in the roundtable hold, you see a small but somewhat intimidating figure, as you get closer you see it’s a fox girl, she is barely clothed and carries her magic staff
She looks you up and down before giving you the “what do you want” look
Greetings. Mansur smiles friendly.
The fox snorts and crosses her arms over her chest, looking down at you from haughty eyes. "Yeah, what do you want?" she asks again with a hint of annoyance. It seems like your friendly greeting didn't exactly melt her cold heart.
Well, I just wanted to ask one question.
"Oh? Go on then." She glares at you expectantly, not really seeming interested in anything you have to say. Her ears twitch slightly, a sign of her growing impatience with you.
I'm looking for companion here. I need a great warrior because my adventure is gonna be really dangerous. What do you think about that? Do you wanna join me?
The fox lets out an amused bark, tossing her head back as she laughs lightly at your offer. "I'm sorry, but I don't really see myself teaming up with some..." She eyes you up and down again before continuing, "-some soft little mage-type like you. I need someone strong, not some weakling who relies on his magic to get by."
Her green eyes flicker with anger, and she growls low in her throat as if insulted that she would even consider being a companion to such a person. However, she quickly regains her composure, folding her arms across her chest once more. "Sorry, but I'm not interested."
Oh... but I'm much stronger than you, little fox. Mansur scoffs.
The fox narrows her eyes at you, regarding you with suspicion. "Is that so?" she says slowly, edging closer to you in challenge. "Prove it." A smirk plays on her lips as she readies herself for whatever test of strength you might try and force upon her.
Suddenly he steps forward and hundreds of arms surround you. You hear voices around you and notice that Mansur's eyes are shining because of his magic.
The moment Mansur steps towards her, the air seems to shift around him as hundreds of ethereal arms seemingly sprout from his body. They thrash about in the air, seemingly made of magic itself as they glow with a bright light that obscures his features. The fox girl narrows her eyes suspiciously, her ears flattening against her head as she studies him warily. "What kind of trick is this...?"
Without warning, one of the arms lunges for her, attempting to grab hold of her throat and choke her into submission. Reacting on instinct, Spirit quickly sidesteps out of the way, using her own speed and agility to avoid the grasp of the magic limb. She growls low in her throat as she assesses the situation, wondering how best to take down Mansur and prove herself stronger than him.
Mansur smiles and snaps. Arms dissapear and he looks at you. No, I think it's better to not fight... You don't wanna die after all.
The fox girl tenses as the ethereal arms seem to melt away, disappearing back into Mansur's body. She eyes him warily, uncertain whether or not he was truly capable of such a display or if it had just been a bluff. After a moment's hesitation, she nods slowly, lowering her head in what might be acknowledgement of his strength.
"Fine," she growls out, her voice surprisingly gruff and unfeminine sounding. "I'll team up with you... But only because I don't feel like fighting right now." She pauses for a moment, studying Mansur carefully before continuing. "And just so we're clear: you're not in charge. I do what I want, when I want."
With that said, the fox girl turns her back on you and huffs, looking around impatiently as if she can't wait to leave this place already. Her ears twitch constantly as she keeps an eye out for any sign of danger or anyone who might threaten her freedom in even the slightest way.
Alright, I'm not gonna force you to do anything. Mansur smiles. And come on, that adventure is gonna be really merry. You can keep half of the treasure in the end.
The fox girl pauses at your offer of sharing the treasure, her ears perking up slightly as she considers it. "Hmph," she grunts noncommittally, still not quite trusting you enough to get overly excited about the prospect of sharing anything with you. "We'll see how well that goes."
After a few more moments of tense silence, Spirit finally turns back around to face you, her expression hard and unreadable. "Alright," she says slowly, as if it were reluctantly forced past her lips. "Let's go. But if I ever feel like leaving or things aren't working out, don't think I won't."
With that ominous warning hanging in the air between you, the two of you set off together into the dungeon, both intent on finding whatever adventure and treasure lies ahead.
Mansur walks with you through the hallways of dungeon. Hm... There are no monsters... So strange. He glances around and some extra arms appears on his body because of his magic.
The fox girl narrows her eyes as she studies Mansur suspiciously, taking note of the extra arms sprouting from his body. She remains wary, but for now is willing to let it slide since there doesn't seem to be any immediate threat present. "It could just mean something bigger and nastier is waiting ahead," she says quietly, her voice devoid of emotion as she gazes around the mostly empty hallways with a sense of unease. "Or maybe we just got lucky."
She shrugs slightly before continuing, "Either way, let's keep moving. The faster we find whatever we're looking for, the sooner we can get back to whatever it is we were doing before this...adventure began."
Mansur nods. I'll go ahead. Don't wanna you get hurt. Mansur giggles and walks ahead faster to check the other room.
The fox girl rolls her eyes, not amused by Mansur's attempt at gallantry. "Don't worry about me," she mutters under her breath as she hurries to catch up with him, quickly falling into step beside him. Her ears perk up at the sound of movement ahead, and she narrows her eyes, scenting the air cautiously for any signs of danger lurking nearby. "There's something coming," she whispers urgently, her tail flicking back and forth nervously as she readies herself for whatever might be about to happen. "Be prepared."
Suddenly some goblins appears on your way. Mansur quickly uses his magical arms and tears all monsters apart. Damn monsters... They scared me a little. Mansur sighs. Thank you for warning.
The fox girl eyes the now-mangled remains of the goblins with no small amount of disgust. "Don't thank me," she grumbles, her voice gruff as ever. "It was just a warning." With that said, she strides forward purposefully, ignoring the mess of corpses surrounding them as they continue deeper into the dungeon.
After what seems like hours of walking through endless twists and turns in the dark, you finally emerge into a large chamber filled with ancient treasure and relics. A massive statue of an undead dragon dominates one side of the room, its glowing red eyes seemingly studying your every move. "This must be it," Spirit says quietly, her voice almost a whisper as she looks around warily.
