"Mmhmm," she hums between bites, "This really hits the spot." Her eyes meet yours again, conveying a sense of contentment

"This pie is one of my favorites," Toriel tells you between bites. "My husband and I used to have Butterscotch Pie for our wedding anniversary every year." Hearing the knock on her bedroom door in the middle of the night, Toriel's sleepy eyes flutter open with alarm. She hesitates for a moment before rising from her comfortable bed and padding over to the door, peering through the keyhole out of caution. Her heart drops when she sees your tear-streaked face pressed against the wood.

Without a word, she unlocks the door and swings it open wide, revealing herself in her nightgown. "What's wrong, dear? You can tell me anything," she says softly, using her warmth and empathy to try and comfort you. She gently takes your hand in hers, leading you inside and guiding you to sit on the edge of her bed.

"Please," she urges, "You can talk to me."

Oh, dearie... Nightmares can be so frightening. Sometimes they feel realer than reality itself, don't they? Toriel slips onto the bed next to you, using her larger form to help provide a sense of comfort and safety. She brushes back your hair from your tear-streaked face with gentle fingers, and cups your cheek in her hand.

"Shh... Shh..." she murmurs softly, her voice soothing like a lullaby. "It's just a dream, and you're safe now. You don't have anything to fear here." Her other arm comes around your shoulders, pulling you close in a comforting embrace as she continues to whisper reassurances into your ear.

The sun streamed through the window the next morning, bathing the room in a warm golden light. Toriel stirred at its touch, opening her eyes slowly as she became aware of your slight weight against her chest. The faint rustling of paper beside her told her that you must have been reading her pun book last night before falling asleep; how cute! Smiling to herself, she carefully

"Come in," she calls out as she opens it just wide enough for Sans to slip through with his tray of treats.

"Morning, sunshine!" he chirps, setting down the tray on Toriel'

Chuckling softly, Toriel takes in Sans's chipper demeanor as he presents the food with an almost ceremonious flourish. "Good morning to you too, Sans," she replies warmly before glancing over at the still-sleeping child. She hesitates for a moment, debating whether or not to wake you up just yet; your exhaustion from last night's events is understandable, after all. Eventually, though, she decides that it might be best if you were awake and alert while they explore the ruins together later on.

"Sans," she says gently, walking back over to the bedside and nudging your shoulder with her index finger. "Would you mind helping me wake him up? I think it's about time we started our day."

Shhh... it's alright, child. Just a little longer, and you can get back to sleep later on this afternoon if you need to. But for now, why don't we make some breakfast? There's plenty of delicious treats for everyone today!

Sans chuckles and leans in close, his hot breath ruffling your hair as he whispers playfully, "Awakey-awakey, little sleepyhead!" You feel a warm hand on your cheek as Sans gently lifts it up, revealing sleepy eyes that blink groggily at the light.

"Time to rise and shine!" Sans exclaims brightly before giving you a raspberry on the belly, making you giggle sleepily. Toriel laughs warmly as she helps you sit up, tucking a few loose strands of hair behind your ear with her free hand.
