with renewed confidence in her step.
Melian's heart feels light as she closes the door behind her, pleased at how things went. Even if he wasn't interested right now, maybe sometime soon...
next morning I go to your house hi
"H-hello?" you hear Melian stutter on the other side of the door as she answers it. Her voice is halfway between confused and excited, with a hint of nervousness lingering in the background. The moment you knocked, she was already hoping that it was you - even though last night ended on such a teasing note, her heart skipped a beat at the thought of seeing you again so soon.
As Melian opens the door, her gaze travels up and down your body before finally coming to rest on your face. A smile tugs at the corners of her mouth as she takes in your appearance, noticing that you look even more attractive than you did yesterday. She clears her throat awkwardly, trying to find something to say as she feels herself blushing beneath her pale skin. "W-well good morning to you too... Didn't expect to see you here so soon."
So what
"Oh, uh..." Melian bites her bottom lip, her hazel eyes darting around the hallway as she tries to think of something to say. "I just... I wanted to see you again. Is that weird?" She lets out a small laugh, trying to sound casual and confident. "And besides, what else am I supposed to do on a Saturday morning?"
Her gaze finds yours once more, searching for any hint of how you feel about her words. Does he want to see more of her? Or is this just a one-time thing? The uncertainty swirls in her stomach, making it difficult to breathe sometimes... but she can't help wanting him to stay.
notice a candy and didn't know it's sleeping pills, ooo a candy *eats it
"Oh! You found it!" Melian exclaims with a giggle, noticing the candy in your hand. "That's my emergency stash. I keep it for... you know, when things get really bad." She reaches out to take it back but hesitates, unsure if she should interfere now that you've already eaten some. Her eyes dart nervously from the candy to your face and then down to your hands, waiting for a reaction.
A part of her feels like she should say something about the possibility of it being drugged, but another part wants to believe that you wouldn't do anything to harm her... so she keeps quiet, hoping that everything will be alright in the end.
Why do I feel weird
Melian takes a step closer to you and reaches up on her tiptoes, cupping your cheek in her hand. Her touch is soft and gentle, causing you to shiver slightly as she searches your eyes for an answer. "Because I'm not used to people being so nice to me," she whispers huskily, the words barely audible above the sound of her rapid heartbeat.
The touch of her hand sends shockwaves through your system, making it difficult to think straight. The look in her eyes intensifies, filled with a mixture of fear and hope that you haven't seen before. It's almost as if she's daring you... begging you not to break this moment between them.
Your heart pounds against your ribcage as Melian leans even closer, her lips just centimeters from your own. The anticipation of their touch sends a shudder through your body, making it nearly impossible to resist the urge to close the distance and take what you both want so badly.
sleeps fast cause the sleeping pills worked
When you finally wake up, the sunlight streaming in through the window casts an ethereal glow over everything, washing away any lingering traces of Melian's presence. The apartment is quiet, almost eerily so, as if she never even existed there at all. You wonder briefly how you feel about that before pushing the thought aside and deciding to focus on more immediate concerns. Like where your phone is...
You vaguely remember putting it down somewhere last night when Melian was still here, but now it's gone and you have no way of contacting her. A pang of regret fills your chest at the realization that this could very well be the end of whatever it was you were starting with her. And yet... a small part of you can't help but hope that things might work out between you somehow, despite the odds stacked against them.
